Gundam Build Fighters' official site announced today that a sequel is in planning. More information will come at a later time.

I think what partly allowed this series to be so popular was that it was basically an awesome eye candy show designed for kids and Gundam fans, and they simulcast this thing on freaking Youtube in 720p for free with English subtitles, plus several other Asian languages. In fact they are still releasing the episodes with different languages even now, keep showing up in my Subscription feed. If that doesn't scream "This has been making us tons of dough" I don't know what does.

Will be watching this for sure. Currently in the middle of the first season and it's pretty good so far. I love the atmosphere of the show. It's just very relaxing and fun to watch!

Hmmm. Well, to be honest, I am having mixed feelings about this. This iteration of Gundam is definitely not the usual, but I watched it anyway because I love Gundam so much.... It was alright, but not the greatest. HOWEVER, I do have some questions about that particular Gundam world, and the secrets it holds. So I will reserve further judgement until later. :P

On the topic of mecha anime, for me the best one this season is Knights of Sidonia for reasons of tonal consistency, intrigue and having some form of clear direction. Daimidaler barely counts and is basically just fan service trash. Captain Earth is just disappointing but I expected that from the Star Driver staff that doesn't seem to know what its doing. M3.... I don't think I've ever seem a more unpopular mecha show in Japan. Satelight either needs to hurry up and get that new Macross anime out (I can dream of some other better mecha studio getting that license though) or just give up already cause man do they suck at this whole thing. Makes me just kind of miss this show, it was largely light hearted fair but damn if Sunrise didn't show they knew what they were doing when they made it and made the most of its premise. If it weren't for Polygon Pictures and Sidonia I'd say they are currently the only studio besides maybe I.G that has any clue what they are doing when making a sci-fi mecha show nowadays.

By the way the idea of a time skip Aila is a bridge that should be crossed when it comes to it. I don't know how they can pimo that design anymore. She looks about as 14 years old as Feldt Grace back in 00 season 1 and yes that is supposed to be her official age while China was 12.
