A scan of the wraparound jacket band to be included with the tenth volume of the Tokyo Ghoul manga reveals that the series will be receiving an anime adaptation. No cast, staff, or airing date has been given.

Synopsis:
"In Japan, strange creatures that eat humans are around and they're called "Ghoul." A university student, Kaneki Ken, is riding a normal life and has fallen in love with a girl. But, after their first date it turns out that she's a Ghoul. Being seriously traumatized, he got saved as the Ghoul accidentally died.

What happens when the doctors implant some of her organs to him, in order for him to survive?"

I really can't be bothered to take the time to read 60+ chapters of raws, I can do a few, but 60+.. oh god no... So I can say up to chapter 39, the manga is honestly not too impressive.. HOWEVER, I am really excited to see this adapted into an anime because the manga does have a lot of potential, I just don't think its paced well, and they never show a character enough for you to actually get to like them. I really do think the anime could be one of my favorites of whatever season it airs. I just hope its not a letdown like most modern "horror" anime..

Are you saying this based on the current translated chapters? Cause I believe there's a lot of battle past 60 chapters, maybe you should check out the raws which is over 100 chapters already. :)

I don't know much about the story, but Sawashiro Miyuki as the girl would seem to be mighty appealing if it does happen. Though I don't know what her personality is supposed to be like...but how could you go wrong with Sawashiro Miyuki voicing a zombie girl? Turn on the rasp!

It's a battle horror much like Kiseijuu (Parasyte) manga.

I read the first volume and it's simply amazing. I hope it's gets a great boost in sales and I hope the adaption does the manga justice.

Damn, just sneaked a peek at the latest raws cause the scanlation team is about 70 chapters behind and I'm not regretting it a little bit. Just hope this will be another faithful adaptation cause I can see it being quite successful if it follows the manga completely.

Still that's the manga PV. Now I'm all curious about the anime cast!

Ohh that's definitely my headcanon choice for Touka as well.

It has gore but the setting is nothing like Pupa. It has a lot of conflict, a very deep social/racial standing and different perspectives from both the main guys and the opponents. You will find this a good series.

I just caught up to the manga as well, and I have to say, it's a very engrossing read. It's not a masterpiece but it is definitely pretty good. I'm looking forward to the anime!
