Daicon movie?
Ohboyohboyohboy
But wasn't his supposed to have come out a few days ago? Does anybody know anything about that? Even con releases get a few MAL ratings before an official release, but we seem to have nothing.
Daicon Film 33 refers to a "33rd year anniversary" celebration for the group. Basically, they've opened a site where you buy commemorative goods illustrated by Takami Akai, such as posters and coffee mugs.
According to Gainax, they've revived Daicon Film in a new form, one that consists of different types of products celebrating their original collaboration.

Other than this, Gainax has five projects lined up including two movies.
Actually, they're -trying- to line up several projects, including movies. Nowadays, they're unable to find sponsors for their shows, so they're resorting to fan interest to turn the tides.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-09-04/gainax-blue-uru-pilot-film-slated-for-2014 (pilot film intended but still looking for sponsors)
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-21/gainax-reveals-proposed-akubi-o-suru-ni-wa-wake-ga-aru-anime (not greenlit yet, still collecting funds, six years and counting)
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-22/gainax-outlines-possible-tenshi-yoho-strange-weathers-cgi-anime (not greenlit yet, still collecting funds)

The recurring theme is that they have several concepts that have been kicking around for years, but no greenlight for any of them. Normally, these developments aren't revealed until financing arrangements are negotiated, which suggests some desperation on Gainax's part.....they're putting everything out in the open, in the hope that at least one of them will generate enough buzz to attract investors.

For people that aren't familiar with what I'm talking about I feel I should at least post them:
Daicon III and Daicon IV
These were basically the original shorts that Gainax (then named Daicon) first shopped around at sci-fi conventions around Japan in the early 80's when it was just the eventual founders coming out of college and having been exposed to Mobile Suit Gundam, Star Trek, Star Wars, Space Battleship Yamato and other Sci-Fi classics of the 60's and 70's. As far as I know if there is a Daicon 1 and 2 they've never been recovered in any known format but it's still interesting that they're even doing anything else with the classic name. Maybe this is their trying to reboot themselves and start over from scratch somehow or a last tribute before ceasing operations altogether.
Awesome, time to listen to some ELO again. I loved the original shorts and I hope this will be an entire movie or at least a full fledged OVA.
Twiiiliiiight~~
That, Secret Messages and Turn to Stone are the best ELO songs.

Other than this, Gainax has five projects lined up including two movies. I wonder if this "Gainax is dead" thing is a joke or just plain ignorance.
I'll look forward to this.
they are on life support and barely at that, I really doubt they will even finish any of their projects let alone eva 4.0
It might take awhile, but we are getting those anime. I expect Mahou Taisen this summer season.
