Voice Actress Nakajima Megumi Suspends Music Career

The official website of Nakajima Megumi has announced that she will put her music career on indefinite hiatus in 2014. She will continue her career as a voice actress. Nakajima is best known for her debut role as Ranka Lee in the 2008 series Macross Frontier.

Nakajima's third and final album "Thank You" will be released on February 26, 2014. She will perform her final concert on March 20, 2014, which will be held at the Nippon Seinenkan in Shinjuku, Tokyo, where she made her professional artist debut in 2007 during the Macross 25th Anniversary Concert.

Going for voice acting career would be good , Her roles are all noticeable , I can't disagree with her because it's her decision and life ^^

So I don't know much about her singing, though I know she was Ranka from Macross Frontier. However, I watched Kimi no Iru Machi episode 11 and she was MAGNIFICENT as Eba Yuzuki. That scene at the pond may go down as one of my favorite anime scenes of all time. When Eba was talking to Haruto...it just felt SO REAL. The tone of voice, the pauses in her speech...so good. She gave it so much emotional power. Am I a sucker for dramatic romance? Maybe. I hope she does more shows that give her opportunities like that in the future.

^ True, but my main point is that it is still possible for her to sing as Ranka Lee if there is ever more Ranka songs being made.

One thing that tsubasalover's first post did not make clear is that she would suspend singing as "Nakajima Megumi". The implication is that singing as an anime character is not ruled out. So her music career has not completely ended. Singing as, say, Ranka Lee should be perfectly fine.

But I would agree with most people here that the news came as a shock and the lack of reason (she did not disclose any on her blog either) only fuels speculations.

Well at least she is still continuing her career as a seiyuu and I like that :3

I hope that she receives many major roles :D

Yeah like much of the thread I also consider this a good thing if she gets more exposure as a Seiyuu now. I mean her music is okay, but it's her VAing I really like.

I hope so as well, she has nice voice.
I don't care about music, singles, albums and all that, good seiyuu performances in anime are much more important to me so it's possibly very good news for me.

If she’s going to focus in her voice acting career at least I hope she will be appearing in more interesting shows not just anime that I would never watch.
