The list is of the STEERING COMMITTEE of the event, not a full list of participating organizations. It is probably Shaft and many other companies/organizations will take part when the event is held.

For those who are interested in the actual news conference, it can be found here.

(You'll need an account to view it though)

Edit Topic: I now remember what the thread was. If you typed in K-ON!! under the Anime tag, go on the page and click on one of the discussion threads seen on the News section titled "Father of KyoAni's Animator Horiguchi Yukiko Wins Election For Mayor".
Ok, then it has absolutely nothing to do with this piece of news then. Yeah, her father, Horiguchi Fumiaki, is the mayor of Yawata, a satellite city south of Kyoto. You can have a look at him in the city government home page:

I wish I can go... But I can't, unless I skip school, run away from home, hop onto a plane to Japan, somehow get enough money to stay for a couple nights and then hopefully onto another plane back. Oh yeah, Mom and Dad would be demanding an answer to where I disappeared the past few days while my friends would be facepalming the whole time at my obsession with anime.
Ok done rambling.

Hmmmm.......He is not the one I was thinking off. The mayor I was thinking about was the one who became elected for Kyo Ani's presumed most "best-selling anime" K-ON.
How come a mayor has to do with KyoAni? Do you happen to have more details about this?

I suppose I have to find it somewhere as I remembered there was a thread about it but I do not know what tag or page it came under.

I kinda figured it was him at first but I was thinking of another mayor that is also from Japan but cannot remember the exact location.
I think you mean him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C5%8Dru_Hashimoto who used to be mayor of Osaka and now also a Diet member. He also co-chairs the radical right Restoration Party with Ishihara as they merge the two parties they formed after quitting mayor to run in the national election.

basically a f-you to Tokyo's mayor.
Too bad that he has moved on to become a Diet (parliament) member and he does not need to face it himself.
And who would that be???
You mean who is the Tokyo's mayor we are talking about? It's him:

Now that the craziness is over, we can get some good announcements although I'm wanting some possible game announcements from Kadokawa and Marvelous AQL over anime announcements, Kancolle Kai needs an exact release date and a sequel to Senran Kagura needs to be announced. Gundam the Origin needs to be announced with an exact airing date.

P.S. This is interesting news, too bad I can't go there and be able to see it when that happens. I wonder what type of new anime they are gonna come out with (even though I don't mind the ones coming out at the moment)?

So I guess Tokyo City Government basically pulled itself out perhaps in a sign of accepting defeat as it is no longer participating in the event.

I want to go : (

Added in the official Twitter account for the event for those who might want to follow it more closely.

As for the actual event itself this is some pretty awesome news. Hopefully when the time comes we can get some good anime announcements or some really informative industry panels and judging by the companies attending it looks like we will get just that.
