Best Otaku Collection Contest

Square Enix and Seven Seas Entertainment are holding a contest to find the best otaku collections. The contest is called "Are You an Otaku?" and it is being used to promote Jiro Suzuki's I, Otaku: Struggle in Akihabara manga. In order to enter, people are to email photos of their collections to iotakucontest@gomanga.com by October 14th. You can find out more information at the Seven Seas websie.

If Faust doesn't win, something is very wrong, or there is someone who exceeds him. O.O

I'll enter for fun and see, but I can't take the picture until I get my manga back, and when my friend finds my dvd. DX;

I was tempted to enter, just to put my scary manga collection photo to good use finally, but I am not that interested in the prize. They should give away a trip to Akihabara or something :D That would be a true Otaku prize ^_^

Damn, my collection really sucks. DD; Only a few DVDs and about twenty to thirty manga. ;___;

My collection is VERY small.

Mainly Full metal panic Boxsets.

I don't have very much anime (compared to other people). Only recently has my anime started to not fit in my 18" x 24" x 24" shelf (dimensions are approximate). I believe have 11 official U.S. released anime series, 2 Hong Kong versions (which I bought before I knew that they weren't actually real Japanese imports, but bootlegs :( ), and eight movies (5 on VHS, 3 on DVD).

I have watched a lot of anime at anime club (in high school and college), from my local library, and on my hard drive. Therefore, the amount of anime that I have seen is much greater than the amount that I own.

Haha, I recommend not doing that... they could end up turning it into anime companies who could file a lawsuit against you for illegal downloads.

O_O I better go hide then. :D

I would start collecting anime and manga in physical form, but the thing is that I'm just a poor college student. Not to mention the fact that buying my laptop, books, software, food, etc. for college killed all of the money that I made during my summer job. >.<

I'm trying to have a decent Otaku collection, but i'm still at the beginning stages... Nowhere good enough to enter a contest lol

I have a decent collection the problem being is I have no where to display it. Most of it is packed in boxes for now.

heh, lucky people. i love looking at people's collections. i get so envious though, i don't have that kinda money. but if i had a room full, i'd certainly enter. i've got a long bookstore filled with manga, but only a few animes. a few posters here and there, but no figures (figurines, whatever you call them). oh, also got a witch hunter robin messenger bag. i think that's it... o.0 i'm getting in a big shipment in two weeks though...

Once I get a job mine will be more acceptable since it's only starting to gain momentum but my lists to buy keep getting longer day by day.

I have about 50 anime and 50 manga but in a month or two I expect to see about 100 anime and 200 manga I will fulfill this promise to myself.

I'm not counting the other items such as PVC's and posters, also other items relating to anime "Nothing perverted either I'm not that type of person".

Ooh, my collection isn't as big as other's and wouldn't win, (and I lack a digital camera anyway) but I love looking at collection pictures, so I'll enjoy looking at the results.

I have a good sized collection but no where near a lot of people so I'm not going anywhere near this contest. Plus I don't wanna have to clean and organize to take the pictures...
