 Publishing company AlphaPolis opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yousuke Tokino's Kanchigai no Atelier Meister: Eiyuu Party no Moto Zatsuyougakari ga, Jitsu wa Sentou Igai ga SSS Rank Datta to Iu Yoku Aru Hanashi (The Unaware Atelier Master) light novel on Friday. The official website also revealed the main staff, cast, teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2025. Cast Kurt Rockhans: Mikako Komatsu (Edens Zero) Yulisha: Asami Seto (Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau) Liselotte Homuros: Minami Tanaka (Kakegurui) Staff Director: Hisashi Ishii (Yuusha, Yamemasu) Series Composition: Deko Akao (Unnamed Memory) Character Design: Miyuki Nakamura (Psycho-Pass Movie sub character design) Music: Shun Watanabe Studio: EMT Squared Tokino began penning the adventure fantasy light novel on the AlphaPolis website in August 2018. AlphaPolis published the first volume in March 2019 and released the tenth volume in August 2023. Kanchigai no Atelier Meister has a cumulative 750,000 copies of its volumes in circulation. Naharu Furukawa began drawing a manga adaptation in AlphaPolis. The sixth volume shipped on February 29, with the seventh volume scheduled to be released on October 21. AlphaPolis is releasing the manga digitally in English on its Alpha Manga website and app. The first and second volumes went on sale in October 2023. Synopsis One day, Kurt, a kind-hearted boy, is suddenly kicked out of the Hero's Party for being "useless." He finds that his aptitude for weapons, magic, and all other combat-related skills is the lowest rand, so he takes odd-jobs repairing the castle walls and digging for minerals, where his exceptional abilities are immediately revealed. He proves to be skillful in cooking, building, mining, crafting magical tools—in fact, his aptitude for every skill unrelated to combat had an SSS-ranking! Kurt, however, seems completely unaware to his talent and ends up saving people, the town, and even the country through his unaware actions!? | In the past, the posters had noticeably better art than the show itself, but this is not the first time that the show itself has animation and the art is noticeably better than...advertising illustration... But getting back to the show itself, the synopsis looks like a pretty interesting attempt to combine the "kicked out of the party due to mistaken uselessness" cliche and the "protagonist is super genius at side things" cliche together. A sort of manifesto for crafters. |
