Synopsis
It is common knowledge that nobles will do anything for power; lying, manipulation, and extortion are the usual tactics. However, one family is exempt from this generalization: House Grail, whose main tenets are truth and integrity. The youngest daughter, Constance Grail, is just as moral as the rest of her family, believing in always doing the right thing and helping those in need.
However, these ideals do not help her when her fiancé cheats on her with another woman. Framed by his lover in the hope of her downfall, Constance's pleas for justice are ignored. Everyone turns a blind eye, save for one—the spirit of the infamous Scarlet Castiel—who possesses Constance and turns the tables on her accuser. However, this aid doesn't come without a price.
Ten years ago, Scarlet was executed for the attempted murder of Princess Cecilia. But this was actually a setup; as blunt and harsh as Scarlet could be, she would never stoop so low as to use poison. She has no idea who orchestrated her incrimination, but Scarlet demands that Constance—as the only one who can see her—help her exact revenge on all those who wronged her! [Written by MAL Rewrite]
@Anime_Luv I don't follow the original LN, but the manga adaptation collects as much hype and discussion of the chapters on various resources as stars like Oshi no Ko, Mieruko, Frieren, etc. If their publishing house has the same attitude towards multi-platform popularity as Dengeki Bunko, then they could clearly be interested in this.
@RobertBobert Is it really popular? Im asking, cuz whenever i read the manga, the Novel readers always say that its unlikely this masterpiece will ever get an anime due to its lack of popularity. I hope it sells like hot cakes!
This is an absolutely fantastic story! I nevrr thought the day would come when this received an anime, but im glad it did! Its a great mystery story of great intrigue and igoes so deep. Im just so nervous that they wont do it justice..
The dynamic between the two main leads is enjoyable. I am not even sure if this counts as a villainess story. This series is a mystery at its core, following two heroines as they navigate a web of secrets, every revelation uncovers even more secrets.
Tsk, when I first saw the name "The Holy Grail of Eris" long time ago, I don't know why, but I wished it was about Eris from Mushoku Tensei. Getting her own series. Obviously not but you can always wish.
We'll see what this has to offer since I don't know squat about this.
