Synopsis
"I've come to eat you," so softly utters the mermaid Shiori as she emerges from the sea and takes high school girl Hinako by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a town by the sea and possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters. To ensure that she matures to the best condition, Shiori seeks to protect Hinako—all so that someday, she can devour every piece of her. A longing thought comes to Hinako's mind; "Maybe this monster can make my wish come true." (Source: Pony Canyon)

How long has it been since we got a full-fledged adaptation of an objective yuri manga or LN? Not an original show with yuri bait or an adaptation of a bishoujo game with fanservice. Previously, we were guaranteed 1-2 yuri adaptations per season, but at some point everything slowed down again.

@Shirayukin I haven’t read it, but in general the manga regularly finds itself in various tops of the best, most popular, etc. manga. So if the anime doesn't flop, I'd watch that too.

@RobertBobert somehow I haven't heard about it, but good to hear the manga is doing well. I'll make sure to check out the anime at least.

Also just realized Ueda Reina is voicing the MC so that's another selling point for me. Hope the anime turns out good.

Oooo.... A yuri seinen.... feisty....
Most yuri/GL are either shoujo or shounen, or just wasn't targeted into any specific gender demographic in the first place. Some might even be josei. But this is the first time I ever see a seinen yuri title.
Never even heard the title before, but most ppl seemed to highly praise this. And the adapting studio seems to be experienced in yuri/GL titles as well.
So I have high hopes for this....

But then again, this is yuri seinen. So I don't rly expect the usual cutesy-wholesome-diabetic-inducing yuri/GL development to be present here. In fact we might see some f*d up sh*t here (not to the point of H ofc). Japanese titles are most of the time metaphorical, so despite the "tabetai" in the title, I don't really expect any vore, but this IS seinen, so.... But then again, no psychological tags, which means it might actually be the usual cutesy-wholesome yuri/GL title anyways. I'll just wait for it to air I guess.

(Pls don't answer any of my ramblings above, their just rethorical)

@uncleqrow Yuri is rarely targeted as shonen due to demographics tastes. Most of the yuri we get for male audiences is seinen. Especially the moe/fanservice CGDCT you mentioned, almost all manga of this type, yuri or not, are published in seinen magazines like the Dengeki /Manga Time Kirara family magazines.

@Shirayukin Judging by the latest announcements, she is quite popular.

Well, a lot of yuri are known mainly for yuri collections, so unless you're looking for a lot of different manga or don't read yuri, you can easily miss this one.

This is a surprise, I just started the first volume of the manga and it's so good so far. I wasn't expecting an anime adaptation to be announced this early.

Also Ueshama leading on a yuri show, I can't wait for that.

it's a talent at this point to choose WRONG yuri manga to adapt.
I mean look there are hundreds of normal yuri manga out there, even more popular ones.
WHY THIS?!
