According to Fujimishobo, the manga "Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga." was announced to get an anime adaptation.

I've read a little bit of the manga. There is some good comedy that goes along with a few introspective moments, kind of like Korezom or TLRD. The parts that are serious are compelling but they don't detract from the overall comedic feel.

I wouldn't say that it feels like a shoujo although I've only read the little bit that is translated. What I can say is that what I did read does a good job blending the comedy and the romance.

Those who read the synopsis and a few page scans and jump to conclusion is just one more post chipping in the mood of the usual western anime fans. At least I did some research on the manga.

Sometimes, it's getting too tiring to look at every single anime series at a positive light. And my reaction is not that serious either, so don't judge me too hard on that.

Now that you've mentioned the review, perhaps, this series might end up to be the next Lotte no Omocha!.

Anyway, joke aside. The more I research about this manga, the less I think it is that close to ToLoveRu. For one, ImoCho (the nickname used in Japan) is not harem but more like a love comedy with all the veneer of bends and twists that seem to cater for male fantasy. Yet the fact that the author is a female still shows - reviews I read often mention the detailed and sensitive depiction of the thinking and observation by the characters. Some even claim that it is indeed a shoujo manga that is wrapped in a thick clothes of male fanservice genre. I am now even more interested about this manga. Perhaps I should just go and see if I can find the manga to read....

Those who read the synopsis and a few page scans and jump to conclusion is just one more post chipping in the mood of the usual western anime fans. At least I did some research on the manga.

Yet another? Really? I am not too sure after reading some manga reviews... But of course it still depends on how the anime adapts the manga too.

The review I read that described the manga as like a SHOUJO manga wrapped in Male Fantasy clothing is for the Volume 2 and 3 of the manga (there are 4 volumes released now) and it also said the fanservice is much heavier in Volume 1. So again it all depends how the anime adapts it. It may end up stressing the fan service element or put more focus on the shoujo style of introspection, although I suspect in anime perhaps the former is more likely.

I don't think she threw that line around without any valid reason. Unless of course, you think people having sex with little girls is okay in real life. I don't even think it's the incest that bothered her, but rather the sexualization of a young child. She even defended him by saying that it's okay as long as it's not in real life and by saying she also probably has weird preferences. She just questioned it, that's all. Like I questioned what the appeal of incest was on the second page (Which by the way, thanks for all who answered. I guess it's the whole "forbidden fruit" kind of appeal. Plus having a moe little girl calling you "onii-chan" is pretty cute.).
