They already had the first season. Them getting the second season was not guaranteed, but very much expected, I'd say.

Same, but UK and Australia usually has Aniplex releases cheaper than US (I think) so just get a region free DVD/Bluray and import.

Argh, damn, a Samurai anime with Sanada Yukimura as the mc...would have been happier if it was Date Masamune,Tokugawa or Oda instead.

Thank FUCKING CHRIST it wasn't Sentai. The Penguindrum dub was an absolute abortion.

Unfortunately, that announcement is only for the simulcast. Funi didn't mention home video rights anywhere in it. Sometimes that company announces home video rights right away, but in most cases, that doesn't happen until months or even a year plus after the show starts airing. Funi tends to make the final decision as to whether they will or not based on the viewing numbers for the series in question. Only when they announce home video rights is it considered a license and would be put in the quarterly license acquisitions post.

I heard about this new company a while back. It's nice to see that they have already licensed something that I have interest in (Chaika) and that they are looking into some other titles as well. I'm intrigued to see what else they have up their sleeves for future releases.

Also, I'm hoping that Chaika getting released over here in the UK is a sign of an upcoming dub; despite the lack of popularity in Japan, it seems like the kind of series that would get dubbed. And I hope that their release of Chaika covers season 1 AND season 2. If not, I'm sure they'll pick up the second season later on anyway.

Well Well, this is a surprise, so another new Uk Anime Distributor has opened up. Last year we got Anime Limited and now this. it's just shows just how much the anime market is growing especially in Europe now which is catching up with the America's and they have Chaika which is already a title on to buy list.

There's some speculation that this may actually be a Kaze title... Given that Kaze have the European rights to it. Plus it was announced in conjunction with more Bleach - another series that Manga UK distribute for Kaze.

Three years later, weird but it was Aniplex so I guess AofA had right of first refusal or something. Hopefully someone besides me remembers this really funny shoujo anime from 2012.
