It's in Japanese though so I cant be bothered to look for it. |

| Shocked that a series where a guy can turn into a living chainsaw was popular? Not in the slightest. In fact if that was anything else, like a horror movie or something, it'd probably blow the hell out of everything else in the genre recently just based on premise alone. |

I mean chainsaws are pretty common too in western media especially in horror and slasher films but not the point of the firearms and other projectile based weapons. |

im not really shocked its fights are entertaining , it has gore which can be quite rare for main stream , it has sexy girls , the main character is relatable, it has great villains with unknown powers so it has a mystery element, its very realistic when it comes to deaths and mental problems for me i think its no surprise its so popular  |

| No, it is not shocking as it appeals to mass audience, but it still isn't as popular as other new gen shounen like JJK, DS, MHA and if we are talking about manga sales even spy x family has more manga circulation than csm. As for me, it was a very bottom tier shounen so I couldn't care less about its popularity and fan base. |
| In terms of manga sales before the anime adaptation, it was above AoT and Demon Slayer. Knowing that, I'm more shocked that it didn't even become more popular than Jujutsu Kaisen. |

| Not surprising at all. It's an excellent manga that got an excellent adaptation, but because some people define their entire personality off the idea of "I hate anything that's popular", in regards to both CSM and MAPPA as a whole, you just get some crybabies who think they're funny. |
