As far as I can see, people have stopped complaining about her skin color. It's a good news.

I expected a girl who drinks rum and fights other pirates but it's just a whimp princess who can't even comb her own hair

I doubt this will be a well written story but animation, action and designs should at least make it an entertaining spectacle.

Well, I don't get to say this ever, but did Crunchyroll unironically save the summer season? Since he seasonal lineup for summer is looking like shit.

At first, I was going to say that this looks half decent, but it looks a little too bloody and violent for me, so I'll pass.

I'd love to watch "Kaizoku Ouji," but there are no English subtitles for it. Why don't you subtitle it for us?

When this anime was first announced, at least on ANN was very hotly controversial over the fact that the Japanese made the stereotypical white MC in the southern pirate story, and the Netflix staff did not inform them that it could be unintentionally racialy and culturaly insensitive. And since it is implied that MC is the daughter of a wealthy official, then within the framework of the already mentioned setting (also remember that the trailer and synopsis seem to imply that a group of Japanese ninjas are working for her family), this could bear the vibes of the burden of a white man.

The art style looked a lot like B: The Beginning with a mix of Aldnoah Zero, then I looked at the studio and it's IG. It looks interesting, and I'm short on shows to watch next season.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Oh wow, we finally get an update on this after nearly a whole year later, huh?

Hmmm... I remember really liking how the first trailer looked, especially with the main character looking as pretty as she does, and being just as impressed as @FMmatron that we're finally getting more pirate anime other than One Piece, but... hmm...

...I dunno if I will actually watch thi—

@Fario-P

I just wanted to create an expectations thread, unfortunately, it won't necessarily be a positive one :/

At least it's gonna look neat with nice music. That's more than what other anime can offer xD

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

The eurpean architecture on the key visual and the synopsis on mal all indicate a colonial setting so I don't understand what's wrong with having a european character.

I guess they are annoyed by the possible return of the "white person saves the Asian day" trope.
