 Shochiku opened an official website for a new original television anime titled Sonny Boy on Wednesday, revealing the main staff, concept visual (pictured above), and a teaser promotional video. The sci-fi survival anime is scheduled to premiere in 2021. Synopsis Empty classrooms, boring days. It was supposed to be a normal summer vacation just like any other. Suddenly, the school begins to drift through another dimension, and 36 boys and girls are left there, awakening to their supernatural abilities. Amidst the whirlpool of questions that come to mind one after another, survival in a supernatural world begins. | Madhouse isn't dead ? Jokes aside, this looks pretty interesting but 36 characters + Survival Genre + Superpowers ? Feels like it could into a big mess if it isn't handled well, although the staff seem solid. Hope it turns out well. This has been a pretty good year for originals so far (Wonder Egg Priority, SK∞, Odd Taxi and Vivy's Flourite Eye's Song are all doing pretty well), so hopefully this joins the ranks. |

| The no. of shows with only one gendered full male or full female cast has really increased, which I hate, so the mix of male and female is welcome, original, SF, madhouse and veteran staffs style is also welcome. |

| I am really excited for this anime , not just because of madhouse, for some reason the art style really give a nostalgic feeling aside from that One punch man director is involved this anime is going to be great , After watching the trailer it seem that this anime will be more dramatic with very less comidy and I really like that kind of stuff ๐ |
