| I was wondering if anyone has a comedy anime(s) that they just find really unfunny. I was thinking myself and every comedy anime I've seen has been funny at least to some degree, (some more than others) but none that were just not funny at all. However, in terms of American TV, there are so many comedy shows that I just find super unfunny. Maybe I just like Japanese comedy better or I just haven't watched a really bad comedy. Curious on the responses! Update: I went through my whole list and found 2 anime I found really unfunny: Yo! Daitouryou Trap-kun and Happy☆Lesson (TV). |

| Comedy may be one of my highest rated genres on malgraph, but I hate a number of popular titles. Daily Lives of High School Boys Kaguya-sama Grand Blue Noragami Fruits Basket Ouran High School Host Club One Punch Man deserves special mention because I wouldn't have even known it's supposed to be a comedy if I hadn't read reviews. It feels no different from the typical Shounen Jump. |

| Katte Ni Kaizou - This anime got the worst comedy i have ever seen. Working!! was bad too as well. One Punch Man also got jokes like trying be funny or enforce you to laugh |
| Hinamatsuri. Heard from several people that it's one of the funniest anime, but I've never laughed once while watching and I'm someone who can basically laugh about everything. What a disappointment. |

| Daily Lives of High School Boys - It gave me short giggles, but it's nowhere near as funny as people make it out to be. Nichijou - Same as above. Some giggles here and there, but nothing significantly funny. Seitokai Yakuindomo - I giggled like 3 times total throughout both seasons. I like the subject matter, but the delivery was weak. Lucky Star - There's only like two episodes I found funny. The rest of it was a snorefest. The Devil is a Part-timer - The funniest parts of this anime were at the beginning and end of the series. Everything in the middle is dry. |

| Zero no Tsukaima Stupid tsundere nut jobs are bad comedy to me. Like 4 seasons of her beating the shit out of some dude she already treats like a dog....I guess the comedy is too advanced for me. Tsundere Stockholm syndrome is what I refer to anime like these. Yet I watched it all, kind of reminded me of Taiga from Toradora. These poor fuckers are going to be explaining this shit to therapists for decades to come....unless they are severe masochists I guess. Im not offended by it or anything I just dont get it |

| Pretty much every comedy that Rumiko Takahashi made, especially Maison Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura. Her works aren't funny at all. Instead, they're annoying. Watching them made me angry. |

| Easily konosuba, didn't click at all for me. Maybe I overhyped it for myself after always hearing how funny it was, and then I went in with pretty high expectations. Didn't even breathe air out of my nostrils once. It's not bad humor per say, just not my type. Super dumb humor like in grand blue is my type LOL |

| I have 180 anime with the comedy tag on my list, but the ones that truly made me laugh might be less than five. Gintama and Grand Blue are definitely not among those five. Nichijou is by far the worst. |

| Urusei Yatsura: (I only watched the first episode, so I'm going off of that) I don't think the jokes were inherently bad, but the pacing of the show itself was just weirdly slow and stilted. Like, the punchline of the jokes just felt like they dragged out a little past when they would have actually been funny. I think if this were redone with a bit faster pacing, it would be decently funny though. Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun: I don't like it when romances drag out the leads getting together, and though that what this making of, I just didn't care for it. Maybe it's just because of how long it's been since I watched it, but I don't remember it being very funny or it doing anything especially interesting with the characters. ANd the fact that they are making fun of romances that drag out the confession by dragging out the confession didn't really endear me to it all that much. Space Battleship Tiramisu: I'll be honest, I watched this specifically because I was miffed at Beatrice (formerly Otaku Gonzo Productions) and kinda wanted to prove to myself that she had a bad sense of humor. Even given that that bias, this show was legitimately a chore to watch, and I would have not been able to get through it if not for how short it is. Absurdist humor great and all, but it doesn't work all that well when it's the only kind of humor in the show. I didn't find the early jokes very funny, and by the time the show got to jokes I would have found funny they had their thunder stolen by me expecting them to happen. It probably works better when you aren't binging it on a streaming site, but really doubt that watching it more intermittently would have saved it for me all that much. |

| At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon here, I find most comedy anime unfunny. Sure, I get the occasion giggle and it puts me in good spirits overall, but I don't ever find myself in an absolute mess of laughter. That's even with shows considered the funniest ever like Gintama, Golden Boy, GTO, etc. I do get lots of enjoyment out of them, nonetheless. |

The series becomes FAR slower once the ending song changes, however. If you thought the start was too slow, you will HATE the majority of Urusei Yatsura. |

| Oh gosh, I'm so scared. I'm gonna do it.... *breathes in* Gintama Nichijou Kaguya-sama Chou Futsuu Toshi Kashiwa Densetsu 😂😂😂 Nichijou is okay because at least I laughed a few times. Gintama and Kaguya doe, I honestly don't think I laughed once. I have those on hold because they're also incredibly boring. Steins;Gate was pretty unfunny, but I liked the show despite that. I think it became funnier as I began to like the characters a tiny bit more. |
