| I think I'd be a fair bit more invested in our spider's fight for survival if there wasn't so much leaning on game mechanics: these could be tense, visceral scenes, but turning everything into a video game just robs a lot of that by making it feel like a simple exp grind. More focus on her tactics and desire to survive and grow stronger, rather than the actual game mechanics, would be welcome for sure. Also, now that we've seen more of how she was in the human world, her personality in spider form is very hard to swallow; talk about going from one extreme to the other. |
Well, for the English novels, Volume 10 was released in December, and Vol. 11 is scheduled for March. The Volume 14 was released in Japan this month. The manga is now around the second chapter from the protagonist's perspective on Vol 5. But since it skips 40%~50% of content, I think it'd be fair to say it's 2 extra volumes behind. |

| Damn that snake literally almost destroyed her. Reminds me of how I use to grind when I play RPG games. It's fun watching her slowly grind exp. |

| I really enjoyed this episode. Kumoko is hilarious and seems like she is adapting to her new world very well. |
| Kumoko is such a silly character, I love it! Carries the show hard right now. She's leveling up fast, thanks to killing that snake. Honestly can't wait to see her interact with her classmates (or bullies...). Most looking forward to the fact of Fei realising that the person she bullied became a strong little spider XD That ED still delivers like crazy! I just noticed it has a freaking Airhorn.mp3 in there, wtf XD |

(spider web and poison) She also get new title connected to her habit of eating bad stuff, maybe we will see it in next episode. Just eating monsters which increase resistance with each bite, can't be good for stomach. |
| What reason is there for a world that is not a video game to have so many status screens? I have not really found anything original other than the idea of a spider girl, but it would be equivalent to putting scenes without context of a duck trying survive nother generic isekai such as cheat magician or smartphone YAWN |

| Yuuki Aoi is killing it! love her work (has some of the Tamaki or Komachi's tones this time) and i really like the whole Appraisal-chan adaptation, her voice and how it unfolds as a screen. a bad cgi is that one out of tune with the rest of the animation to me (and a very bad cgi is something that's not directly achieved) Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? is serving a well integrated cgi and feels enjoyable am only manga reader, so i'm not keeping up with LN events, maybe if i expected a "literal" adaptation the pacing would feel a bit rushed. BUT considering the particularities of an audiovisual version with all the content available to adapt, i think they're doing a good script work. the 8-bit visuals was very well incorporated and the added scenes were hilarious! |

Overall an interesting ep that did well to expand upon Kumoko's past as well as how her fellows viewed her as well. At the same time while losing her home to humans was tragic this served to light the spark that enabled her to not only get stronger but also allow her to explore the world around her safely as well. Curious at what her new form will be like though. It was actually a centipede storm, not a spider swarm lol. The centipedes didn't have night vision so they were almost completely blind in the cave. However, they do have paralysis poison so it would be quite troublesome if kumoko was bitten by them. Hope you enjoy the evolution next episode, since the anime will likely have most of the other evolutions as well. |

| ill be honest this one ant really doing much for me its fine ,can't be the only one that is super over the overly gamey aspects to these series when they aren't even games. will say glad there are bits of showing the past lives of her classmates ,of course shes the loner type that got bullied Friday's ant stacked so will keep watching plus pretty sure this is a 2cour so gotta give em more time |

| Great episode. They paced it well. The details on the LN about her skills and stats are there. The parallel about the timeline seems straight forward but its difficult to pull off in the anime I guess. But mostly this episode is still good adaption. The CGI that people complain are not visible now and the CGI spider is now 2d so its good. The highlight is the dancing frog its hilarious. |

| I don't care about the skipped battles against random monsters, but I am a bit worried about the way they are handling the events back on Earth and some of Shun's scenes. I understand that they want to speed it up so that they can get on with the intro stuff, but revealing information in a different order messes up some of the more interesting narrative structures. That said, I can think of an alternative reveal that this can bring. |

It's the MAL culture. Conversations would improve greatly if they simply programmed a more threaded style forum instead of the quote boxes. So if you're not interested in "the pacing of an episode" or what not you might need to read through multiple people talking about that same thing rather than just be able to skip past that part. I usually only read up to a page of comments for an episode because I'm not willing to pore through more than that looking for a conversation I might want to add to. |

While 1 is ok, but man I saw on some anime in MAL when almost Page 1 comment is about summary of the ep. with no opinion at all. Wish MAL could treat it as a spam and remove it. |

| The story just moving very slowly and a lot of times are wasted on leveling up on the spider. I think this show is trying to be funny, but it keeps falling flat. |

| lol i thought it to be little better version arifureta until now these two series have a lot common 1. whole class gets into another world ( one is summoned other one is reincarnation) 2. our mc is in somewhere alone in dungeons or something and grinding experience to get stronger. arifureta spend half of series doing that !! well lets see for how long that spider girl will be in it. |

From now on, just skipping the scenes where he is present. and probably all other reincarnated human scenes - just staying this anime coz of spider. Nice fight with giant snake. looking forward to more spider next week. |

| Welp, Fei has just become character of the season for me. I think I said this before in regards to Ayame from Fruits Basket, but it's just really relatable to me. You were a teenager. You thought your were being so cool, so witty... and then, years later, you come to realize what an asshole you were, wishing you could go back and time and do things differently, and you wish you never do that again. Really hope Fei gets a chance to reconcile with spider girl. Really hope Fei gets more screentime. I keep shouting at Spider MC to cling to the walls. That's your greatest advantage! Also, get out of that cave! |

| Not gonna lie; the personallity of the protag and Aoi Yuuki's performance are hard carrying this show so far for me. I'm only starting to get interested in the story itself but I've been enjoying the episode long monologues from start to finish. It's always a treat to have a talented seiyuu with wide range being able to display fully her talent through quirky and very changing characters like that. TBH it feels like the staff just told her 'here's the script, you can voice it the way you want" and that she's just having way too much fun with the whole deal, and well, it may just be my impression but regardless, that's really fun to listen to. |

Seriously, this story is a masterclass in how to lead your audience around, by means of concealing and revealing information through time skips, multiple perspectives, and red herrings. I actually feel like the anime is making some things a bit too obvious - part of the fun of this is trying to guess who Kumo was, and who else fills important roles in the story. The fact that, in the LN, you can't actually see what they looked like in their old lives was a big part of preserving that mystery, so I guess it's inevitable that the anime can't do quite as well there, but I wish they'd try a little harder. Still - really enjoying this. |
