| Have you ever seen an OP song so good that you thought "it would be so amazing in a better anime"? Every new season i'm checking all OP and EDs since i love it, and sometimes i feel it, but recently i found the most absurd discrepancy between song and anime, lol: The song: "Taiyou no hana" (Sun Flower) by Destiny / Hitomi Shimatani https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtgGMG8O9l0 The Anime OP: Black Jack 21 (2006) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVFSymPe6DI From 2020 one example that called my attention was the ED of Peter Grill (ecchi / comedy) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvdPLPm9Hv8 What the singers / bands may think when they are hired to compose songs for anime, but it is a bomb? Or even worse, when the studio buy the rights of a previous good song. |

It's not generic at all, has some interesting ideas about combining magic with SPR and modern technology...than the second season came and I was disappointed. Railgun doesn't fit the criterium of the topic tho, it is relatively popular. |

| Aside from previously mentioned songs, like domestic girlfriend/divine gate/Chivalry of a failed knight, one of my favourites is the OP from Chain Chronicle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK2UB0SxZY8 Nano always makes such great songs, and this one is no exception. I especially like the consistent theme of books throughout the OP depicting the progression of the story or Chronicle as one might say. But the show is just really generic at best, which is such a shame. |

Other great ones include the aforementioned Divine Gate OP, Conception ED, Absolute Duo OP, Domestic na Kanojo OP, etc. Some that I can think of on the top of my head would be: Egao no Daika OP Mayoiga OP All of the Absolute Duo EDs Junji Ito Collection OP & ED Arifureta OP Bem OP Pet OP & ED Shoumetsu Toshi OP Angels of Death OP & ED Every song from Karakuri Circus (not that bad of an anime but indeed a terrible adaptation tho at least from what ive heard) Welp honestly it's pretty much already a norm nowadays for good songs to be used in terrible animes soo yea ripp ;-;;; |

| Although certainly not a bad show by any metric, Attack on Titan has had one ending that honestly is kind of wasted due to the fact that it is so heavily underappriciated and overshadowed by the first season op, is the ending song "Utsukushiki Zankoku Na Sekai" in the first season ed. Edit: I also could not forget about the SAO op 1, so great for such a bad show. |
