| Ecchi: Highschool of the Dead or Highschool DxD, can't remember Harem: Highschool DxD I enjoyed HotD more, that shit was amazing when I was like 14. God bless Tetsuro Araki. I should also add I didn't even look for those tags, cover and synopsis just seemed cool and first episodes were enough to hook me. Never watched past season 1 of HS DxD though, it's too basic. |

| It feels like Ranma 1/2 was my first ecchi, but on MAL it doesn't have that tag. I also remember watching some show on TV when I was a teen, and all I remember about the show is that every single camera angle was focused on ass-shots so I would assume whatever that was, it was ecchi. The first I remember for sure tho, is Ichigo 100%. So that's my 'official' first ecchi and harem, which I saw back in 2006 or so. Before knowing the term 'ecchi' or 'harem' as a genre. I just watched it with the expectations of a romance anime and was of course mostly disappointed and frustrated because instead of working on one girl and progressing the romance, it just kept introducing new girls one after the other and making zero progress with anything. In the end I stayed away from ecchi harems for a long time after that, and still avoid harems because that one experience really told me everything I needed to know about the genre and it not being for me. |

| High School of the Dead was my first ecchi anime, dunno if I would've finished it if not for my ex. Shinmai Maou no Testament was my first harem anime, went in expecting some battle shounen. Watched 2 episodes and never looked back, I wasn't ready and seriously wondered why people would watch boring stuff like that. Prison School was probably the firs "ecchi" anime I genuinely enjoyed, even tho I would rather classify it as toilet humor comedy. |

| I think my first was Junketsu no Maria, but it's since had the ecchi tag removed. As for harem, no fucking clue. At a guess, I'd say the only one I've ever finished is the first season of Saekano, which currently stands as "worst anime I've ever finished." Also, I don't know if I'm just getting old, but I'm really starting to hate the term "man of culture" for describing people who like those genres. It's never been particularly funny and now it's just starting to get irritating. |

| Elfen Lied and Dears I think Elfen Lied works as an Ecchi series. I watched it first. Dears - works as both as far as its genres are concerned. |

| My first ecchi was Kiddy Grade. Pretty mind-blowing experience, if I could say so... I was 13 or 14, got TV cable for the first time in my life, and I was a heavy cartoon viewer... my most lewd experience with cartoon was some Dexter Laboratory dirty jokes, and Totally Spies being into casual dating a bit too much for a children show - thou there was that time with Goku and Bulma in the late 90's. This was in 2006 or so, and anime was in no way mainstream, at least not in my country. At some point I discovered Animax, and after some interesting action series, I discovered Kiddy Grade, and wow... seeing panties, shower scenes, and overall sexy drawings was a game changer. I had no idea mature cartoons could exist, and that cartoons can actually be sexy. So yeah, it was great, my world changed forever. The first harem came a bit later, after I got internet and got into anime. I think it was To Love-Ru. |

| First harem: Probably Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki. This was when I was first starting to watch anime (late 90s), so I would walk around a video store and just pick a random tape to buy. Colorful stuff with crazy anime hair was often the winner. If Oh! My Goddess (the 90s OVA) counts as harem, it could have also been that, since I watched these at around the same time. First ecchi: I think it was either Tenjou Tenge, Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai, or this show nobody remembers called Hikari to Mizu no Daphne. I watched these at around the same time in 2004. |

| First Ecchi - No Game No Life First Harem - Onegai Twins (this is definitely harem, but it may be considered harem & ecchi jointly) Still two of my five least favorite genres though. I didn't really watch No Game No Life for the ecchi element so much as the plot and premise itself, its quasi-incestuous element, and because I thought it looked visually unique and appealing as a result. And I watched Onegai Twins moreso for the romantic drama and potentially incestuous subplot. |
| First ecchi is easy to remember since it was my first anime, Kenkou Zenrakei Suieibu Umishou - I think I've rewatched it 2 or 3 times since completing it the first time around, and it held up really, really well. First harem is Haganai, according to the listings. Fifth anime total - went from Umishou to Saki to Jinsei to Kill la Kill to Haganai. That sounds about right to me, considering that was when I took note of the harem tag and began using that to look for similar shows. Kind of stands out a lot compared to "Comedy" and "Romance." |

| First ecchi: Ikkitousen Elfen Lied, though it didn't feel like it at the time, 2008, because of the dismemberment, while first watching Ikkitousen in 2009 felt more true to the genre. First harem: That one episode of Highschool DxD Kanokon, which I forget about at times because I didn't get the point of either genre until later on, and I'm still not on board with the fantasy that harems try to portray. The only one that I like so far is School Days anime because of the nice boat ending. |
