| Fairly indifferent to the concept itself, I just dislike how they usually seem to end up being no more than a gimmick and a tool for some cheap, repetitive jokes in most shows. |
| Some of the responses to this thread are interesting. When the OP asked the vague question of "Traps - Yay or Nay?", I interpreted it as "Do I like traps?" I thought, yes and no, there are trap characters that like and some I don't like. After reading some responses, I see that some people interpreted the question as "Are you attracted or want to sleep with a trap"? I like compelling characters who also happen to be a trap. Examples being Kuranosuke from Princess Jellyfish and Yuuki from Moyashimon. Those two have particular reasons for appearing the way they are, such as family-related issues with Kuranosuke and gender identity conflicts with Yuuki. Don't really want to go into spoiler territory to provide more details (PM me if interested or look up the characters). Not a big fan of traps that are solely used for comedic or other, inconsequential effects. Those are pretty boring. |
