| Erm just watched the first episode, the visuals were stunning, the voice acting superb, however I ended up. . .confused to say the least, seems you have to get high in order to understand, or fully appreciate this show. |

| This episode fell short because although it was interesting, it's been ruined by all those direction and animation tricks. I like anime with weird visuals and all, but this one were not as good. They ended up confusing me as to what was going on rather than building atmosphere, tension or whatever else it was they tried to do. |

| A lot of info coming at you w/o explanation. Enjoyed it and disliked it all at the same time. I need more to make a proper assessment... Either way, stunning visuals and great dialogue. |

| Watching this with a friend and posting retrospectively! So I'd seen some other shaft stuff and heard about this so thought it'd be worth a check out! There was the slightly abstract style and use of other animation methods and stuff. Visually very lush, with lots going on to keep your eyes busy. I found at times stuff was flashed up almost instantaneously and that made me roll my eyes a bit. If I was on my own I might have stopped the footage and taken the time to read everything, but you cant do that when there's more than just you, it'd've been an arse interrupting the flow of things all the time. I feel sorry for the poor buggers who watched it live in Japan! Anyway, story and characters got me hooked. At the end, we immediately put the next episode on without question, we both recognised it as something worth perusing! |

| First in watching it in 2012! I always wanted to watch this anime... and now... ohhh... I love the art style, the way of the scene are animated, the music background, all, all!! Still don't hear the op, but I loved the Ed by supercell, which nagi aren't already in T^T (fucking Koeda ¬¬). SHAFT!! |

| Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised by this episode. I've heard good things about this show, and I can see why. It's a little confusing so far, but I'm pretty impressed. I'm hoping it can keep this impression on me throughout the rest of the show. |

| Re-watching this series, I'm surprised that I forgot the beginning with the Kizumonogatari stuff, curious if Shaft is going to use those assets for their upcoming Kizu movie. Bakemonogatari is an outstanding anime, love it. I'm not sure but Senjougahara's voice sounds different from her voice in the upcoming episodes. Vampirius said: Nice episode but I was kinda confused. BTW I had to pause the episode a lot because I could not read fast enough the message thingy. It's okay to be confused, no one would blame you. As for pausing the video, if you mean the lines that show up for not even a second, you really don't need to, it's humanly impossible to read that fast. If you mean the normal subs, I totally agree with you, they talk a lot and they talk fast, so you really want to rewind the video and stop it. |
| i recently strted this anime ive watched upto ep 3, its so fast paced is there any need to read whats written on those quick scenes that flash by and then disappear?? or does it make no difference? |
| very different. i'm intrigued. i like the male protagonist, he's cute and snarky and cool. the girl really took me by surprise too. i'm in. |

| I don't really know how to feel yet. The animation is interesting, but I was kind of bored with the story. Then again, it is the first episode, so I'm not gonna judge it very harshly. |

| Shaft series tend to have unique and impressive visuals - this was no exception. I like the nonlinear storytelling aspect here as well. We are introduced to this world in what seems like the middle of its timeline. This produces some interesting results - not many first episodes have the main character casually mention that they used to be a vampire but that they are cured now. |
| Interesting Anime wasn't really expecting this from the Anime but if it's executed correctly this could get quite the interesting story! |

| Sue - Weet first ep! Animation looked great, directing was excellent (during the dialogue with the class rep for example)(and the dialogues were impressive btw), the humor (stationery girl ftw)... make one mighty fine combination. Loads of textual information, tried to follow it at first, but I'll leave it for future rewatch. Can't wait to see more now. |

| I've heard quite a bit about this anime, but was never planning on watching it. After a spur of the moment decision, and actually watching the first episode, I have to say that I did not believe it would be this good. What a creative way of threatening people! It´s something even I can do! I want to try it right now. I wonder who I could use it on... |

| I'm not sure what I watched. The stuff in the beginning, am I supposed to know what that was all about? :/ One time I'm fascinated by Shaft's art style, and the next time I find all the close face shots rather annoying. The continuously appearing sentences is kind of annoying, is it important to read them? Just cause I really don't want to keep my finger on the pause button to stop it every 5 second or so. I started watching this because of all the good reviews about it. I'm not sure about this show so far, but I'm gonna keep going. |

I actually paused, but I think most of them translate emotion going on during the episode and they might even sometimes explain a few things. However, someone correct me if am wrong, I do not believe you will miss much without reading them. |

| that was actually kind of impressive because it was quite unique. i liked the first-person perspective and the way the sound changed then, so it really felt like we (the viewers) were talking. the colors and the animation are really nice as well. but i'm not sure if i really liked the whole episode... it was kind of weird. especially the part about the crabs and gods. but maybe i just didn't like that part because during the last weeks i have seen a few anime with gods and they all turned out to be illogical and/or stupid and i really don't want to see another anime like that. well, let's see where this is going because i definitely have no idea what will happen next. |
