I want a Terraformars NoitaminA anime by Production IG.
Thanks!

But seriously, I hope this gets an anime adaption rather than live action. With consistent sales like that one of those is only a question of time I think.
I probably regret this post by now.

Gee, never thought that this extremely brutal and bloody manga had this enormous sales. But aside from that, the story is really good and engaging. I hope some studio is willing to take risk to animate this one

Mahouka, Daddy loves you.

Deadman wonderland and Hidan No Aria, season 2 for both of those isn't looking as unlikely as I had thought. DW last few volumes have sold pretty well. Interested to see if they decide to take the plunge and just go for it after lackluster (that's being kind) season 1 sales numbers.

I can see a season 2 of Hidan no Aria, heck the characters are in a crossover game, I made a topic about it, just search around a bit.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

What's the total sales of SnK right now? will it be able to beat One Piece at #1 spot at the end of the year?

What's the top 10 or top 5 best selling manga right now? I mean from Jan to Aug.

Snk is at #4 in the first half sales, maybe it will end up in #2 or #3 or just in top 5 overall best selling manga of 2013

Thing is, One Piece will have been ratcheting up sales, unseen, every single week for every single one of its volumes. And there are quite a lot of them. That and the fact that the new volumes alone probably come close to matching SnK's sales total for the year so far.

One piece sold over 23m last year. Far more than even SnK's all time sales.

I thought SnK already sold over 20m this year, each vol. is like 1.5m to 2m+ since the anime started in april. It's just almost 5 months since then

Total sales of SnK all time = 18964609

It had 7763366 before every volume reappeared back in April. So that's 11.2m sales in that time. Seriously impressive, but there have been 2 new volumes in that. The next volume doesn't come out until after the year end figures are calculated. Barring an unseen collapse in the number of people picking up older volumes of One Piece this year, SnK is not going to beat it, especially as 2012 itself was a very low year for OP.

Light novel stuff:

Haganai sells 75714. For some reason different retailers have different release dates (honto has the 22nd, whereas amazon has the 29th). This might explain the low sales - volume 8 sold 91k in its first week, which was the same length as this one's. Haganai typically has a fairly strong tail to its sales, though (said volume 8 ended up on 238k), so these sales in no way reflect the final total.

Oregairu 7.5 outsold volumes 3-7's all time recorded totals on release week. Impressive. This should give us an idea of how popular the series really is post-anime boost. (Volumes 3, 4 and 7 ranked after the anime started airing, along with 1 and 2 which have higher sales. However only volume 1 appeared frequently)

SAO 13 becomes the 5th bestselling LN of the year. It's still 41k below volume 12, but with continuing strong sales, it should get there.

Mahouka's sales were enough to barely scrape this volume above the last. It should get a bit more over the coming couple of weeks, but I doubt it will catch it's bestselling volume (volume 8).

Kurobasu ranks again. Through sheer perseverence it's pushed itself above the 200k mark, and above the final volume of oreimo for 7th of the year to date.

The yearly/all time thread has been updated and can be found here: http://forums.lndb.info/showthread.php?tid=54

Comparing sales of generic sensationalized manga of this year to best selling manga series of all time. Good luck with that. Every volume of one piece sells millions.

Not a fan of terra formars. Read a bit of the manga, the style was slightly dated. The art was crisp if not a little bit controversial, and the characterization was ok. It didn't seem like a top of the list manga. But what I can I say Japan has spoken.

Did volume 10 rank at all? I don't remember. I got my copy, it's good!

Pan Tachibana's new series Masochistic Ecstasy didn't rank at all unless the date was after the cutoff. I got both in the same package and would have to go back and check to see what the real dates were as both novels say August 25th.

Regarding Oregairu season two, Wataru Watari penned the original scripts for episodes 13 and the OVA so one possibility for a quick season two is anime only. As long as Wataru is writing them I don't care. Also remember that he has released 6.25, 6.5 and upcoming 6.75 nhalf length bonus ovels with the discs so in fact we will already have 3.5 novels worth available for a season two already if they want to animate all the side stories.

Is this the last volume?
Yes.
Sad that it only sell that much for last volume.
Did volume 10 rank at all? I don't remember.
Vol.10 did not seem to rank, implying it sold fewer than 6633 in its first week, although vol.9 did rank:

31位 **位 *1回 *10,036部 *10,036部 12/09/20 ***4日 だから僕は、Hができない。 9 -死神と思い出-
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Thanks symbv, I didn't remember seeing #10. With releases right on the edge the release day of the week probably means the difference between ranking or just missing it, probably with similar actual sales I suspect.

The 6.25 novel covered the contents of episode 13, and based on the PV of the OVA, it will be covering (part of) volume 7.5. So that's closer to the equivalent of 2 volumes currently available for a new season, maybe 2.5 if the OVA doesn't fully cover volume 7.5.
Yeah, so really only two more episodes worth available at the moment. Perhaps one more if there is a 7.25 novel with volume 7. So still need to wait for another 5 novels worth unless he wants to write the anime scripts first/at the same time or something. Ah well.

*13,365 *13,365 Tsuki Tsuki! Vol.12

This is a fantastic manga for harem, comedy, and ecchi lovers. I hope it's popular enough to get an anime adaption in 2014.

Just awesome. Season 4 so we can see Nemesis animated please!

• Late question, but did anyone find the links in the second post any useful? Felt like a good idea yesterday, but I am not sure if I'll do the same next week (if now the BBCodes remain disabled).

Thanks for the sales, Snow.
Don't forget that the LN sales are in courtesy of symbv!
And hey, having people reading the content is enough for me. Thanks though.

Unlike the BD/DVD sales ranking, which people can easily find the title in MAL by doing simple search, there are LN (and perhaps a few manga) that are not in MAL database. People may find it useful to use the link to have a glimpse of what the title may look like. So I guess it serves some purpose, although I can understand that it may quite a bit of effort to come up with a second list, so I would say it should be something that is nice to have but it should not be viewed as a must have.

I think it should be useful to some people (I suspect I need a little more work on my Japanese language before it will be for me). The big question is how much does it add to your work load and is it keeping you from doing something more important?

Oo, To Love Ru Darkness is up there. I didn't expect that!

I'm also kinda curious about Hoozuki no Reitetsu. For LN, I'm quite happy to see SNAFU up there and somewhat for Haganai. Sadly, I haven't been following the Haganai LN lately...

The main reason to why I added the links was because of the LN list. I know that some entries in the list are currently unavailable on MAL, so I figured I'd add links for the LN part in case people were interested and weren't able to find it. It eventually made me add links of the Manga entries as well. It's not too much extra time added, and it's just temporary anyway.

I guess it serves its purpose if people find it useful. And spending some extra time won't kill me. Also it's just temporary until the BBCodes are enabled again, so it's not really a huge issue.
