Now that's a pleasant surprise- early manga news! Thanks!

As expected Magi sold even more this week which is always great. Other than that I'm glad that the titans keep devouring the charts and in regards to the LN department, I am mostly satisfied with the numbers although I was hoping to see Horizon vol 6 rank again. Sadly it didn't...

korezom will struggle to match the 35.3k ranked sales of volume 12.

Useless tidbit of the day:
'Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sanpuru" toshite Rachisareta Ken' is the longest title of any light novel to get over 10k reported sales this year.

Weekly sales total for vol 1-9 of SnK:

April 8:
247484

April 15:
352387

April 22:
343040

April 29th:
526855

May 6th:
519867

May 13th:
407914

May 20th:
627810

I guess I was wrong about SnK's sales going down. It seems a whole load more people went out and bought the whole lot this week, with volumes 1 and 2 topping the older 9 more than reversing the effect of their comparatively slow week last week.
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

The Monogatari LN series is generally very popular in Japan. Just look at how well all the anime BD/DVDs have sold for Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, Nekomonogatari and i'm sure the upcoming Monogatari Second Season will average 50k+ at the minimum.

I am not sure but isn't SnK doing better than long-running battle shounens like Fairy Tail and Naruto? If so, is it likely for SnK to rank in the top 10 or 5 selling mangas this year?

Perhaps it is only because you haven't paid too much attention to the sales of Monogatari series. Actually Koyominomogatari is already a bit down from the sales of the novels in the 2nd season. For example, for the first week's sales, Koimonogatari is about 15% more than Koyomimonogatari, and the novels that came before Koi- sold more (and a lot more for the novels before the second season).
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

The release date was odd, at least on amazon. I still haven't got mine yet because it was "out of print not available" forever and by the time I was able to put it into my shopping basket it seems that it is out... very strange. The release date was just "2013/5" for the longest time, no day, again at least on amazon. So perhaps like me many people weren't quite sure when it was actually coming out?

I think the oricon chart is a bit clearer about its release date:

オリコン 2013年5月20日~2013年5月26日 BOOK(総合)(2013年6月3日付)
*1位 **位 *1回 118,015部 118,015部 13/05/20 ***7日 暦物語

As you can see, it says clearly that the release date is May 20th. I think Amazon just forgot to update the proper release date when the information became available.

Nice to see Inu x Boku SS at the top, especially when the author was sick and with lack of confidence recently.
This month's chapter was very good and I think the manga will end at volume 11 or 12 if the author wants to extend the conflict since volume 9 finished at chapter 38 (the second chapter of the final arc).

Volume 10 is going to be released on October 22th.

The anime only adapted the first 9 chapters (and a bit of chapter 10 but skipped some plot-important points to not end in a cliffhanger).
Currently there's 40 chapters so the anime has a lot of material to adapt if they do a second season.

Glad to see the last volume of Zetsuen no Tempest and also the last one of Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden, although I wouldn't want an anime adaptation if they are going to do it like Arata Kangatari. Genbu Kaiden is superior to Fushigi Yuugi and Takiko has to be the best Watase heroine.

A surprise to see Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji, it had a drama CD recently if I'm not mistaken.

Checking Amazon Japan and other websites...

A comedy with deformed Eren and Mikasa when they were in middle school ?!?!

Odd but it might just work.....

The manga is published on May 20th but a few might have got sold before the official date and those manga sold would have been counted as sale in the previous week not this week.

Makes you wonder just how many manga have their sales counted per week. For the Top 50 to have a threshold of ~25k, this number must be big...

As the case for anime BD and DVD, they do count up to the Top 200/Top 300 respectively... but we only get to see the Top 100/Top 30 Animation respectively.

Wow, seeing the number of shoujo in the rankings, is it too much to hope for adaptations? Especially OSTKO.

And wow, Inu x Boku. They have to announce a second season, the manga gets really intense after Sou and Ririchiyo get together. Ahhh, I really want a second season. *__*

SnK is doing well in sales as usual, I'm not surprised at all. Glad that Zetsuen's doing well. :D

As for LNs, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi is doing surprisingly well. O.o I haven't seen it on rankings in a long time...

Given how poorly shoujo anime has sold lately I am not holding my breath for adaptations of those any time soon.

Inu x Boku SS OTOH sold pretty well and there is a ton of material left so I am surprised they haven't announced a second season yet.
