W0ot!!!!!!!!!! ^____^ GO KUROBAS! close to 20k! Its still out of stock in amazon and will only be in stock on September 10th. So we might we a good third or fourth week as well. :D

Poor Another...:( I wish it sold better.

Inu Boku gets another 795 copies under its belt. Its BD probably got some too but we probably won't see it.

Accel World dropped a bit....I think?

Nice sales. I think Nise needs one more week to keep its average of ~58.6k per volume? Would like to see it at 60k average... but it'll need around ~7k more to get to that =/

Nise'll most likely average 55k, see'ing as Otaku have their hands full atm with the recent shows, and the previous ones too lol (Tari Tari 11k, SenjouHorizon 21k+, SAO 30k+, Fate 26k+, Not to mention Persona 4, and those 3-5k shows, etc) its unlikely that it'll average 60k, so 55k sounds more reasonable, but then again, it's already at the 5th volume, so it might just average higher than that, who knows.

Man, I'm so sorry for Symphogear.
From what I heard, it was originally supposed to be 26 episodes, but it got axed and the ending was super rushed. I enjoyed it, but I would have loved to see it how it was supposed to be. They fered low sales, but even the rushed version did decently...

Not really... most anime realeasing its disc after 3 month its airing time, n releasing 1 disc per 1-& half month, you got 9-12 month for 6 disc like Hagsnai then.

EDIT.. Its 11 month for completing its disc sales since the airing.. dunnp what so weird with that. But yeah Haganai releasing its first disc later than other fall 11 anime.

Isn't it already at ~58.5k average after this week's sales? It would be ~59.6k average if the previous week's Vol 5 sales have already been added in for the current ~58.6k average listed on the Anime Sales thread. Unless a 6th BD+DVD volumes are on the way... or I calculated wrong?

Aniplex and Amazon had conflict before I heard. So Fate/Zero BD-BOX II hasn't been up on Amazon for a normal amount of time. 26k is very under-estimated for something that sold 51.3k for the 1st BD-BOX.

you can see above that P4 has already reached its 10th volume

other 1-cour Autumn shows such as Horizon (7 volumes) finished ages ago

kinda surprised how slow their marketing strategy is

maybe they were planning it from the beginning so the last volume is closer or not to far from the 2nd season

Yeah that might be true, however if the next volumes sell lower then apparently the average outcome would be less than 58k. (Or the 5th vol is the last one? if that's the chase then 58K is likely).

Yeah, 26k doesn't seem quite right, but then again, Persona 4 was at 41k+ and dropped down to barely 30k, and unfortunately, at this rate it might average less than that, most animes, especially those top sellers, start their first 3 volumes's sales pretty high, then they start dropping gradually.

but like i said before, the otaku got their hands full right now, so yea lol

Like I said, Vol. 1 wasn't adequately stocked so it's probably sold more over time, but not enough to rank each week, so we don't know how much it's truly sold.

You can see the same with Mouretsu Pirates or Tiger & Bunny. Shows that were more popular than the distributor expected, and didn't print enough copies for the first volume.

Sounds fair.
Btw how much do you expect SAO, KuroBas, Horizon and TariTari to average? I know the sales are still going, but how much do you personally think each of them would average?

Btw Jmal, do you mind if i add you?

Horiozn II and SAO will probably averages around 15-20k/volumes with 20-22k for the first week sales

though I'm not really sure about SAO since we still have around 2 months before the 1st BD released, anything can happen within 2 months (slash) 8 episodes like what happened to Kokoro Connect recently

Any idea why Vol. 6 has sold so much? I figured it must have had an event ticket packed in or something else because this is a huge huge jump over previous volumes. Hell it's even 22% better than Vol. 1's total. This usually only happens for bonus episodes or something like that but I don't see anything listed for this volume except an artbox.

Oh and btw, a French guy who was art director on Symphogear posted that good news is coming for fans... possibly a sequel? I'd be up for that, even if I'm disappointed at something that didn't happen at the end of season one.

Maybe the PS3 game had affected the anime sales? I'm not certain, but that's my theory lol.

Well, honestly, they all bombed about equally badly. Sankarea is lower, but they're all rather abysmal (under 2k BDs). A shame since I liked Another and Tasogare. Sankarea was alright too.

It's a shame that Sankarea, Another and Tasogare bombed so hard. But the weird thing is that all 3 of them involve occultism or horror stuff. So I guess the Japanese Otaku don't like this kind of theme in their late night Anime. I wonder how well other horror/occultism series have done in the past.

Another at least has a lot of resources as a franchise to stay alive, with the Live Action movie, the novels and the Manga.

It's not something that tops the charts often, no. There are no shows since 2000 that have averaged 10k or better that I'd classify as real "horror" anime.

Not sure about "occult" since that's a bit harder to define but I'd guess shows like Death Note or Tsukihime or Mononoke would fall under that, so those occasionally sell well.

Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai are pretty "occult" too, and they sold great. But that might just be because of Type Moon loyalty instead of normal anime trends.

I can't believe how successful Nisemonogatari is. It's definitely a cultural hit.

Most Type-Moon's stuff sells tons, they have a large otaku fanbase, one of the largest in the Anime and VN industry, heck even Fate/Stay night the eroge is still ranking in getchu up to this day. i have yet to see a Type Moon product that wasn't a success.

Really glad to see Haganai selling nearly 10k in the first week, I had high hopes for this show from the beginning. Can't wait to see more. It's almost sad how it's even outdoing Hyouka though

also, just seeing now that there's more Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, nice to see it up there. Great show
