I think in 99 out of 100 times black & white pages look much better than colored ones.

In a physical manga, many of them have 1 or 2 chapter pages that are colored. I kind of like that.
Black and white is the preferable way to go.
Today, I may be a weak little bug that gets tossed in the wind,
washed away by the currents, and drowns, but tomorrow,
I may become the butterfly that spreads its colossal wings and flies the open skies!

Webtoons are almost always colored.
Paper based manga is kind of lame.

I prefer black & white in general, but the colored ones can be nice sometimes (like when you get some really gorgeous colored art for the beginning of a new volume/chapter for example).

I’m still opting for B&W though seeing some colored pages can be really nice (the one at the start of Volume 2 for Bloom Into You looks so good as an example)

Both are fine for me, as I'd read manga either way.

I usually always prefer black and white since that's what they're like when you physically buy the volumes (except of course series that were pressed officially to color like Dragon Ball/Jojo's Bizarre Adventure). So it more comes down to the publishing itself, if I could find more series that were pressed in color, I would probably read them with color more often.

Black and white. Having bought and read manga magazines for years, I find it more difficult to read a series of color pages.

The color version may be beautiful, but it is doubtful that the author himself specified the colors and painted some parts, and the additional work of coloring will greatly reduce the author's time for writing the manga. In the case of a serialized manga, it is possible for the author to get sick and stop the series, which would affect his/her stamina, so considering this, it would be better to use black and white, with the occasional color page on the cover.

I also think that color would increase the price of the manga magazine and the manga itself, making it more difficult for child readers to buy and read the manga, which would reduce the number of readers and shrink the size of the manga industry.

I would enjoy manga more if it was colored. It looses so much for not being a standard. Then again, some manga are better black and white. Its the same with other regions comics. It all depends on what type of story and feeling you wanna convey, color has a very important role in that. Its one of the reasons why many look at anime in amazement cause it brings in that much needed color the manga leaves out (among other things).

Depends on art style since the more detailed styles look great black and white but something more simple drawn might look better in solour but not always just depends how the colour is used. There also can be nice middle ground where an image is most black and white but uses some accent colours which looks pretty good when used right.

I don't think I've ever read a manga that was full colour. It would be cool to have more full colour manga, it never bothered me reading uncoloured.

If all the colored pages looks like the covers like how some manga does with 1/2 pages of a beginning of a volume, then that would be ideal.

However, I'm not really fond of the coloring style of most full colored manga/manhwa. Full colored manga like Shadow House has too many black lines, personally not a fan of that style + colors. I prefer clean style with colors. For webtoons, the coloring are usually clean but I can see that details are being compromised, especially if compared to their covers - the coloring on the normal pages are usually a lot simpler.

So I picked B&W.

Black and white is just more easier info to digest. But a few colored pages here and there is not bad

For some scenes yes, the character designs from a distance, the bubbles can be hard to read (granted even coloured manga when they have the text with no bubble it can be hard to read still but it's worse with black and white I find being so small or so tightly put in there).

But in general nah don't mind either, even if I have very few coloured manga I've actually read. Only proabably around 2-5 maybe without even considering Manhwa I've read.

Just remembering the coloured manga now. What 1.Romantic Killer as reading Volume 4 currently. 2.Senpai is Annoying has it's odd colour scheme, 3.Tawawa on Monday with it's blue instead of black so technically black and white but blue and white instead. Can go either way with that one or it being well monochrome then colour I guess.

Some others probably forgetting or are manhwa maybe but I usually can tell by the name terms rather than the design sometimes, even if read probably about 10 or so manhwa I think.

@777Looma Well, these are special colored pages by Araki so it looked great. But JoJo colored are pretty good.

Prefer black and white most of the time. But getting colored pages at start of a chapter is pretty cool.

I can't get into Manhwa and one of the reason is I really don't like the coloring. I can't really explain what about it that I don't like but colors feels very boring to me.

@LuluThetka Totally agreed with this. It's fun to have that bit of imagery to clench onto for further scenes but not having the colors makes me appreciate the art/linework more, in a weird way

Black looks more impressive with all the different shades/shading imo.
Coloured tends to look like a cheap comic.

Rather not see color in manga. Monochrome/Black And White panels hit way different.
i also read webtoons, manhwa, manhua and imo it fits much better there.

Out of the two I think b&w pages carry more weight than coloured. Having a couple coloured pages is nice, but it's not necessarily needed.

I prefer colored manga because it's easier for me to read, sometimes when i read b&w i can't determine what's happening on the panel(Blade of the Immortal would be one example)and on top of that it looks better in my opinion
