It's not even 5 years, it's 8 years. He left to Roa when he was around 7 to the Boreas household and he is 15 now. So him recognizing Sylphie who went through a lot of visual changes unlike himself with his face would be a bit more difficult that way. He did have a lot going on in those 8 years. |
| PEAK ARC is finally here 😩 Bind are blessing us this season. Had goosebumps the entire episode. Finally, we get the proper OP and ED visuals and both are really good. I think the first season’s first OP visuals were better, but this one’s good as well. Lot of symbolism in them with the colours symbolising the women in Rudeus life. LN readers will get it We also finally arrive at the Ranoa Magical University and I love the way it looks in the anime. Really does give off a strong sense of wonder and fantasy. Fitz’s reaction to Rudeus not forgetting his friend and still looking for her after all this time was so cute. Totally changed her mood. LOVED the scene of her threatening everyone who was outside accusing Rudeus of stealing the pants. Tfw no tomboy gf to protect me 😔 And what a nice wholesome moment between the two of them at the end of the episode. That wink from Fitz got Rudy questioning his sexuality lmao. Awesome episode. |

| Pretty worried about the series staying in one place yet again instead of exploring the world like the first season did. I like the characters but I do not care for a school arc. |

| Surprise surprise. The moment he went to school show went to shit. What's next? Competition of sorts? He has to do homework and has no time for personal life. Why do I get the feeling they will hit every trope branch on their way down from the top of the issekai tree. |

Drusix said: Exploration and fighting is a part of the series but never the core identity of the series at all. It's always been about Rudeus' character and how he navigates through life and grows up to be more responsible and live the life he never could in his previous life. This means overcoming mental health struggles, building friendships and eventually a family in the long run and learn from the mistakes and accusations he made with his own family in the past. Action and lore are only an element of this series, they were never the main focus. There is adventuring in the future and action is more relevant down the line but first and foremost, the priority of this series is about characters, and for Rudeus right now, healing from his struggles, overcoming ED and building friendships that he never got to make.MangagnaM said: I don't care about his mental health or these new students. Since it is focused mainly on Rudeus living his daily life and growing up, making mistakes and going through struggles and overcoming them in the long run. |

| Finally the school arc starts. Been ages since I read this part of the LN but I think this will probably be pretty popular since MAL loves it's high school settings. And a lot of new characters will be getting a lot of lines and play time soon. |

| Pretty eager to see the rest of this arc. Lots of characters and stuff to explore. I wish I could read this arc, but apparently the manga is not a proper adaptation. The novel seems like a pain to read because vol 1 felt like I was being told the story rather than experiencing it first hand. (Please let me know if this changes, because it looks like a major writing issue to me above anything) |

Gives him time to also heal himself since he's been busy for 5 years on the road while dealing with a lot emotionally and physically along the way. | It was nice to see Rudy and Sylphy get reunited again. They both finally enrolled at Ranoa academy. You can tell that Syphy still admires Rudy after all these years. She helps him clear the misunderstanding of the panty situation with the girls outside. Rudy going to the library to do "research" was hilarious. This man is dedicated on curing his E.D. |

| Dont tell me Rudeus isnt going to find out Fitz is Sylphie for a while? Thats just cruel! Some classmate knows Eris, lets see when that comes up again. Luke is related to Rudeus? Interesting. Im curious about the pacing, did they skip a part or did they really just arrive at the university even though it was supposed to be a long journey? Im disappointed to be honest, the realism and attention to detail are what made this special for me and now we skip these kind of parts to have no travel times? So the insanely horny lady has been cursed, here I was wondering if she was actually a succubus. Not far off considering the nature of the course though. I wonder if it is even real. Ps: im really curious about the story, I was expecting the journey to be the next big chunk of story but now we have a school setting? If we are already here then I wonder what comes next. Straight to proper adventuring? PPS: I have been wondering why this ep felt so odd, its a legit OP, definitely wasnt missing that before. |

| It feels pretty weird to see the very first OP animation for Mushoku Tensei after all of these episodes, which in a way, makes sense as Rudeus isn't travelling anymore for now since he's enrolled at Ranoa University. Still, the OP itself looked amazing and fits well with the song. =) Just like with Rudeus, Elinalise also enrolled into the university as well. I do like how Rudeus gave her advice on adjusting her skirt length and the use of stockings, though! XD "Fitz" played a good part of the episode, not only from the silent casting battle between the two, but also how Fitz helped Rudeus when he was falsely accused of stealing Princess Airel's underwear. The friendship between them is already pretty strong, but it's pretty obvious that Rudeus is actually talking to none other than Sylphie. I think she recognises Rudeus easily, but hopefully it's only a matter of time before Rudeus will recognise her true identity properly soon enough. That much was also shown in the ED animation, also used for the first time in the second season. The visuals work really well with Yuiko Ohara's vocals, I must say. Overall, this was a very enjoyable start to Rudeus's time at university. The next episode's title, however, gives me a bit of a bad feeling... |
