Damn, those shooting skills sure come in handy at the fair. Chisato made that took easy. It also feels like Chisato and Takina got even closer this episode.

Too bad not everything is all just fun and games. Chisato fought like a champ though and tbh, she makes almost everything look easy.

Great episode again. I love to see Chisato and Takina in action. Also, their friendship is so cute to watch.

An artificial heart, huh? Chisato reminds me of Jean-Luc-Picard.

That twist with Mr. Matsushita was pretty shocking.

Also, poor Lycoris who was brutally killed at the end. :(

Great episode! Chisato has a fully mechanical heart it seems.
She and Takina are tasked with guiding a wealthy old man who is unable to move anywhere himself around the area he grew up in/has an attachment to.
Chisato's shooting skills at the shoot down object game at the amusement park thingy were very good!
They lost contact with Mizuki after she was attacked...
Matsushita went off by himself. He knows about Jin being here and wanting to kill him.
He asks Chisato to kill Jin... but she refuses as she doesn't want to take a person's life.
Seems Matsushita doesn't really exist at all...

I wonder if the series will end with Chisato dying because of her heart failing or something perhaps? Or some sort of tragic sequence of events? Though that is quite far away from episode 5 of course.
Looking forward to the next episode!

The Metro derailing incident truly is the Alan Institute in action, though this is clearly a cover-up from DA to hide the Lycoris's presence. Kurumi finding out Chisato's true mission, but that's for the latter to decide how she's gonna act on it.

The next job: helping an elderly man with a terminal illness escape death from being a target, and a high horse at that, but with high risk comes high rewards. And this Mr. Matsushita that's basically the equivalent of Stephen Hawking, the Lycoris help him live out his best days with the sightseeing tour of Tokyo. It's the same easy-going, go-getting atmosphere that's just as fun as anything else.

The assassin: Silent Jin, someone whom Mika knows intimately due to his skills, he's a tough nut to crack that thanks to Mizuki's transmission, is able to track him down, and this brings back the high-octane action with the real mission: eliminate Jin, and by that meaning wanting him dead.

Chisato's terminal heart, it's clear that the Alan Institute is doing a favour for her, and Matsushita isn't the old man whom they thought he is. All of this, leads to a sobering truth: the terrorists are still at large, and Chisato's owl pendant is definitely the key to solving the overall case.

For now, their friendship treasure is growing strongly.

This show better be a yuri cause Chisato and Takina are just perfect together.

I like how each episode is supposed to be a simple mission or task but it ends up all connected to the main plot.
There are a lot of mysteries going on specially with that last scene with the Lycoris being completely destroyed.

Ah and Kurumi is really cute

Ahhh, this episode was everything I could have asked for at this point. I was waiting for Chisato backstory and we got it!

I love how seamlessly this show blends its comedy and humor with the dark and heavy moments, it was done so perfectly this episode that I couldn't help but smile even in the midst of all of the action~ And the action was great! For the first time (for me, at least), this felt truly tense, especially after Takina was hit. I also loved the emotion we got from Chisato yelling her name but plz don't ever make her have to yell for Takina like that again.

There were so many interesting questions posed this week, and my head is honestly spinning a little bit trying to wrap my head around all of them. I really hate how that Lycoris in the beige uniform was killed so ruthlessly and shot so unnecessarily after the fact- I'm sure that won't be the last. I wonder what Chisato will choose to do in the end, and what the Alan Institute truly wants from her. But most importantly, I appreciated how inquisitive Takina was this episode. She just wants answers about Chisato's artificial heart, very understandable~ I think I need to start keeping a blush counter for this show. As usual, I loved every moment focused on the two of them.

Next week will be exciting! I can't wait, especially now that we have so many pieces in motion and we're nearing a halfway point of sorts~

We can always go somewhere again.

i can barely call the action scenes sakuga on that one lol

but Chisato has an artificial heart huh and enhance insight so ye she might be a Cyborg some Transhumanism project

i wonder if Takina might become a Cyborg too then her and Chisato will become enemies in the end

i thought Chisatos wishes are top priority but looks like Alan Institute wants her to do something instead like becoming a cold blooded killer instead of her pacifist choices

I think this is what the plot is about so far, considering this episode and what Alan said in the episode 4: "A genius is a gift from God. They must be delivered to the world. Even the rarity of a genius for killing."

So Lycoris outfits are based on Raijin(雷神=God of Thunder) and Fuujin(風神=God of Wind). Makes sense considering they are protecting the city. Interesting. Love how they seamlessly mix in stuff about the characters.

The "in public" scene at 11:04 though (〃ノωノ) 22:23 Well she did say "not in public" XD.

Well he's more charismatic than I thought he was. He still has the man power to take down the tower. On another note, I'm looking forward to knowing more about the Alan institute.

Was strange the whole situation, about the guy being safe overseas, and in danger just in Japan. So was okay the revelation.

I predict that at the end Chisato very disappointingly will spare the group who is hunting Lycoris.

Was sad what happened to that Lycoris, but she tailed for too long.

More death-flags for Chisato IMO.

Artificial heart huh?

Can it have an expiration date perhaps? This is what came to my mind immediately. I doubt it's "ironman" level tech that can virtually work forever.

Chisato isn't the first character who's all smiles while hiding the fact they're gonna die soon or something.

She's been given the heart for a reason, but she's not willing to kill anyone... This surprised the wheelchair-puppet-guy.

What could've caused surprise? Maybe because it's contradicting the purpose?

Chisato may have been given the heart purely because she was a very useful murder-machine and the institute didn't want to lose a useful tool like her.

Chisato, however, doesn't want to be just a tool, changed her ways and wants to preserve life instead. It makes sense now. She apparently died once already and was given a second chance. She doesn't want to use this second chance (or the remaining lifespan) on taking lives of others. She my be seeing herself in all those "evil henchman" she occasionally encounters and spares them precisely because she was shown the kindness once (from the enemy maybe?).

If Chisato was given the heart to fulfill a mission she doesn't want to fulfill, she may well know her heart will stop working (won't be prolonged) and may have accepted the fate and is spending the remaining lifespan doing what she enjoys. I mean she already said this to Takina and doesn't seem to have regrets. I assume the institute can prolong Chisato's life if she does what they tell her to do (which involves murders obviously). But, if Chisato isn't doing any of that, there's no reason for the institute to prolong her life - obviously. Yet, since Chisato is very special, the institute is likely not giving up on her yet and wants to bait her into becoming a killer-machine again. She was baited into killing the assassin this episode after all. If Chisato breaks and accepts that her purpose is to be a murder-machine, the institute surely wins so this may be the task they're trying to achieve.

This is just my theory however.

P.S That overkill in the end though... poor girl.

Oh no :( That would be way more painful than anything I'm imagining right now. But I could see it as Takina wanting to repay Chisato for everything she's done for her.

I really like this anime so far. The artificial heart stuff in this episode pretty much confirms that something messed up or very sad stuff is to come in the later episodes. Depending on how they execute it, it might just make me love and praise the show as a whole even more - because they wouldn't be afraid to kill off a main cast character.

Also, why doesn't Takina use a suppressor on her sidearm? I guess the whole city is just deaf, so it's fine...

The fight was so anticlimatic.. "Silent Jin", a veteran asassin got beaten by a small girl in not even a second. Anyway, we got some big reveal with Chisato concerning her artifical heart and that it comes from Alan, some kind of mystery organization from that blonde dude we keep saying. Well, their bond is getting stronger each episode. The last few minutes were hilarious as hell where the Lycrois girl got ran over by a car. That dude knows how to kill.

The artificial heart is pretty interesting. Such a thing would probably require upkeep right? Maybe the show will just ignore this and wave it off as a something with a super mega battery or whatever but it could be something like where if she doesn't kill anyone Alan could threaten to stop her heart in some way.

Also seeing a high school girl get run over and then mowed down is a bit of a meme.

So the whole escort mission turned out to be a lie in an effort to get Chisato to kill. We don't know what the endgame is for the Alan Institute that involves Chisato killing, but we do know that Chisato has an artificial heart. The brutal death of the Lycoris girl at the end is a sign of things to come as the terrorist are beating them at their own game.

Another phenomenal episode of LycoReco. Matsushita not actually being Matsushita def took me by surprise but it seems like his coms went offline when he started talking about Chisato’s past. Someone doesn’t want her to know about that.

Sakuga was outstanding during the Jin fight scenes, but poor Mizuki getting ran around like that all episode lol.

Was not expecting to see a lycoris get straight up murdered like that tho damn RIP. Shits about to get dark.

And of course it wouldn’t be LycoReco without Yurification at the end:

Oh boy, the artificial heart detail will definitely spark many theories and whatnot. I'm guessing the show will not end merrily but I'll hold off until there's more to work with.

Alan Institute, their motives are shrouded in mystery for now. Damn, that poor Lycoris got knocked over by the car and then minced with bullets in the end there. Quite a few Lycoris down over the last couple of episodes, I wonder how DA will respond to this.

Matsushita-san passing away seemed fairly obvious to me but for what it to have been some time back was a surprise! And the assassin's client, seemed fishy a bit. I wonder if it's okay to just let the assassin free again though, I know they might've had some connections in the past but ...

Can't get over how good the ED is, still. Yofukashi no Uta, RWBY and this one!
