From what I have seen so far, the older brother's misogynistic comment seems out of place, as if the author wanted to attract the female audience for this past March 8 (remember that the brother does not think like that because if so, he would not have given Kaguya weapons in order to defend herself in the future). In any case, the arc hasn't progressed much at all and it seems that Miko has a plan.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

This is one of the mixed bag chapters but holy fuck I think I just lost my sanity while reading this because Chika is sacrificing herself in this chapter with a massive development in record time, it made me feel like she's different than what I've seen in her bright side, at least she's standing up for Kaguya with such audacity! The moment where she discusses the term "misogynistic" genuinely disgusted me as I do feel like this is the most unbearable subject to talk about in a sensitive area and still the older brother's misogynistic way of thinking about it is still vague so couldn't blame for that topic to be brought up.

But eh in the end, Aka manages to give out a subject that I somehow think and think not that Aka is trying to gain any females attention from whatever age demographics to be aware about the subject matter of Extortion, Prejudice, Prostitution, and etc. plus other than that, Aka also raises a point to how the internet and influencers can distribute information to huge amounts of people which is what I assure to what Miko is doing in the latter chapters. Also I wonder what is up with Shirogane and Ishigami right now, maybe a POV in their end would be great.

Jesus Christ, I'm sick of this goddamn arc, and hear the goddamn m word coming out of Chika was the puking moment. I'm not interested in your CCP doctrination Akasaka. Do you really think so many people bought your manga because Fujiawara is a rich commie who thinks everybody is oppressing her? I've read this manga for the gags but now I have to watch some communist fantasy about fighting the elites, urgh.

It's true-to-life seeing people from big monopolies (like the Shinomiyas) thinking themselves as untouchable.

Good on Chika and Iino for putting him in his place.

Last panel with the game cover is gold. Especially "and Fujuwara" in the style of Sonic 3.

I'm genuinely pissed right now. I've loved pretty much everything up til the Class Trip Arc, especially the content with Ishigami and Hayasaka, two of the best characters in the series for me, personally. However, this pathetic excuse of crapsack family drama writing has been nothing but pain to get through. Way to ruin what used to be my #1 manga. At least it hasn't reached rock-bottom like how the Attack on Titan manga did.

Fujiwara just cancelled Seiryu into oblivion lmao. It was really cool to see Fujiwara like this.

Damn, Hayasaka really left a backdoor in the Shinomiya network and spoofed a MAC address, fucking based.

"I swear, everyone in that family is a Goddamn ninja or something." That line killed me lmao.

"However, there are some things you can't protect by just doing the right thing." Knowing Miko, this line hit hard.

I'm so glad Chika Fujiwara is doing something serious even tho it seems a bit out-of-place.
Anyways, what I got from this chapter is that the Hayasakas are ninjas as well, on top of being badasses.

I feel like im reading a radically different series than the one your describing, this is barely veering into drama throwing in gags and goofy things frequently and it pretty much hasn't had any big tonal shifts aside from the break up early in, and even the actual plot related stuff has been very intentionally light. Pretty much the entirety of the focus has been on the characters with as minimal to the shinomiya politics as needed its barely taking up screentime. I mean we are talking about the series that had an entire chapter dedicated to the proper way to drain water from microwave noodles a few weeks ago for crying out loud.

It feels like people got hung up on the concept of the final arc thinking a political arc and then getting so focused on that idea they somehow miss just how little the final arc actually has anything focusing on that.

so many romcom mangas always fail with the ending. It's clear that everything is going to end in happiness. Shinomiya and Kaguya will get back together all of that good stuff. This arc is supposed to be meant for some kind of suspense but it's just wasted chapters/pages that could've been used for things that made me fall in love with this manga such as the funny gags, overexaggerated monologues, episodic chapters where the characters just sit down in a room and make fun of each other, etc. That's why I fell in love with this manga. There have been dramatic arcs but none as dramatic as this. It's obvious as to what is going to happen so why continue to stretch it when pretty much everyone knows how it's going to end? Sometimes a dramatic ending is not what is needed especially considering it is a lighthearted manga that has always advertised itself as one. I guess this is the kind of thing that gets people looking forward to each chapter every week but that's not for me.

Akasaka is just showing that he cant write good stories for shit. This arc is the same as the class trip one, trying to be serious but it ends up being hilarious (in a bad way). I wish he had carried the series differently, it could have been so much better if he stuck to comedy altogether. One or two arcs wont destroy the series for me which is still my favorite but I'm disappointed, the high schoolers winning vs big mafias is hard to read

Well, I for one am enjoying the arc. It's true, the serious part is treated with the gravity of a telenovela plot, but... we're reading the manga equivalent of a soap opera, so I'm fine with it. I think it's good to have a "big bad", something for our star-crossed couple to overcome. A through line of the series is how Kaguya's status as a Shinomiya hangs over her and oppresses her - remember the early chapter where she walks to school for the first time, and reflects on how her privileged car-bound status has made her isolated? Also, remember the firework chapter, where again her status as a Shinomiya isolates her from the rest of her peer group? It makes sense that the "big bad" of the series is the tangible form of that separation from her peers.

Honestly, my only complaint is how passive Kaguya is. I'm not a fan of the "damsel in distress" scenario, which this plotline very much is. I wish Kaguya was being a bit more proactive in her attempts at freedom. That said, I think the explanation the author provided in the text, namely that Kaguya feels bound to the people working for the Shinomiya Family, makes sense. Kaguya was essentially raised as later-day nobility, and a "good" aristocrat always feels responsible for the people working on their estate. So, from that point of view, her willingness to passively accept her fate makes sense.

I'm happy that all the various student council members are getting their chance to shine. Good development from Iino in this chapter, and Chika's demonstrating her social jujitsu.

Overall, another great chapter. I'm looking forward to the next one!

The main problem with this chapter is that Chika's comments are contradicted by the manga itself. Kaguya does view marriage as the ultimate happiness, and the goal of a committed and loving relationship is consistently reinforced as more important that wealth or status. Chinka herself has always been presented as a somewhat lacking and immature character because she's the only prominent character who is not pursuing a committed relationship.

The end result is that her speech feels out of place in the story, and the only reason it is passable is because Kaguya's older brother is an objectively terrible person.
