Lmao At first, I thought, something's wrong with my computer as it's quite old & it acts out from time to time... Then I tried to fix my settings etc. to get rid of those emojis.

When that didn't work, I did go highlight the emojis - et voilà - I see the scores.

Next, the most natural action, is to research on MAL forums what the hell's going on (coz MAL is obviously having tech bugs or somethin').

And so here I am, totally having forgotten it's April 1st... Now I remember...

That at least confirms it's not just me, which is kind of relieving. However, my issue is that it's, well, completely impractical. The reason being that, well, to get anywhere in the list I have to go through the page load process over and over and over again, when up until yesterday, the list loaded, and all I had to wait on were the associated images. Which was significantly faster than what we now have to do, which is to wait for pages to load many times.

I want the old system , it's more easier for me and way more accurate
One more point is that the old system is more helpful to decide if the anime show was worthy or not (not always but mostly)

You misunderstand. Images were loading fine, as I scrolled to the matching entries on the list. I'm saying that the new list layout is outright slower than the old "load all the entries at once" method

From my POV, i can say it`s not a bad change. I think we should be allowed to use the old thing as well.
There are some people that like emojis, i can understand that, but there are some that love numbers...
To make it easy to understand, it`s way easier to understand why FMAB is number one if you are able to see how much of 100 it has. I don`t really like those, i get it... it may atract the younger ones... (i`m still young!!!), but for me it`s really hard to adapt to it. I dont want to be forced to see those emojis, i want to turn them off while i`m on.
Talking about those guys that rate everything 10 or 1, I think this change doesn`t change much about it... those guys are still going to do what they did before.
Please tell me how to disable them, i don`t want emojis...
Don`t turn this thing into facebook/ instagram, i`m fed up of Zucc!

Seriously, i`m using this site to filter series. Those emojis make it hard for me, i don`t want somethin` hard...

That`s all, i`m going to cry about my age. I`M NOT OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This update is misleading, 7.99 anime and 7.00 anime now they are the same in this update, which is good (👏), but u know good anime usually start from 7.5 and higher, in this update which made for brats to enjoy this shit emoji

Personally I think the complaints that other users don't know how to 'effectively use' the 10 score system are stupid. I could care less about how other people decide to score things they watch for their personal enjoyment.
However, I think the 0.5 increment system could be a nice improvement, though I guess I'd be fine if it wasn't implemented.

But please, please, please, please make this emoji-score thing a changeable setting. I'd personally not like to see it when I'm using the site, but feel free to let others choose to turn that setting on.

This completely beats the purpose of MAL. The actually decimal scoring system was very useful in finding new Anime, easily rating them, comparing them, and so on. I've always felt the need for more than just 1-10 scoring, maybe just adding ±.5 scores, if not scoring out of 100. Instead, this is a detrimental step of categorizing tens of thousands of Anime into 10 broad categories.

i dont know if this is still a option but honestly the scoring was better with numbers, the pictures look really stupid and its kinda harder to see what its ranked at and looks so out of place and i cant understand why you guys would even spend time on something like that. if so why half ass it if you were going to do it this could of had the number ontop with different ranks in the back ground like how games show ranks but this is something that looks like a kid would do, hell its not even anime themed it feels more like what face book would do. iv said my piece and i hope this is still up for descussion or at least take some of this on board as iv been with this site since 2014 and dont really want to think about wanting to change due to odd changes. another thing you could do is just simple have the number with a colour code like they do with rain forcasts.
