Well, damn. I still find it hard to believe what this has actually happened... Literally whole day is ruined for me. All I can offer is a prayer for all the people affected of this atrocity.

It is a request from one Japanese anime fan.

Please don't donate in the unofficial channel. In Japan, unofficial crowdfunding, which may be a fraud, is rampant.

If Kyoto Animation has created an official channel, please donate there. Or please support by buying Kyoto Animation Blu-ray.

I pray for the safety of the Kyoto Animation staff.

I re-quoted it so people can see..
As much we want to help KyoAni, we have to know the source first..

Waking up to the news...just awful.

Btw, according to reports, the man who started the fire not only poured gasoline on people inside the building, but he was waiting outside of the building holding knives to stab people who tried to escape. This crazy bastard was vile.

Some reports are saying the arsonist was "ripped off" by KyoAni as the reason.

And as a cost of that, as he believes, is to burn the innocent people in there. Fucking senseless.

This tragedy is going to be terribly painful for their loves ones and colleagues for a long time. Lives lost can never be brought back.

In time, I hope they get through this. I'm very sorry this happened.

I can only hope the best for the survivors and those who have lost someone important to them. I really wonder what the motive was here. And with currently 25 confirmed dead, I wonder what's going to happen to KyoAni.

I've been desensitized for things like this in recent years.

Nevertheless, this is a really shocking event for quite some time in Japan, out of all place.

Moreover it's against an animation studio that is known as one of the better studio out there in terms of treatment towards staffs and good production.

Condolences to the victims and their families.

I have looked carefully into this tragic event. I hope that those who passed away will find perpetual peace, and that those who are injured will recover soon. But most importantly, I want to express my most heartfelt condolence to everyone who is involved. I have tried to find out how could someone committed to such an inhumane crime, and have heard lots of different stories. Some says he shouted that his works were stolen before burning down KyoAni's office, others affirms differently. But whatever truly lies deep inside that man, it is just utterly disgusting and intolerable for him to relentlessly take away so many lives. Not to mention besides from his enemies that he killed, he must had hurt so many innocents and broke countless of people's heart, from relatives, to friends of the victims.

Once again, I want to express my condolence to all the victims and their love-ones who are suffering from this terrifying tribulation.

Wow, this is horrible news. An act like this doesn't happen in Japan every day. It will take a while for the survivors to recover. This is a dark chapter for Anime. :(

The person responsible like likely be hanged, and he certainly deserves to be. Killing more than one person in Japan generally warrants hanging, and this guy killed 26 people(the total which is out at the time of this post).

This guy killed more people than Aum Shinrikyo, which makes him a major terrorist.

Keep your political nagging out of here! Jeez, kids these days don't know anything about respect for the dead or human dignity in general. You can open up your own thread to discuss your conspiracy theories, but this is neither the time nor place for that talk.

33 confirmed deaths already, jeez. Most of the deaths have seemed to occur on the upper floors, prob because they weren't able to evacuate in time. Kinds frightening to check up on this situation, because the news just seems to be getting worse and worse. First news on the situation made me want to believe that there's no deaths, and now we're already confirmed with a count that's almost 1/5 of a studio. Horrifying and absolutely fucked up. KyoAni's a studio filled with talented staff and animators and my condolences to the victims and their families.
