Some people just seem to douse themselves in perfume so I can relate to the urge to wince.

Not really. Now a girl with long hair who uses a really nice scented shampoo or conditioner whateves. That is like being slapped in the face with pheromones. Vanilla pheromones.

Honestly, no, but mainly because I have a scent sensitivity.

Pretty much anything with a strong smell makes me lightheaded. It really bothers me when my parents always have air fresheners plugged in. I keep having to unplug them, but when I tell them that they make me sick, they try to tell me that it's "All in my mind."

I hate my family.

No, I hate the smell of it and it is often too strong.

My signature perfume has vanilla and floral notes. I use Calvin Klein One Shock For Her as an everyday scent.

In addition, different perfumes have different compositions and intensity. I use light scents.

I don't like girls wearing perfume. Antiperspirant deodorants are fine of course, I can't even think of going anywhere without using these.

Besides you don't really need perfume if you are using quality hygiene products on your clothes and body.

But of course if you think it's necessary go for it. I couldn't care less.

I like minimal scents such as when you can smell perfume when you're close to someone or when you smell their "wind" as they pass you. Guys shouldn't be using AXE as an early morning shower!

I wear cherry blossom or vanilla perfumes. I hate perfume that smells like your grandma would wear it.

Uh that depends a lot. I think most don't even know what it is. There are different names given to different concentrations of fragrance. It differs by perfumer and company so this isn't precise.

  • Parfum: 20-40%
  • Espirit de Parfum: 15-30%
  • Eau de Parfum: 15-20%
  • Eau de Toilette: 5 – 15%
  • Eau de Cologne: 3-8%
  • Aftershave / Eau Fraîche: <3%

It also depends on the fragrance and what the other ingredients are because sometimes they add nasty chemicals. There also is the factor of how it smells on each individual. The way it is applied also has an effect a parfum is better applied with a dab applicator or as a solid perfume rather than an atomizer.

I find some to be nice and some quite repulsive. There also is the issue of allergies. Some people are allergic to certain ingredients so one should always be aware of that. It would be quite inappropriately inconsiderate to wear a strong perfume in close quarters with large amounts of people you don't know.

I'm usually not too big on purely floral scents because they tend to be unusual mixtures of different flowers or just too strong and not easy to identify. I seem to prefer more fruity or vanilla and fresh or woody or earthy fragrances. I think it would be fun to try doing perfumery and create fragrances. They don't seem too hard to make aside from if you were to make your own extracts.

i prefer to wear mens cologne because of the sexy intense smell rather the girly fruity shit we have which doesn't even last long.

the ones i wear are:
Diavolo - Antonio Banderas (you should check any of Banderas to be honest)
just play for him - Avon
and the one i would highly recommend for all men is fahrenheit - Dior (this make women go wild trust me)

remember. a person might forget your name but a familiar scent triggers memories and emotions.

I use it in moderation with light aromas. I understand how you feel though it can get really tensing, i had a friend of a friend who used heavy aromas and it definitely was a pain to endure when they were around.
Always nice to pass by some good aroma, the first impression of a person is important ;)

i really dislike incredibly potent smells so i tend to only wear perfume on special occasions.
and the way i wear it is by spritzing the air and then quickly walking through so that the
scent doesn't directly attach itself onto me.

I heard that's actually an improper way to apply it. Some of the alcohol evalorates in the air so it removes it's carrier making it so the fragrance doesn't travel as much making the scent too strong for anyone close to your application spot. Plus it wastes some of it. You either need a dab applicator or a solid perfume or something not as concentrated. I could be wrong though, it's just what I picked up from reading a little bit.

i like perfume as long as it's not sprayed 24/7 like some of the girls at my school who literally spray themselves any chance they can, i think there is a difference between smelling nice and overdoing it. as long as you put it on once or twice a day then it should be naisu

Yes - When someone who already smells good, correctly wears a little of good quality perfume.

No - When smelly people try to hide their smellyness with shittons of cheap perfume. Just take a bath instead.

god damn when it hits you it's like a religious experience i don't know why some girls don't just do this instead of cheap $5 VS perfume.

OT, though, i do use perfume, my only problems with it is how many people use the same one.
