I have a lot of manga I want to read, but not a lot of time. On my weekend days however, I do have time. Is it do-able to finish a 100+ chapter manga in a day?

Today I finished 4 One Piece books (Paramount War Arc)

I read and simultaneously skim through the long paragraphs on the speech balloons.

Conclusion: It doable.

I barely read manga but I can say that's pretty easy. To do some completely made up on the spot math if you're spending more than 15 seconds on a page you're probably taking too long (assuming the series isn't just paragraphs of monologues). So for 100 pages it averages out to about half an hour if you don't take any breaks using the 15 seconds per page measurement.

If you are talking about no. of pages then 100+ is more than do-able. Most manga I read have around 200 pages per volume and if I have the time (and interest) then I can finish around 4 to 5 volumes in a day. It's even easier and faster when you have a hard copy.

100+ manga =/= 100+ chapter manga

As long as you're talking about one-shot manga.

Yeah, I finished Koe no Katachi (64-ish chapters) in less than 8 hours. I remembered that time cause I had to go to school, the next day and I didn't sleep at home, instead I slept through my spanish class. So it is definitely doable, but it mostly depends on how wordy it is and how many pages it has.

As long as you're hooked enough and it's not too text-heavy, sure. I've done 100+ a couple times in the past. Over 150 might be pushing it though

I think that 80 chapters was my longest read in one day, but I only did that for a couple of hours, not the entire day.

I did 700 chapters of Detective Conan in one day.

Not recommended though, I got sick the next day.

depends the size of the chapters.
1 volume takes around 30 minutes - 1hr 30 minutes depending on the amount of text, how fast you read, and if you stop to look at the art.
there are around 7-10 chapters in one volume if the manga's serialization is weekly.
So Approx. 11 volumes for 100 chapters, yes it's doable.

Do-able. You'll do a sloppy job but it's do-able. I usually spend at least 5 minutes on a chapter.

No matter the rate of your cognition speed, if you yourself is overwhelmed by the number of pages already then it's impossible for the rest of your doubt.

But ideally and realistically it is doable. About 8 hours at max nitro.

I read Kokou no Hito in one night. Took me ~8-9h.

So I have to say yes. Ofc it depends on how fast you read, whether or not you freeze on a page to look at the art(I did sometimes, but I just couldn't stop reading), if you take any pauses, how meaty the dialogues are, how immersed you are in the story etc.

Highly vary from person to person, but it is definitely doable. You "just" have to be immersed in the story, not care about the number of chapter and read.

I salute you for this lol, if only I had the same motivation... Most I've read was 100 chapters of Berserk and that took me almost all night.

It's do-able, however i wouldn't recommend anyone to do it due to burnout reasons. You have a lot of manga to read and not a lot of time, but it's not like these manga will run away from you. Read at your own pace, if you feel that reading 100 chapters a day isn't making the experience less enjoyble then continue to do it... It's up to how you feel.

It's more of a natural thing, some manga hooked me in a way that i couldn't sleep untill i've finished, but i can't force myself reading that much chapters a day.

I'd say it depends on chapter page length
fastest I ever went was unbalance x 2 (~80 chapters) in like 4 days :/

Yes, but you will get legit tired.
Also, depends on the series... I recently I reread around 150++ chapters of Inuyasha when I was sick. If a series is dialog heavy or you want to look at the art it might take longer.

I dont recommend doing it too often tho

Depends on the type of manga and amount of dialogue as well as the number of pages per chapter. But yeah, it is doable.

I've read Elfen Lied in one day, and it's about 100 chapters. But it's not a good idea, since you can't appreciate chapters at their fullest

It depends to be honest.

I read Billion Dogs in about 5 hours, 70 very short chapters in 4 volumes.
Took me about 4 days to read Freesia which is 84 but the chapters are much longer and the plot more complex.

It is do-able. But it really does depend on the actual manga and how you read it. But it's better to read it slowly rather than rush, you can appreaciate/understand it better that way.

How the fuck can anyone pay attention to the drawings while reading this fast? Do you guys only move from text to text or what?

Still faster than me though, 1 chapter is 8-10 minutes for me usually.

I think it depends on how long the chapters are, and how easy the chapters are to read. Something that's really text heavy, or has a lot of action that you need to follow should probably be read a bit slower than, say, a slice of life 4-koma. Just don't read to the point where you're skimming and don't understand anything that's going on - no point of reading something if you can't remember what happened.

It's doable actually especially if you're talking about mangas that only have 20+ pages per chapter. I read I Am Hero in just 3 days (25 chapters per hour, do the math) due to it being not dialogue-heavy. If it's dialogue heavy and at least 40+ pages per chapter (like Umineko and Haruhi), that'll take a lot of time XD

Definitely doable if you read and look at the panels fast. Not for me though because I tend to look at all the details and think through the story. I can probably do 30 chapters at most.

Definitely not. Eye strain will fuck you up eventually. Plus when you say "read" I take that as actually understanding most of what's happening in every chapter, and that requires focus which you can simply not maintain for 24 hours at the same level.

I feel like with skimming through, it might be little more possible but very difficult

If it's low on dialogue, and so long as you're not really interested in soaking the detail of the art, it is plenty do-able. Actually with a good eye you can probably soak up and enjoy the detail of the art even while running through the manga. You can probably do it even doing the former case actually, but you'd need a faster brain than most. It basically depends on how much time you're actually willing to ponder over each chapter. If you skim through stuff the sky is the limit.
