So the other day I fansubbed my first anime. I enjoyed it a lot and it was really good practice for my Japanese. Since I graduated in Japanese I haven't had many opportunities to use my knowledge of the language. I'm looking for something new to sub and I am wondering if any of you have any suggestions? It could be anything from anime and dramas to games. I'm looking for something that hasn't been subbed yet, because it will make me more motivated to finish it.

The anime I subbed was Buddha 2. You can find the subs here:

kochikame pls. it's seriously popular back then. and the manga still strong... it also long run... you can also check what series that got sequel in the future but the prequel isn't subbed yet if you want to gain popularity fast like osisris no tenbin. you can also become manga translator.

I would like to see Kakko Kawaii Sengen! get subbed, but nyaa only has the first season raw and there are no seeders, so I don't know if that would even be possible.

Gulliver Boy

This was one of the very first anime that I watched in my life when I was back in Japan. I've looked around, but I never found any subs for it. It's the last piece to my anime childhood. If you can find it and make subs for it though, I will highly appreciate it.

It's a currently airing show with potential, so you might get lots of viewers. I think there's one fansubber that's ok with mistakes, you can also start by correcting their subs to make v2.

The anime that actually need subbing are the older ones from the 70s and 80s. Most newer anime will be subbed eventually but it's depressing to see a lot of good looking anime from the past that one may never be able to watch unless they learn Japanese.

Well, the only thing I feel is lacking right now are English subs for the Akage no Anne movie from 2010. I've only found Russian subs.

Maybe Queen Millenia? http://myanimelist.net/anime/1548/Shin_Taketori_Monogatari__1000-nen_Joou?

Only 25 episodes have been translated. There's a certain private tracker that has disc images for it.

Hi. first of all it's great to see someone taking the initiative on subbing and even better to see Buddha 2 was your first pick. I am grateful for your efforts!

Now regarding to your question, there are various things that can be done that would be extremely helpful. The first thing is completing the fansubs for shows that have only been partially subbed and have noone working on them currently.
Or if you prefer working on movies and OVAs, there are also a lot of classics and even more recent ones that never got subs.
Lastly there's the option of going for specials, picture dramas etc.. of shows to make sure the complete franchise is available subbed. Sometimes it can be frustrating to wait for years just to never see those specials get subbed. But I imagine it wouldn't be very interesting to sub those unless you're already a fan of the franchise in question.

Personally I'd love you doing either of the first two options since I've encountered so many promising anime over the years that suffered from a partial or complete lack of subs. One of the first that comes to mind is http://myanimelist.net/anime/10346/Ring_ni_Kakero_1__Sekai_Taikai-hen
The first two seasons got subs, this third one only got subs for the first 3 episodes and the fourth season doesn't have subs at all. So 9 episodes are still unsubbed. I would personally worship you if you decided to finish that one.

But in the end what you're subbing should interest you so you don't lose motivation. If you want to have a more detailed talk about some options please send me a PM or something. Maybe we can talk on Skype too. I'd also be more than willing to do some menial work to help you, like proofreading and checking for errors. I can't translate or help with the technical aspects, but I'd be willing to contribute whatever I can if it means getting some unsubbed gems subbed.
I probably regret this post by now.

That said, I think this series still lacks an English sub job: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1711/Ryuusei_Sentai_Musumet
Avatar character is Gabriel from Gabriel DropOut.
