It was revealed in the latest January 2016 issue of Young Animal Magazine that Berserk will be getting a new anime adaptation. The new anime project will adapt Kentarou Miura's Berserk manga. A new key visual was revealed, and an official website was also launched. The author hints that it will feature Guts in his "Black Swordsman" appearance in the upcoming anime. Currently, the anime project does not indicate what format the adaptation will be, and more details will be revealed at the upcoming Winter Comiket event to be held from December 29–31.

Synopsis
Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, seeks sanctuary from the demonic forces that pursue him and his woman, and also vengeance against the man who branded him as an unholy sacrifice. Aided only by his titanic strength, skill, and sword, Guts must struggle against his bleak destiny, all the while fighting with a rage that might strip him of his humanity. Berserk is a dark and brooding story of outrageous swordplay and ominous fate, in the theme of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

The original series started out as a prototype that was drawn by Kentarou Miura in 1988. Afterward, the first manga volume received publication in November 1990 by Hakusensha in its Jets Comics collection. It was later serialized in Young Animal starting in 1992 after the publication of the third volume. The series has been adapted into a TV series that aired from October 7, 1997 to March 31, 1998 for a total of 25 episodes. In addition, the series also received several film adaptations by Studio 4°C.

It's better be sequel and not remake.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

The first arc is called "The Black Swordsman", but the news could also just refer to the main character after the Golden Age Arc. Either way, we get new stuff animated.

Oh god, this is amazing!

Then again, The Berserk manga is a grand piece of work so for now I just pray that it will be a good adaption. My greatest wish is that they do not entirly remove all the sex and nudity thingsi in it.

Berserk is a great manga (one of my faves, in fact), but I am not reall hyped about it since the movies a few years ago...

They need to find a way to give this a huge budget, incorporate the Golden Age arc without reanimating or leaving out too much, convey the unique atmosphere and have it actually sell somewhat to ensure it doesn't stop halfway. It seems like an impossible task, only a few studios can actually manage it.

I certainly hope it won't be the same staff of the three GA movies again. Studios I can see doing alright with this would be either the big hitters like IG, Madhouse, Sunrise or a small studio like MAPPA with tons of external spnsors or a special cooperation invovled that manages to cover the costs.

Also, I think I speak for most Berserk fans when I say: Fuck 3d CGI.

Eh, a few heavy hitter franchises getting adaptions of dubious quality is not enough to save an entire year when Winter 2016 already looks almost as bad as Winter 2013... DGrayman was never good, FMP was maybe above average at its best, Berserk adaptions are very hit or miss and we all know how video game adaptions work in anime in regards to Phoenix Wright. Only Jojo looks like it is set to be consistent with the classic David Pro staff returning.

Then again, ever since the collapse of Lehman and the financial crisis in 2008 anime has had mostly weak years. The quality peak of mid-2000s anime is still beyond the capacity of the current industry.

Seems very pointless from every perspective.

Like how many times are they going to try an adapt Berserk. It won't work, and this is likely going to be terrible, CGI or not.

Let it go already, it's not worth the valiant effort. A lot more manga worthy of that. Vinland Saga in particular needs an anime more, and it would serve a point.

It's copyrighted under Konami, and it's called Gurren Lagann PS, so it's most likely a Pachinko Slot machine. I'm not even joking..

God no. Inoue Got tier art should not be disgraced by becoming an anime.

People really need to appreciate Manga. Not everything needs to become an anime..
