Definitely the best episode visually so far both in the gorgeous backgrounds and the house along with the typical monogatari things. One thing that confuses me though is the timeline because I had always thought owari had taken place after neko white but before the end of second season but hanekawa doesn't have the white streaks in her hair in this...

Well I'm even more confused. Just when I think the problem is solved. I quickly realize its not.

Another great episode. Always loved the fact that this series plays on the words there is two sides to every story. The only thing that bugs me is the fact Ougi can figure it out as if she was there to begin with. But then again Hanekawa also added a little more info to the story. Maybe Araragi really is a fool.

Can't wait for next week.

Mystery in this show just keep me getting interested. Can't wait for next week. If Sodachi hate Araragi for that then she is being unreasonable. She can't expect him to read her mind. I wonder if there are other reasons why she hate Araragi.

Right?

Writer Nisio Isin and director Akiyuki Shinbou are a match made in anime heaven.

Great writing and execution can make even the simplest scenes interesting.

I love how araragi is good at maths because I'm good at maths. I have finally admitted to myself that I'm self inserting myself into a harem protag. Oikura is probably the most attractive grill so far tbh.

Supposedly from what she said if it's true, then she must has a hold all about Araragi, be it his memories or knowledge. And from the way the conversation goes, she only "telling the obvious" to Araragi, seems like Araragi has a habit to deconstruct any incident that he not fond of and really lacking in complex thinking, eh. From this episode, i think Oikura mistake was that she were hoping that Araragi was some kind of mind reader or Sherlock Holmes, typical stereotyping of woman i guess, both are a fools actually.

Great episode and interesting twist. Here I thought Oikura was a selfish little b*tch and it turns out she might have real issues that Araragi in all his amazing thickness didn't pickup on. Or so at least Ougi wants us to believe, huh? I wonder what twist will come next week.

okay so with Ougi constantly claiming to be Meme's niece, where the hell IS Meme? it'd be so easy to confirm whether what Ougi is saying is true or not by asking Meme himself. it just feels like the elephant in the room to me since Araragi has obviously been suspecting something about her for a while now

They don't know, this is prior to Koimonogatari. Hanekawa went traveling to look for Meme but couldn't find him at the end of Koi. Also you might remember that at one point, Gain wasn't able to contact Kagenui and Kaiki got attacked at the end of Koi as well. So something is up.

Looks like the News guy already mentioned the 007 reference, but it looks like no one so far caught that right after the gun barrel sequence it went into a bunch of multicolored dots, which is a reference to the opening credits of Dr. No, the first James Bond film.

Great episode.

EDIT: Also, my respect for Araragi has gone WAYY up with these episodes. I can really relate to him now. I remember how much fun math was for me when I was a kid. I miss those days.

Really curious to see what the whole truth is. Since every time we get some stunning revelation, it just turns out to be another small layer of the big picture.

Don't trust Ougi at all. I have a feeling like Ougi is an apparition created by Araragi. It explains why she knows everything about him and why her phrase is "I don't know anything. It's what you know"...even though she does know. Perhaps he manifested her after Oshino left and he had the strong desire to keep helping with the apparitions. So he created an entity who is portrayed as a relative of Oshino, yet has all of his memories/thought processes, so she can basically bounce his own ideas back at him, like he's talking to himself.

This also means that getting rid of her will be difficult, since she knows how he thinks, and can avoid it.

Second, your "shit talking" has no logic behind it, which is why people are bashing you. It's one thing to say "oh I don't like this character, this arc, this relationship, this plot device, etc." But when you say "oh I don't like this show because it has too much talking...when the entire premise of the show is character monolgues/conversations...you sound like a fucking clown.

The thing is... this anime is so much more than "just talking" or "just characters giving monologues". These last three episodes have been anything but monologues or just talking. They've been discussions between Ougi and Araragi about Araragi's past. Not only that, it's been a matter of flashbacks into his past, revealing bit by bit the mystery of why this girl Oikura hates him so much. At first we think it's just that he's better in math, then we think it's because of that classroom incident, then because she was the one responsible for making him so good at math, then because he did nothing about her domestic abuse situation, and now we're led to believe that there's even more to it than that, that Araragi has connections to her even further back. That's far more than just talking. And the art, the surreal art of this series, in my opinion, is as much an element as the large amount of dialogue. But even then there's more to it. Everybody knows how violent this series can get. And the fact that it doesn't happen all that often means that it's a shock when it does. It's like, damn, did that just happen? If every single episode was as bloody as some of Araragi's fights are, then those fights would lose their meaning. In general, we get a sense that Araragi is comfortable and happy with his life, but then things happen that will not allow him to keep living like that, and he has to get involved. Or Senjougahara has to get involved. But yeah, all this dialogue and all these actions... they all make up a little thing called PLOT, and develop another little thing called CHARACTERS. Two things that are, I don't know... essential to a good story? People who dislike this anime for its dialogue should probably give up on even trying to watch high quality anime and go watch DBZ or Bleach or something.

That's legit the equivalent of saying: "I don't like this anime because it has animation in it!"

Alright, whatever. I used "shit-talking" as shorthand to saying what I don't like about shows, however, I do discuss them and sometimes mention their merits. No one replied to me in the threads for those other shows, except for a fan of one of the shows I was commenting negatively on, who congratulated me for being so impressively dedicated, so there's that.

The conversations and monologues aren't the problem that I have with the show (because I liked other shows with talking and monologues), it's the way the show goes about it because the conversations are too repetitive (IMO) and I just mentioned the conversations because that's a much quicker way to phrase it. Guess I'll just comment on something else then.

When I was just commenting the ratings that I am assigning each episode, someone marked them as spam, so I pretty much have to write my thoughts on every episode that I comment on before giving a rating.

Also, some other guys replying to me called me a retard, told me to just watch shonen shows because Monogatari isn't for idiots, so I fail to see how that is much more mature.
