| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Nice buildup this episode. Even more focus on Tsugumi's life style. I think pacing picked up in the second half with some neat action. Also loved the way they did the launching scenes. Last 5 minutes of the episode was very thrilling imo. Nice OST also combined with the excitement of the fighting. Cliffhanger though...:/ |

| Did the pilot who lost it and dropped out of the mission sound a bit off to anyone else, or is it just me? To me she sounds like a Russian person who's very fluent in Japanese, but still pronounces vowels with a Russian-like quality and overlays a Russian emotive intonation on top of normal Japanese pitch. I'm Russian myself, and that really freaked me out! Only two anime characters I've heard so far sounded that way: Lady Doubt from Kaitou Joker (voiced by an actual Russian) and Leysritt from the Fate franchise (voiced by Miho Miyagawa, who also voiced the pilot in this episode). The latter's manner of speech caught my attention, but it didn't seem too out of place, since her character isn't exactly human and is probably supposed to sound a bit unnatural. In this series though it makes no sense whatsoever. I've actually found some videos of Miyagawa when not in character on niconico, and she doesn't sound like that in real life. Weird... |

| Girls are scary A person's wrath that is. He really became a shadow of his former self. "What do you want to do?" asked Nagate under the romantic stars, with the two being alone. Now that is a good atmosphere :D The Gauna never fails from being an enemy of interest! |

| The entire sequence with Hayakaze was pure mecha porn. Shame that it proved to be so ineffective this time around. Look forward to seeing it deployed in massive scale though. Anyone else catch the picture that Lala was looking at? The entire old gang is on it. |

| I finally realized with that episode that this season has WAY too much filler. We'll probably have action (and tragedy) until the end though. I'm still not clear why Kobayashi cares so much about this particular star system and the Gauna that is there. |
| Nice episode, with the 1st half calm and the 2nd getting intense. Love the bold move by Izana, too bad it doesn't continue. Hope the Izana ship doesn't sink :( |

| The sequel has been pretty messy compared to the first season, but thank god that whole Izana x Nagate vacation thing was wrapped up relatively quickly. |

| As much as I like Sidonia, I must say that the SOL/Romcom moments are quite sluggish and awkward. It's not even because I don't like the girls or anything, but at times, they're a bit too nosy on Nagate's personal life, which can be annoying to some viewers. Speaking of the guy, I like how he ran towards Izana just to trip over the bag and take some hits. Well deserved for a dense MC. Anyways, the second half's actions almost overshadowed the inept romcom moments of the first half. The Hayakaze launching sequence and the follow up formation were amazing! Quite the dire situation they've got at hand. Next episode should be epic! Above average episode. Tsuruuchi getting wrecked by Tsumugi was pretty hilarious to watch! Poor guy.. |

| Does anyone else feel like everything happened in just 10 minutes instead of 24? I swear every time the "To Be Continued" sign comes up, I'm left in disbelief that so much time had already elapsed... Questions from this episode: 1. Why did that girl go off on Tanikaze (I'm also assuming she's the one who ran off and got arrested). He's suppose to be the hero of the Gardes squads, no? Why was she so mad at their esteemed leader and "Sidonia's Hero"? 2. Also, why the Izana blush when they got home? What was it that Tanikaze said/did to her at the village? Considering how young Tsumugi is suppose to be, I'm pretty surprised that she was able to catch onto Tsuruuchi's sleazy innuendos. Was expecting Samari to straighten him out, but this solution was just as good. Glad that we're finally at Lem. Cannot wait till the battle begins! |

Basically there is too much centering on Tanikaze's relationships/harem and too little on everything else; it seemed like we took a few episode break from the main plot with the Gauna - which is a bad thing for a series of this length. Also, I noticed that several of the supporting characters have done next to nothing this season (such as Hiyama), which makes me wonder why they are in it at all. |

It's unnecessary padding that doesn't add much to the main plot and it applies to the manga as well and it's not exclusive to animated adaptations. |

| I really thought we would have another "Sidonia no Nichijou" episode but thankfully it was just only the 1st part. LOLed at Tsuruuchi! Can't withstand the speed of Tsumugi while he holds-on to her formation! Did Nagate already tell to Izana his true feelings for her? It was suddenly cut and I think Tsumugi already knew because she successfully eavesdropped those two love birds. Tsumugi curious about the food "Natto" Izana was chosen as the replacement recon to the 9th planet because the original recon pilot was arrested. Very convenient but It's also a good choice because Izana has a very special cyborg-like eye (because that eye had more hub assisting visuals) to help with the recon. Armored Placenta? Even the Hayakaze armed with an artificial Kabi tip didn't even budge! Another fodder recon girl character dead. Trouble again for Izana, and Nagate & Tsumugi are friggin' worried! 5/5. |

| Why do I have a feeling that Tanikaze banged Izana at that resort place they were at lol The SoL moments might not be appreciated much but I enjoyed them tbh....I didn't really like Izana coming into to S2 and these moments managed to change my entire perspective of her so kudos to the anime Shit is finally getting real and we just might have a battle on our hands so hopefully the next episode delivers this....I hope that Izana doesn't die though :( |

| I hate them for not showing what happened between them during that night. But was that filler in the end? Can we assume nothing had happened. Or should we presume they did it? (It was no filler after all, they just changed sequence of some chapters to incorparate Tsumugi's flashback where it should be) Also, I hate cliffhangers! And I kinda enjoyed this chapter even that. I don't care they are putting this SoL stuff in as long as it for purpose of consequent feels. But now it seems Izana has raised several death-flags. |
| Filler here, filler there... Stop crying ffs. No one gives a shit about your filler definition. If Sidonia was pure action, heavy on mecha side anime, I probably wouldn't consider it the best anime I've ever watched since Steins;Gate. All those funny moments, char developments, romantic & stupid moments, daily life struggles along with some really nice mecha is what makes Sidonia this awesome. Not just the "main pilot". Go watch Naruto or some other shounen if you are so fixated with your "main pilot" bullcrap. This episode,just like others, was awesome too. If Hoshijiro was around, I probably wouldn't care about Izana this much, but the episode with her grandma made me love her too so I hope nothing happens to her. Idgaf about Midorikawa. Although she could have get rid of Izana by ordering them to stay inside the Hayakaze but she didn't so kudos for that. Can't wait to see what happens this week. Saturdays are like the second fridays for me since Sidonia. |

| Episode well managed in the narrative, although the situations during the story quite obvious, the result is satisfactory. Final that was obvious from the beginning, but it was still surprising to find the new strategy implemented by Gauna. The authors have managed to maintain a high level of attention throughout the episode, thanks to some tricks succeeded in full; I'm curious to know what they said Tanikaze and Isana, and how to resolve the issue of saving Isana. I'm really very tense, I suffered the next episode. |
