THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, Hide sees Kaneki's Kakugan in full view now. Good breather episode after all the intense events that happened throughout the season. One thing interesting about the episode is how it showed Kaneki holding the white cloth like in the promo image. HOLY SHIT, they also played the original OP song from season 1 at the end. Unravel. YES. Anyways, actually enjoyed this season more than I had expected. Might get the OST in the future. ![]() Modified by Stark700, Mar 26, 2015 8:27 AM |
Nice that they played unravel. So he's holding Hide huh ;( ![]() |
No additional season confirmed but... Tokyo Ghoul Jack OVA confirmed! ![]() |
So incoming Jack OVA huh. Nice. This was... very interesting. I'll need to wait for subs because until then I don't even know what to say aside from 1. YES, UNRAVEL!!! and 2. I half-expected that one guy they freed from Cochlea to show up this episode, oh well. ![]() |

so... even so you who still have not read the manga, READ THE MANGA! why you ask? - backstory to the twins (and few other stuff i wont spoil for now) - backstory to yomo and uta - more pineapple-kun (?) - more arima vs kaneki-kun - more "YOU SHALL NOT PASS V14" - more explanation for aogiri's interaction with CCG - more "pierrot" sigh, now i am really kinda disappointed by it >3> EDIT: well, pretty much THIS: ![]() Modified by Tyrel, Feb 7, 2016 9:20 PM current LN reading: Death March kara hajimaru isekai kyousoukyoku translated here for those who are interested in other forums about animes, check randomc.net, reddit.com/r/anime and forum.animesuki.com |
Gamer6 said: I won't call them trolls per se.Studio Perriot is a troll. They did the same thing in this episode similar to episode 12 of TG. They basically are forcing people to go read the manga and increase the manga sales. People are forgetting that this is how the manga ended for part 1. Remember? Did you forget the pain of beign told that TG was ending on chapter 143 with only a weeks notice? ![]() |
Okay that was, uh... Not very good. Let's just keep it at that. ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |
So Noro actually F***ed Hide up And that person in the poster was Hide :O?! This ep's animation was amazing. Loved the flame animation as well as the snow when Arima was looking at the sky (esp when they showed him after Marude said "How should we deal with eyepatch?") Ayato saving Touka was a nice touch :P Amon just disappearing with no trace. I wonder what Akira thinks? The scene Ken was walking through the CCG with Hide in his arms seeing all the dead bodies of both human and ghoul while Unravel playing was pretty damn beautiful. Dem feelz :*( The TROLL was strong as hell at the end! Not only do they not show KenvsArima, they don't even show Ken lying on the ground "dead" and just show an Ixia stabbed into white snow (Symbolism type of censoring?) and to end it all, Cafe :re just opened LMAO XD ![]() |
Found the episode to have a warm feel to it. Memories, Hide, Touka, Arima, CCG, feels. Still liked the episode very much. And they've teased :re but they prolly change that a bit too. Overall, because I'm TG bias I'm giving this a 10 but honestly it's a 7 due to the MC rarely popping up in the beginning, lack animation and plot holes. When you compare this to the manga it can sink lower than a 7 on my scale but I won't do that. Manga was a masterpiece IMO, so fucking epic, sad, fulfilling and mysterious at the same time. They've left out some of the most epic scenes in manga/anime in general, guess that they didn't have enough budget or whatever. Well that settles that, for manga readers, don't cry we still have :re and the epicness that is going to come with Pineapple-kun and the rest. ![]() |
BakaDood said: Well, that was completely different from the manga. First of all, I'm pretty sure Hide didn't die in the manga In the anime i think she just open the shop recently, not that much time passed yet. ![]() |
I don't know about all of you, but as a mangareader, I liked the ending. The only thing that bothered me was Kaneki vs Arima was done offscreen. Otherwise this anime has done really well.(This ending was way better than Kiseijuu's) This ep gets 4/5 The Anime: 9/10 It's my opinioon ![]() |
I am not even sure how to react.... Animation, sound and presentation itself were good, but still..... ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |

Quite different from the manga, especially the massive troll ending here. Didn't even show whether or not Kaneki died. All we hear is the suitcase opening. Either way, this was better than S1, but yeah... Disappointing ending. Also, dat ":RE" sign at the end is SO TROLL. ![]() |

... I was slow enough to not realize that the blood dripping was Hide until it became obvious. He being that person, though :/ I guess I really liked this episode, with all the flashbacks really showed all the important people/stuff that was lost in this battle for both sides. Kaneki holding Hide like that, it felt a bit long, though it felt a bit long for me. The ending... the temptation to read the manga... ![]() |
EnigmaticTD said: shouldn't you read from the first chapter?Time to read the manga from where season 1 ended... again. ![]() |
That ending scene was powerful TwT RIP Hide We needed this episode....Seeing all the effects of the carnage of the previous episodes....Akira, Suzuya, Touka, Kaneki....All of that despair really hits you hard The Hide and Kaneki scene was perfection imo....I can't stress how great those moments were.....Dat Arima and Kankei showdown at the end....I don't even know what to say lol Imma give this an 8/10 instead of 7 based off of moments like the ones in this episode ![]() Modified by Tokoya, Mar 26, 2015 9:47 AM |

Now that I think about it, when the original manga ended, I was like what just happened and after a while I got depressed. But the presentation of the anime really got me sad from mid-way of the episode.Very well directed. I still think the brutal death of Kaneki should have been shown. ![]() |
i saw the :re.... lol, if that wasnt a vague ending idk what is, i guess ill have to read the manga at some point now... ![]() |
