The 16th manga volume of Akira Hiramoto's Prison School (Kangoku Gakuen), to be released on March 6, reveals that the previously announced anime adaptation will premiere in Summer 2015 as a TV series.
Prison School was one of two winners of the Kodansha Manga Award for General Manga in 2013. It has been serialized in Young Magazine since 2011.
Good news. Now I hope we get more info on cast and staff soon. Hope Madhouse or something adapts this. And with the amount of chapters, a 2 cour is fairly possible.
it definitely at least needs 2 cour worth of episodes to end it at a good point. which needs to cover up 82 chapters as that when the first part of the story ends.
for god's sake i hope the censorship won't be so bad as other series...pls dont ruin this adaptation.
I wouldn't choose Madhouse for this since they have a terrible reputation like tampering the source material. They're bad in BD/DVD sales in general which decreases the chances of sequels.
good to know its soon enough ....This could become a masterpiece or shit,no middle...Need someone good enough to adapt ridiculousness of the manga,SHAFT would be amazing #believe
So much hype. Funniest series I have ever read never mind the glorious ecchiness. Hope it airs on AT-X uncensored, with series like this and DxD you cannot enjoy them to the fullest with censoring.
It has to be 2 cour with the end perfectly fit for when
the boys leave the prison and the USC get's put in by the SC.
I still have low expectations for it..idk but such manga series are kind of difficult to adapt into anime and still make them seem as hilarious.
It definitely needs a two cour, not more since the manga is proceeding really slowly. I am really curious about the VAs.
I honestly can't see this ending up being half as good as the manga, especially because I can't see the art being traduced well in anime form and then there's the whole censoring deal. Still, some good voice acting and a good studio adapting this might prove me wrong.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?
Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

I have these exact thoughts. Well, let's hope for the best.
