Yup, coloured Nihei is often terrible because his artwork alone is way too interesting to have all the details hidden by it. However I like the monochromatic colours used sometimes in Blame!, in which the characters are just outlined in either blue or red, or with a combination of those two colors. The covers are pretty neat, too. In Blame! gakuen it was too much though and I didn't like it.

The plot in Blame! is great, it's like the author threw everything he thought was cool into it, from cyborgs and weapons of mass destruction to lovecraftian nightmares, but it's solid from start to finish lol

BWAHAHAH yeah I feel you, the ads on my country are always dumb stuff and they rarely come in the middle of the comic, but whenever I read scans they come with all the american adds and it's a bit weird. It's fun seeing the adds on really old comics, though.

Oh, I can't say for the Vertical edition. They seem a little bigger than the one that came out in my country. Mine is like 2,5kg (5,5lbs). I think they have the weight on amazon.

I'd say it's worth it. I've read Blame! online for the first time, but it's one of those manga that having it on paper is a totally distinct experience. It's almost like an art book of a completely alien world.

Yeah, I'd say leave it for last. Read a bit of it online if you're curious, but there's not much to see. APOSIMZ is a weird amalgam of all his other works, but it's mostly Blame! on ice.

...whoa, to be honest I had no idea that Nihei had drawn a Wolverine comic. I've just read it, it was a nice throw back to his old style, since I am not a big fan of his cleaner late work, and the colours weren't bad. I couldn't care much for the plot and it had his infamous walls of text, but well, at least he didn't get too much into it. His plots tend to get messy, which is why I like Blame! the most.

I think his latest Ningyou no Kuni (or APOSIMZ) still takes the cake for my least favorite work of his since Snikt! wasn't really supposed to be one of his major works and at least the action scenes aren't all stiff. I still need to finish Knights of Sidonia though.

Almost good enough to fill the Gravity Falls-shaped hole in my heart.

...Almost.

I've been studying Communism, and it makes a lot of sense. There's been a lot of crazy dictators, and that makes people think negatively about Communism, but Communism can exist without the crazy revolutions and purges.

I believe in what I like to call "Natural Communism," because many first world countries(like Canada) are already a social democracy, and are slowly moving toward Socialism. As automation is slowly becoming a reality, Communism may become a reality within our lifetime.

Can I ask your favorite albums?
Maybe we can get along.

I see.

Well it's alright.
Nice favorites btw.

Okay, what of it?

I don't really care what you call 'em man. Music is music, don't give a fuck about genre so much. It's just a way for me to easily classify it.
I saw them classified as avant-garde somewhere, so I say that to my friend to convince him to listen to them.

Well I'm an atheist, so the themes of Christianity didn't speak to me on another level, but I do enjoy it to some degree in a fictional, story-sense way. Haibane Renmei is more than just a symbolism for religion though.
