I grew up watching naruto and now that the manga is completed, i have moved on but I always feel something missing a part of my lifestyle. I heard of one piece before but i just ignored it because of the fact that I am a close minded person when I was young....but now that i've grown up and naruto is done, i was curious about this series.....What am i going to expect on this show? Is it gonna be like strategic fights like naruto? Should i watch anime or manga? Should i be worried in the future if i skipped some few arcs because the series is so damn long? If you could briefly explain(persuade) it to me if is it worth it to watch one piece from the start or not, that would be much appreciated.....right now im following no animes, but in manga im following shingeki no kyojin, magi, and fairy tail

Not really.

It's not good. Very mediocre, and eventually ends up less than average after a time skip.

You should definitely give it a shot. If you watch a few episodes and don't like it, drop it...no harm, no foul. Just because you start it, it doesn't mean that you're locked into watching all 600+ episodes.

Give it a go and see if you like it or not.

Yes it's worth it, it's the best anime in the world, people start it all the time. No, do not skip any arcs or do you even need to skip filler. Some filler arcs have some canon info or they mix the filler and the canon well at the edges so you don't notice it. And no the fights are not strategic like Naruto. They don't have the same skills or tools. And when you watch it, make sure to watch at least to episode 45 until you decide whether to drop it.

Let me present the facts and I'll leave the answer to you

1) It's overall mediocre with a lot of fluff
2) World Building is bad
3) No character development or depth
4) No originality whatsoever
5) Many, MANY fights, more than any other anime.
6) Terrible fanbase

7) Good music

No, the pacing is horrible even in the manga which doesn't have filler/padding.

So you have to watch 45 episodes whatever to see if you like it. I can watch like 2 series that have better acclaim than one piece that will be far superior in that time.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

I laughed.

I haven't watched much One piece apart from a few random fights and scenes. It's worth it if you want to watch it.

I'm watching the original Dragon Ball..... from 1986... if you think you will enjoy it, watch it. There shouldn't be an episode number or span of time that prevents you.

Watch until the time skip. After that the show is just filled with big breasted dolls, horrible pacing, disgusting art and lacking comedy.

One Piece is a 10/10 for the first hundred episodes, but a 3/10 after the time skip.

From my experience, it's worth watching from the beginning up to the end of the Ennies Lobby arc. After that, it got way too weird for my tastes. The show pretty much peaks at Marineford arc. The anime was also produced by Toei Animation, so the animation looks average. If you don't mind constant crying, lack of deaths, ugly supporting characters, crossdressers/transvestites and stereotypical gay characters, then go for it. The fights aren't that good either. Naruto vs Sasuke and Sakura & Chiyo vs Sasori were (at least to me) more exciting to watch than any fight in One Piece.

I'd say yes,it is worth a try.

But after Ennies Lobby arc it became worse and currently it is quite lackluster.
My favourite arc was probably Alabasta,Skypiea or Water 7.

Well, the One Piece's crossdressers are meant as more of a comic relief.

And I am not sure if I would call Kalluto a crossdresser. Girlish looking, yes, quite a lot. But not a crossdresser.

He is male, and dress in a femmine kimono. How is that not crossdressing?

no it's a complete waste of time. you could watch the clannad series 11 times and fairy tail 3 times in the time it takes to watch one piece and they're much more worthwhile

Yeah! It's one of my favorite anime :D
While others seem to dislike the more recent arcs, I think they're fine as they are :)
More mysteries are being revealed, and new characters with awesome powers are introduced..

I'd say go for the manga. I don't read the manga, but I hear a lot of the original decent art is lost in the animation.

That's being shallow. Everyone knows that crossdressers in real life aren't pretty either.

I wouldn't agree with the "best anime" part, but Turtle says it best.

It's kind of clear that One Piece is regarded as the best of the best of shounen, so if that's not enough to convince you, a thread on a website prone to trolling, shitposting and circle jerking won't help you to decide.

Check the relevant places: Top anime lists (stats too), reviews, favourites, compatibility, etc.

Both on the anime and manga lists, it's not ranked the highest shounen, so ''best of the best'' doesn't make sense.

There goes your ad poplumn to the gutter.

Let me start by saying I was in the same shoes as you a year or two ago. I really thought Naruto would always be my favorite anime/manga.

Then I watched One Piece. Head and shoulders better than Naruto.

The only thing Naruto has over One Piece is that Naruto is more interesting at the beginning.

Keep watching One Piece until the end of the Arlong Park arc (around episode 30). If you still don't like the series, drop it.

If you're worried about time, don't watch the fillers. Completely unecessary. Personally, I choose to skip the Davy back arc (the only arc I don't like in OP) and that's canan.

But yeah, there are parts that initially fall flat but everything means so much more as you progress. Even many of the seemingly ridiculous things have a bigger meaning down the road.

Take an average of the 2 my genius friend and you'll see it's top with Death Note while having much less viewers ;) Also less than the individual anime/manga above it.

Question: Do you like filler? If yes, watch the hell outta it. If no, dont bother.

One Piece honestly couldve finished at the 300 episode mark but Oda, the author, just takes too long to do anything so here we are at episode 680 or something and barely possibly halfway through the story.

Why not? I started it almost a year ago, still at episode 67, will catch up to it one day. Maybe in 5 years.
