Adblock and Advertisements on MAL

Anyone want to take bets on how much longer until there is some sort of paid version of MAL with no ads, special features, maybe some free/reduced streaming rate for Crunchyroll, and other shit?

I'll say one year at the absolute latest. It's obviously coming, whether they are having financial troubles or not. The buyout of the site was the worst thing to ever happen to it. It's all been going downhill since then.

I don't think there is a way to bypass them.

It seems you can remove them all from the front page, the forums, all except 2 banners on anime/manga pages and profile page can't be removed or I don't know how to do it, whatever it is it's extremely obnoxious.

Nah, I blocked those a long time ago. I thought they were talking about something new.

So did I but for some reason they came back and it seems I can't remove the ones on the picture that I posted and 2 on profile pages while all others are still removable. Seems some users got hit by the "bypass" some didn't, at least I think.

I've actually disabled AdBlocker for MAL and the blue banners still randomly show up for me now and then...

I don't think I did, it's not really rocket science to just edit the filters and paste what you wrote in the box and save it. Unless I am doing that wrong I don't see anything else.

Let me give you money on a monthly or yearly basis. I'd definitely pay $20-40/year to help support you guys and turn off adverts. I don't mind supporting sites I use, but advertisements are a big no for me. They're ugly and intrusive. I will continue to use adblock (adding filters to remove the ugly blue boxes), but I'll be one of your first donators when you implement a subscription system.

Are you using Firefox or Chrome?
Because the site looks normal to me on my laptop Firefox with the filters. The white spaces shrunk down to normal for me.

I disabled adblock for MAL and the ads where well placed and not annoying but my computer is old and if I had too many windows open it would slow down a lot and adobe flash would crash, without the ads it doesn't happen, so I enabled adblock again, sorry guys, I'll try again another time.

PS. If you make it possible to only have text ads or at least not auto-playing videos I'll disable adblock right away.

MAL has been freezing a lot but it runs smoothly when I re-enabled my adblocker. I don't find the placement obstrusive though, so if whatever slowing down the site is fixed, I don't mind disabled adblock in the future

Can you please do something about the stuff saying that my adblock is enabled when it's turned off -_- ? It's annoying as hell, I have adblock disabled for MAL but I use firefox tracking protection and instead of ads sometimes I see the info about me having my adblock enabled, please remove those. I say it once mo MAL is whitelisted on my adblock, adblock is turned OFF for this website. I use firefox built in tracking protection which removes all tracking.

Hello, I have been enabling ads for over a month now and I thought it was a pretty good experience until recently I noticed that the tabs where MAL was opened kept being refreshed constantly. Enabling Adblock fixed this issue that I found irritating, so that's what I'm doing now until this issue regarding ads is fixed.

Iv never used ad block thoughout my time on MAL. I had no problem with ads (well besides the odd porn one) but other then that it's been fine.. Until recently.
I keep getting pop up ads EVERY single time I go to a new page on MAL. Basically making the site unusable. I use iPad, so I'm not sure if there is a way to disable pop ups..

I had my adblocker off for maybe a minute, but now it is staying on. I got a fullscreen ad between pages, which is annoying enough, but when I get windows defender slapping down malware at the same time, when I'm not doing anything else, annoying goes straight to unacceptable, and the adblock goes back on.

Yep I spoke too soon, Olivia656 is alive and well. It seems to be switching on and off just randomly.

Edit: Or more like sometimes its just a delayed redirect, it either takes 1 second or like a minute or something.
