| Holy moly, Heartcatch Precure! is gorgeous. For the first third or so of the episode (after which I adjusted) I had to continually rip my eyes off the upper screen to make sure I was reading the subtitles properly. That animation budget is good stuff too. That was really really fast-paced, even for an opening episode. The main duo's personalities just explode through the whole episode. Story-wise we already have a proper setup with the fall of Cure Moonlight to Cure Dark(?) and Moonlight's last-ditch effort to stop the Desert Apostles. As for our main Cures, the whole "spray-on transformation" was both amusing and creative... not much else to say until I see the results of Cure Blossom's first fight in the next episode. All-around it was a fast but solid way to start the series. This looks like it will be fun to watch, if nothing else. |

I decided to forego small encodes since it's definitely the one I want to start with. All of the small encoders seem to be going with Doremi's subs rather than Commie's in the various Precure releases too, which is meh. Heartcatch's presence in your favorites actually played a small part in my decision to start with it first, btw. |

| Another week of losing interest in Rakugo... I'm just not as invested in S2 as I was with S1 and that whole long flashback. Only 3 eps left anyways so might as well finish it but looking at the forum discussions it looks like I'm alone on this. |

What the heck happened to you, Nintendo? Okashi said: MGR:R did ran well, its main problem which I'm assuming Nier is gonna have too as well is the lack of graphical options in the settings, cuz MGR:R barely had anything, you had like 3 graphical options and AA and that was it. You couldn't tweak the game much, which I assume is probably gonna be the same with Nier because of the dumb minimum requirement of a 770. The recommended GPU for MGR is a 650. That's overkill af for a game that doesn't look much better than a PS2 remaster. For example, the recommended GPU for Battlefield 3 is a 560 which is ~50% better in terms of raw processing power, but BF3 looks a helluva lot better than MGR. BF3 at ultra looks better than a lot of PS4 launch titles. |

| Heartcatch Precure!'s second episode was, ironically enough, much slower overall despite mostly focusing on the battle from the previous episode. It definitely gave some needed breathing room and helped showcase the powers of a Precure. I also like that the Desert Apostle causing trouble actually intervened in the fight some herself rather than just lazily watching her monster get trashed. It was pretty rare for something like that to happen in Sailor Moon. Story-wise, it was a surprise to find out that Tsubomi's grandma was a Precure, and the save mid-episode by that male character was interesting too. Also, am I the only one who thinks it's a liiiittle bit odd for Chryse to poop out heart seeds? No? Okay then. |
