| Wow...that was a fantastic ending. I'm really glad that it was a happy ending (except for maybe Ahiru because she's a duck)! Aww Neko-sensei finally got married and had kids! x) This anime, overall, was fantastic. It was such a heartwarming tale with a deep story, great storytelling, and a really good soundtrack (when I was watching it in front of my brother, who's kind of a classical music buff, he would always be like: hey I know that song!). Even though most of the music in my anime collection is really JPop-y, it was definitely refreshing to watch an anime with classical music. I loved the storytelling and the characters as well. I think I might give this a 10...it was really a beautiful anime. Yay for awesome mahou shoujos! xD |

| Very simple ending, it was more or less what I was expecting. Those last few episodes were really good, they balanced out the weaker ones at the start of the second half. 7/10 overall. |

| Well. I had my doubts, initially... But this ending was really really great! They literally earned their happy ending. Well, not so happy for everyone. I mean sure, Duck was happy for Rue and Mytho... but she had to remain in her duck form. But maybe, just maybe, Fakir can write a better future for Duck and himself. Best of luck, you two! |

| the forums for this series confused me because the episodes were all off. this is supposedly 38 episodes but I only watched 26. anyways... wow I don't know where to start, this anime surprised me, in a good way. not once has this story felt like the usual cliche. it seemed like it was, but at the same time it wasn't. the thing that surprised me the most is that Ahiru didn't end up with Mytho. I'm so glad though because Rue was by Mytho's side her entire life so she definitely deserved that happy ending. same goes Fakir, I thought he would end up all alone but he has Ahiru (even if she's a duck). it's kind of sad that Ahiru stayed as a duck but I think she'll be happy either way. I enjoyed every episode, which is shocking because it was very repetitive in the beginning but it was different. I don't know how to explain it, I usually hate repetitive-ness but I felt like it was necessary. even the art really fit into the story, despite not being that good. I can't imagine the story being in any other art style, it was perfect. there was some really dark sad moments in this anime which I did not expect. (ex: Fakir stabbing his own hand to stop writing and the last few episodes were overall sad) I did cry several times, especially on the last 2 episodes. 10/10 for me, I really enjoyed this. it was incredibly refreshing from what I usually watch. |

| This is better than what I was expecting. I think this is one of the few anime where the protagonist doesn't end up with the "prince," which is a nice change for me. Overall, I enjoyed the series and the ending was good! |
| This was a great story, zura! The first half was a kind of slow and cliche, however, now that I've completed the story, I believe that the fairy-tale like first half was absolutely necessary. This is what allowed the second half to change it all and eventually end the story in a way I would never have expected. The "evil" princess married the prince, the knight became a storyteller, and the main character ended up returning to her original form. The revelation that they were all just part of a story was exciting, and the last six (21-26) episodes made for a strong finish to the series. Most interesting characters: Rue, Fakir Funniest characters: Lilie, Neko-sensei The classical music and dancing was lovely throughout. I thought that Ahiru's (Japanese) voice actor suited her character perfectly. |

| Personally i didn't really like the second half that much. The last two episodes were great but there were several episodes before them that honestly just bored me and there were even one or two during the second half that were kinda crap. Lot of the content of the second half could have been cut and nothing of value wouldn't have been lost. |
| I never expected to actually see this anime! Simply judging by the cover picture I dismissed it as ''ah probably another cheesy show without a plot'' , but ooh how wrong I was. Now I'm grateful to the person who recommended it to me. Overall there were few repetitive episodes, and I was also hoping for Ahiru to end up with Fakir, as many others but I guess that ending has it's own charm so 8/10 from me :) |

| Overall an amazing experience watching this anime. I never knew ballet could be soo beautiful and breathtaking. They also made it really cool with action. Its of course a 10/10 for me. I didn't really find any of the episodes repetitive. I thought they were all interesting and beautiful in its own way. |
| I adored this anime. Mysterious story line + dark fairy tale atmosphere kept me hooked through the episodes. Admittedly, there were a few episodes near the middle which felt pointless, but it didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. Satisfied with the ending. Its truly a happy one :) |

| Rewatched this today, and i can't express how much beautiful this series was. Fitting ending, but i can't call that happy for Ahiru well at least she can be with Fakir. I'd love to see epilogue about them being together :( Fakir x Ahiru forever! didn't care much about Mytho x Rue since Fakir is so much better with Ahiru |
| First arc (episodes 1-13) was phenomenal (8.5-9/10 worthy), second arc was heavily dragged down by the fillerish heart of the week episodes (episode 14-21). 7/10,the series would've been better off if it has ended on episode 13 or if the fillerish episode had been removed imo. |
| This ending was great! Even though Ahiru turned back into a duck, I love how her and Fakir are still together. Even Neko-sensei got married and has kids! Lovely ending to a fairytale! 9/10 ♥ |
| What an ending! Enough resolution to keep the viewers satisfied, and open enough for us to speculate the hell out of it. Rue and Mytho got the fairy tale ending they so richly deserved, even though I was more concerned with the two 'supporting' characters, as in Fakir and Ahiru. The resolution between Fakir and Ahiru is one filled with hope. I see some are unhappy with the fact that Ahiru wasn't a human at the end, but it doesn't matter, just like Fakir not being a knight at the end. Ahiru, the little duck, fated to be forever be part of a tragedy, fated to vanish away if she confesses her love to Mytho, defied what the story demanded and achieved glory. That she is a duck doesn't matter, since now she is free to be whatever she wants to be, in this new story of hope that Fakir is currently busy with. Wonderful storytelling. Overall, Princess Tutu was an absolute gem. Flawed at parts, particularly the middle segment as in the initial episodes of the second half, in which the episodes felt very much vacuous and the show could have done mostly without. Some characters actions at certain times felt a bit too coincidental, and Drosselmayer was more of an annoyance than anything. As for the positives, plenty to mention here. And yes, a mention to the smart use of classical music. Definitely a show that needs a re-watch. |

| +1 for that intense swan lake music +1 for the lovely ending and best ship -1 for why didn't Rue used her power to assist Mytho once after reallizing she isn't a blood related daughter of the crow? Or why can't the crow controls Rue who also has his blood but able to do it on the villagers? -1 for why didn't Zura just tell Fakir the Drosselmeyer's device whereabouts during the 22th-24th episode? My final verdict would be 6.5/10, I guess, I just can't give negative score to good shippings. |

| This is it!!! A well done mahou shoujo with good characterization; plot twists which break free from the usual conventions that give positive light to the general picture without feeling repetitive and on top of it all a satisfying catharsis. |

| Wow I loved this so much more than I thought I would. 10/10 The Rue x Mytho pairing didn't bother me as I couldn't picture an actual relationship with Duck and him or ever thought that was even gonna happen. Even if everything she did was for the prince Duck and Fakir actually had built a real bond together. I definitly felt sad that Ducks existence was erased but at least she can live her days out peacefully. And it is a open ending as Fakir does have that power so who knows maybe she can become a human again |
| This was amazing! Why didn't I watch this sooner? The first half was easily 10/10 for me but the second half went a lot slower until the last few episodes were it got back to being really good again. I love Ahiru, she's definitely one of my all time favorite characters now. She's just so adorable and fighting the good fight, she's great. I truly loved this anime so much it's hard to put it all into words. 8/10 |

| Looooved it Quack Quack Quack. This show is the perfect example why Anime can be so great, from its great voice acting, beautiful Art, good animation, Amazing use of Classical pieces, Perfect characterization, Excellent Story telling. It was a masterpiece and i was surprised by how it progressed from such Fine opening. If there is any show that should be considered "Deconstruction" then its Princess Tutu for sure. Loved it a lot! So glad i gave this one a chance, I truly underestimated this anime. Definitely one of the best shows ever. 9.6/10 (10) |

| I love how Fakir started from a detestable character to a true hero endearing. The characterization of this character, among others, is really great. He is the real prince of the tale. |
| So we got a happy ending after all! I am not even mad. I usually don't like overly happy endings, but this didn't feel forced at all, and there was more than enough suffering already. Rue and Mytho are together, and so are Fakir and Ahiru. Even Neko-sensei got his happy ending! All of these characters grew on me, and I could not have hoped for a more beautiful ending. Princess Tutu is truly a great anime! I am so glad I watched it. 9/10 |
| I just finished the ending. At least I think I did?? I watched up to episode 26 and that seem to be the end of the series. Did MAL goofed?? I actually enjoyed the ending. Different in a good way. Not-as cliched. |
| Also, if you're still watching the series disregard this forum until you've finished the series!! I'm glad that Ahiru and Fakir are somewhat together in the end. Yeah it's more of a companionate love/friendship, but it really works. If the story had been different like Ahiru being human in the end, everything would kind of change very much for the rest of the outcome. Idk if the changes would be better or worse. Plus you can't escape the fate of who you truly are or who you're meant to be. (At least in this story's case) And I really don't mind Rue x Myuuto ending up together. It kind of makes sense in a way. It was a fantastic ending to this series. |

| Amazing writing,character and story development! At the end i was able to understand rues character and all the pain she had gone through (i still dont like her tho shes was still a pain in the ass )and i was able to resonate with all the others too apart from the prince (+rue) since I sincerely DISLIKED all of his scenes and entire being. But just what?? The ending was overall amazing since i thought it would be a tragic one but the fact that the prince went with rue and that ahiru was left as a duck just irritates me so much since i was really rooting for fakir x ahiru from ep 13 (if not id rather ahiru be with her friends and have no lover than the prince) and it couldve happen,it could’ve had a TRULY happy ending like all the other characters had but ofc the mc who tried her best in everything has to be treated like garbage,did u know ducks life span is between 5-7 years? I wish i didnt. Sound track,story,animation,characters,everything a good 9/10,but that ending for ahiru?a good 3/10 tf especially because no one even remembers her im annoyed i slightly wish i didnt watch this |

| Ahiru's dance in her duck form was both funny and emotional at the same time. Her and Fakir sure did their best for Myuuto, in fact I would call them the real MVPs of the finale. Too bad the story at the end didn't revolve around them, but to Rue and Myuuto, who both had a splendid happy ending for each other. Myuuto and Fakir took the roles of supporting characters which I didn't like BTW, because I wanted the duck and the author to have the main stage and show us their romance! At the end they only kept each company with no real romance for each other, which was a big disappointment. I see the world has gone back to normal and neko-sensei has finally got his family. Too bad Drosselmeyer never got a little bit of punishment and just got away with everything! But Overall I really enjoyed it. The story line was like a ballet theatrical play, it was super amazingly choreographed and dramatic. But most of all it was rich in plot and romantic. I enjoyed the messages of the heart and hope that the series often dwelled upon. The animation and visuals were alright though along with the characters. The pacing and development were nicely done. Overall it was a lovely series that everyone should check out before they die! 8/10 |

| It's been quite some time since I've finished this anime. I still think some of the latter episodes, also the ending, are absolutely amazing. The problem is until it gets to the point... the anime is rather tedious to watch (sadly). But at the same time, this is the kind of anime where I hoped I could see more of the main characters. So much more. Because they are both quite precious. |

| A satisfying conclusion, everything was neatly wrapped up. I do think Fakir and Ahiru ended up together. The two last things we see in the episode are Fakir writing and the duck swimming nearby, then a farewell card with a picture of human Ahiru carrying a wreath with a bridal veil attached. That suggests Fakir can write an ending with Ahiru most likely as his bride. What was good was done really well. The use of music was excellent, the drama in the last third was also great. And while the deconstruction of ballet and fairy tale tropes could have been better, it was still good for this type of story, and not too difficult so that children would be too baffled. However, at times the story wasn't progressing properly, in the first episodes of both halves mainly. Also, there were too many times these "character of the week" episodes in which the character introduced only serves a single purpose and is then thrown away. As often happens with episodic series, the problem with these characters is that it's too easy to see them as merely functions to serve the plot rather than real characters. There were also some weak attempts at humor which I found mostly boring. The plot wasn't that complicated, but since this was so much based on ballet stories, I wouldn't expect it to be. Swan Lake was an obvious influence but Coppelia was there as well, especially in the second part. Drosselmeyer is a character in The Nutcracker, and there was some music from the ballet, but I don't know if there were any plot connections (I've seen The Nutcracker several times but the plot is so unimportant there that I forget) And of course with a dash of Ugly Duckling. It's like this was in its own genre. There was some nice dancing, but I didn't really care about that. It's a different thing to see a real human being dancing ballet than animated moves, so the impact isn't so great in the latter. |
| I really don't understand all the praise for this series. For me i was basically a stock mahou shojou with stylistic choice of ballet+fairt tale. Said choice by itself doesn't really elevate the series in any way. Meta-fictional dimension also doesn't add any depth or charm, as it is heavily implied sinc ethe beginning (so it's not a shift nor mystery) and by itself is already incorporated into the anything-goes fairy tale aspect. Its extremely episodic, and very simplistic. The storboarding can sometimes be creative and well thought out, but as the series progresses it becomes more monotoneous. It's just slightly above average. Quite childish magical girl series, fairy-tale like naive. I think you can only like it due to the appreciation of this kind of fairy-tale aesthetic, and not because of the shows quality. My advice with that show is - your opinion of this show will stay roughly the same after first few episodes, till the end. If you don't think its great after watching few episodes, don't bother watching till the end becase it stays very flat, and some of the initial charm disappears. |
