Yea I'd love to go next time I'm in Copenhagen. If you haven't gone, I'd definitely recommend it, such a beautiful city.

Noma is famous for Molecular Gastronomy, which is why Alice from Souma specializes in that type of cuisine, I'm almost certain.

It's also where Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, founder of Evil Twin in Brooklyn, got his start, being basically the beer sommelier. I'm drinking his Moltov Lite Imperial IPA right now.

Yeah, I've recently noticed that Copenhagen seems like a pretty nice city for a vacation.
I went when I was studying in Bremen, Germany, the train ride from Hamburg is a pretty incredible one, the train gets on a ferry! I really want to go back to Scandinavia, Oslo and Stockholm are at the top of my list of places to visit. I'm not sure what it is about it, but the Scandinavian aesthetic really appeals to me.

Well, I guess it's different to the landscape of a city like New York.

What do you mean by the Scandinavian aesthetic?

I'd also recommend visiting Iceland, I haven't been there myself but I know people who have and the pictures they've taken there are gorgeous. Also Reykjavik seems like a pretty chill city

Honestly, I hated New York City when I was growing up, but maybe that's because we would normally go to what I would consider the worst part even now, Mid Town. Edinburgh was the first city I fell in love with, its such a beautiful city, well outside of council housing LMAO.

By Scandinavian aesthetic I guess I'm talking about the mid century modernist movement led by Scandinavian countries. I really like minimalism, functionalism and simplicity of design from some of these companies. I think this also transfers to food in some sense, Nordic/Scandinavian cuisine isn't fussy like French or Italian cuisine but focuses on fresh ingredients and simple preparations.

Companies? You mean countries? O_o

But yeah, I know what you mean. In some ways, I find the 'Nordic design' quite similar to the Japanese design in cuisine or whatever. I guess that's why the Japanese are known (?) to be fans of many things Nordic

I'd love to visit Edinburgh, it looks fuckin sick

Sorry, I meant companies from these countries, IKEA is obviously the famous one and is sorta what I'm talking about but not quite.

But yea I can't recommend Scotland enough, it is my second home. Edinburgh is such a great city, there is tons to do there but you can easily go out to the middle of nowhere for a hike.

At this point DP would have to seriously fuck up to make me change my mind but so far DiU is hands down my favorite animated part. When the season's over I'll stop being a pleb and just go read the mango.

oh

Well I never have felt like the traits you mentioned are very particular to Nordic companies but maybe I haven't noticed it because I live here

Ikea's design is obviously absolutely brilliant. That's why they are everywhere

Imo I still like the part 4 manga more than the anime until these past maybe 3-4 eps focusing really on Kira's new life, they just feel better animated.

I visited Salzburg on a day trip while I was in Bayern in the summer. Have to say it was possibly the most aesthetically pleasing city I have ever visited. Going to Austria for a longer trip is certainly a must

took quite a few of pictures similar to this there haha. The weather was similar too, super sunny and warm

Jontron is probably fine with this in comparison to all the people calling him a nazi sympathizer and alt right enthusiast right now only for him to just have a ball with it.
https://twitter.com/JonTronShow/status/800065168751362048

for the record if you are wondering why people are flinging that at him, aside from jontron having an amazing ability to piss people off online somehow depsite being one of the most bubbly and fun loing guys on it, he actually did a legit interview with breitbart where he voiced against media election coverage and speaking against fear mongering. Breitbart is a shit tier new site pulling the same shit putrid cesspools like cnn do, but being interviewed by them does not make someone a kkk member or nazi especially when you read the interview since he really isnt saying anything remotely offensive especially with how short it is.

i dont know if i want to go to bed early so i can wake up early enough to watch IBO before work. This weeks episode looks slow since its basically just characters lamenting over last weeks events but the best episode in the original series was exactly that.

Everything voiced by Arai Satomi sounds like an old lady everytime she's voicing some young girls everytime.

On the one hand, the show practically does the exact same thing itself

on the other hand there's enough of that in the show so the subs don't need to make it harder to figure out what the fuck is going on doing bullshit like translating numbers into kanji. Like I can understand it, both the written and spoken numbers, so whatever, but it definitely makes me think whoever does these subs has a very lame sense of humor.

I saw Arrival, it was pretty good. Not sure if I liked the 'twist'/ending but the build up was really great. I can see a lot of people not liking it though since its an insanely slow burner, but I think it really knew how to build suspense, anxiety, and intrigue all at the same time.

Okay, some of this fussing I'm seeing over Michelle Rhee potentially being considered for Secretary of Education is a bit much. Who cares if she's a Democrat? What she wants to do is what's important.

School choice is something I've wanted to see for a long time now, and she's a major proponent of it as far as I know. For teachers, she's for merit-based pay over tenure, which I also think would be an improvement. The only potential hiccup I see is her previous support for Common Core, which I'm not a fan of, but otherwise she seems like a solid candidate for the position.
