Omg, this ED T-T I was tearing up the whole episode, but I lost it at the ED, so beautiful, those images and the meaning behind them and this music. I love it some much. I love this series so, sooo much.

The singer is also only 14 years old.

6/5- Akari steps up, Hinata steps up some more and finally a teacher steps up! This episode shows us that the series can still be great even without Rei.

Honestly, i would still watch the show if the only character left was Momo.

Also the only episode in which Rei got no screentime at all. This show really needs him to work.

Not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion, I'm always glad when a show is brave enough to let its secondary characters carry the story

Man I almost had a heart atk the first couple min when the ep started, knew it was all a set up, and when Hina ran up to her I was like just screaming no no pls dont hit her, it was great to see Akari to show some courage and speak back but it was sad that she gave up and didn't fight back with the bully's mother, I was so hoping that Akari would use her words back at her, but this sub homeroom teacher is doing a good job, hopefully his involvement doesn't bring a bigger issue into the problem. What Hina been thourgh is making her such a strong character, love her development Looking forward for the next ep.

If the mother really needs that "proof" Chiho is already the living proof.

Ahhh, that was wonderful! I was not looking forward to a new OP and ED because I loved the previous ones so much but I should have known better. As soon as I heard the familiar sound of Unison Square Garden I about fell off my chair and how about that ED? Woah!

As for the episode I can't even express how much I loved it. I really wish the head teacher was permanent and not just a fill in for Hina's class. He's right up there with Hayashida in the awesome department.

I love this story and this season has been fantastic so far.

I somewhat expected the head teacher to apologize, in some way, to Hina for not being able to protect Chiho, but we will see where this goes. Also do not exactly like new OP and ED sequences, especially the second part of the ED.

Some phrase translations are indeed presented "not-exactly-finely", so without some knowledge of Japanese it will take more than one attempt to get the actual meaning.

The head teacher is indeed the MVP. He saw through everything, dealt with it cooling and didn't mince his words one bit when confronted by the Takagi parent.

Hina is amazing as well, for someone who is only in middle school to have the fortitude to stand up against adversity thrown at her and at the same time keeping her head cool.

This show is really on a roll with the current storyline progression being nothing short of 10/10 excellent week after week.

Yes, he's a great teacher, he knows how to deal with this kind of situations.

I loved Hina and Akari moment at the infirmary, both are so sensitive and strong characters.

The OP and Ed are nice, I still need to get used to them.

I've been wanting to catch up with the anime but now that I finally did it, I'm angry because I'll have to wait for a week to watch a new episode. Damn, this episode was so good.
As I've said recently, this is wat I like about this anime. I don't care about shogi, all I want is drama and human emotions. That's what this whole episode's about and it still isn't enough for me.

They've continued the bullying drama so well. It's been really powerful, the effect it's had on the homeroom teacher and this complicated attempt to resolve the issue. Akari has been so supportive and of course it's a lot for her to deal with as someone who's really had to be a mother figure despite being so young and just their sister. I like this head teacher, let's hope that we can get this resolved. Also! They need to weave Rei back into this. I don't want the bullying story to remain too separate from him. Have him there when they return from the meeting.

And I thought that episode 4 was perfection and that it couldn't be matched. Boy was I VERY wrong indeed! =D

The way that this bullying saga has been handled has left my emotions like a roller coaster. From shock, happiness, anger and tears, this arc has been truly memorable and brilliant. =)

Hina's homeroom teacher was starting to snap under anxiety and pressure from the whole saga herself, which left the whole class shocked. I will admit that seeing her collapse like this is a sad sight to see, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for her after her role in Chiho being moved away due to her negligence on her part.

Her replacement, the head teacher, was very straight to the point with his talk to the whole class that made me smile.

The confrontation between Takegi and her mum against Akari and Hina left me feeling with dread at the start. I was hoping that Takegi's mother would be decently reasonable, but that hope of mine melted away quickly as she was as much of a prick as her daughter. When Akari was left in a bind, Hina stepped in to save her as the head teacher came back.

During the whole spat between the two, when Takegi's mother fired off the word "proof", I was really hoping that Akari had the courage to fire the word back at her. So, seeing the head teacher put the mother in her place by saying that very word afterwords made me cheer in satisfaction and delight.

Not to forget, the infirmary scene between Akari and Hina was very touching and powerful. Hina's iron-clad resolve and determination was really admirable and moving. ^_^

Lastly, the new OP song by Unison Square Garden was better than I thought it would be, considering the style they went with for Welcome To The Ballroom before. The ED song was excellent and both had some amazing visuals and animation from Shaft once again. Great stuff. =3

What a way to start the first episode of this show in 2018. Simply perfect...

Head Sensei is awesome, but no one is more awesome than Hina! God she said/did all the right things!!

HINA IS MY HERO!!!!!

Here's the thing about that mother, although she isn't being the best role model and her behaviour can be considered dishonest (among other things), the fact she defended her daughter can be overlooked, I get it, she's your kid and if no one else has her back, you do--especially since as they said entrance exams are approaching. But if when they go home she actually pretends she believes the same bullshit she's telling the school, she's a terrible mother (and person).

Your daughter is a bully. You know it. Punishment and a proper private conversation is needed! She obviously seems like the type of parent only concerned with work and when she talks to her daughter it's only about school and grades. How she can turn a blind eye KNOWING the type of shit her daughter is being accused of is despicable.

I thought I hated the teacher but she just broke down from stress. This bitch though?

I was glad that they did justice to these chapters. Bullying is so hurtful Glad Hina stood up to Takaagi and forced the issue, even though it was so hard on Arkari and her home room teacher

In the end the new teacher settled things and Hina has vowed to endure

THANK YOU SO MUCH SHAFT!

And also the voice actor! especially Kana Hanazawa.. damn i think this is her best role yet.. so much vigor and emotion in it!

I hopethere's a season 3 announcement by the end of ep 22 like in the previous season.. i can't wait until they adapt that chapter and knowing shaft, it will be another pefection ;)

Looks like Hina's class is starting to get unsettled by the events. Im surprised that the incidents have caused the teacher that much stress though. The head teacher making the class understand that this is their punishment for not speaking out was interesting. So the teacher has finally decided to bring in the parents then. Akari's way of cheering up Hina with food was funny though but its nice that she's now braver. The insight into Akari's personality when she took over the task of head of family was interesting. The clash between Akari and Takagi's parent though was interesting. The best way to handle bullies is to ignore them and im glad that Hina realises this. But the head teacher though sure was decisive in solving the problem though.

Ugh what a beautiful episode. I'm so proud of Hina for standing her ground and fighting back during class, before the parent-teacher meeting, and especially during her conversation with Akari. I loved how fierce Hina looked when she said that by going to class and graduating it was her victory! You go girl!

And poor Akari D: I was routing for her, and she was doing so well until she was asked for proof. I was yelling at the screen like "say that Takagi doesn't have proof either!!" so I was really excited when the head teacher said that lol. All the snaps to him this episode, he knows what's up.

Honestly, while I do feel bad for that teacher, she really had it coming. If the bullying kept happening every year, you're obviously doing something wrong and need to change your approach towards it somehow. If she didn't know what to do, she could have asked another teacher for help or advice, simple as that. Obviously this head teacher knows what he's doing and was aware of what was happening, so she could have gone to him.

I'm happy with the way this arc is coming to a close. Can't wait for the next episode to see Takagi's karma come back to her >:)

The escalation was real powerful. I get the pitiful teacher, but she should've gotten help or leave way sooner. Akari tried but too bad the other side was too tough, tho I expected more from her as the 'parent' role.
I like the head teacher stepping in, but would've worked better if he had earlier development. Since real bullying rarely has a random savior pop in. And proof thing is dicey since there are kids who feign victim to gain favor & pull others down.
Hina's amazingly strong tho.

Amazing episode! Just as when you thought there won’t be anymore awesome teaacher like Hayashida sensei, another great one showed up! It only took him a short screentime and he’s already showing us why he’s a Head Teacher! It’s clear that a strong teacher like him is needed in order to resolve the issue. And Kokubu was straightforward when he said that he wants the bullying issue gets resolve before the new teacher arrives. And I just gotta love the sinister grin on Kokubu-sensei’s face as a he told the bully and her mother off. xDD They better watch out because they’re certainly on his naughty list. Like he said they will have to pay a price. ^_^

Now I want to see the “next step” that Kokubu-sensei was talking about. :)

Well, Hinata's statement that matters took a slightly peculiar turn was spot on. For a moment, I was questioning whether I was watching Sangatsu or not. What happened to the elderly homeroom teacher was quite grim.

However, the teacher's misfortune paved the way for a solution to the bullying situation. The substitute teacher's concise way of presenting facts and denouncing conjecture was brilliant. His simple explanation was truly striking. As was the teacher's wide grin.

As for Hinata, that girl is a saint, not to mention the fact that her mental fortitude is off the charts. She even lent a hand to her distressed sister, confronting the bully's mother was agonising for Akari. At last, a solution to the predicament involving Hinata may be on the horizon.

A gripping episode from start to finish! Akari's plight is so sad, especially considering that she was so young when her mom passed away. Too bad gramps didn't attend the conference so we could see him transform into an Oni again!

New OP and ED are nice. I prefer the ED slightly. Animation for both OP and ED are full of symbolism as always.

Also, Hina has achieved levels of power this ep as yet unknown. It looked like Hina was going to knock out Takagi for a moment there.
