Pretty good episode I guess.
It feels like a standard baseball anime, even though I haven't seen any others.

God i loved this ep so much when i first read Diamond no Ace and, when this came up i knew when it got animated it would hit me hard and, it did ;_; 9/10

Lol I actually find it to be quite funny in the manga, I cried when watching that scene though.

I love the moment that catcher said "Nice.. ball.." I don't know why but that voice totally send shivers down my spine, the tone he used is also very fitting.

My first baseball anime was Major and I thought it was amazing. I really hope ace of diamond is as good. Pretty good first episode I can't wait to see their stand off next episode and what kind of pitches he does. Hopefully awesome ones like Goro did in MAjor.

Goro's pitch is actually not that good. Only fastball and spiral (whatever can't spell, forkball like), only 2 pitch selections, though I understand why people find it to be epic, because it's too mainstream. A truly good baseball anime is Ookiku Furikabutte, and that's what we call a good pitcher and catcher aka battery.

Oh I didn't know 4 was a large number then. XD Well, it's pretty understandable why the other two are more popular - they have previous seasons.

Manga-wise, this series and the cycling one (Yowamushi Pedal) actually has been around longer than Kuroko no Basket.

No mention for Ippo? Hajime no Ippo has 104 volumes. It has 1034 chapters released over the course of 24 years and is still ongoing. This manga started to be popular long before most of us had their first pimple. This manga/anime is living history, how can someone just brush it off as "the boxing one"? T__T It's making me sad. T.T

Back to topic, the second episode was much better than the first. Those pitches were amazing and beautifully animated, too. And I love Miyuki, I love him for the damn *** that he is. They got him spot on in those two episodes, I can't wait to see more of him. :D
Really looking forward to next episode. =) I also think this is a bit udnerrated, however it's just been 2 epsiodes and especially in Baseball, there's lot's of great anime out there, like Major, Ookiku Furikabutte or Cross Game, it's tough competition.

Well I already read the manga so it didn't feel that emotional to me.
Still nice though.

I like that in the fall season has come out a sports anime like this. The second episode was great because Eijun learned teamwork and agree to go to Tokyo.

This stage went quick, with a tantamount of positive reverse psychology, applied brutally where needed :) Sawamura took it well, though.

Looking forward to seeing more of that Miyuki guy ^_^ Kaibutsu onslaught is always welcomed.

Sorry. I do know the name of it but it's hard to spell since I rarely type it. LOL I'm planning on watching it eventually when I have free time for an another long sports anime (Although Prince of Tennis will come first)

This anime reminds me so much of major, I'm loving it. I mean even the main character seems somewhat similar to goro. I can't wait for more...

Good episode, ending was really nice
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy

So far so good.

Its weird for me to have an anime where the main character is not hated, parents dead or missing, has friends, etc.

So far its just pretty normal and that's not a bad thing, but the whole having to choose between playing baseball with his friends vs a top tier school was nice though, and gave the character some personality instead of just "Natural born pitcher with an awesome wrist"

His friends also did a complete 180 on him which was sweet.

YES, this is now becoming a good start! We already got character development! I love how they handled the MC's struggle over joining a big team to finally reach his protentional versus the loyalty he has to his hometown team that he built himself. The conflict of wanting to push your friend to become the best they can be versus the desire to continue playing baseball with them was well executed.
Still, it sucks that he had to live in a dorm for the first time in his life and can't commute from home. In Haikyu, Hinata lives in a country home up in a mountain but still attends a school in town. Oh well.

Nice strike! Felt emotional seeing his friends admit at the end on them wanting play with him longer, truly bro's for keeping quiet 6 months so he wouldn't regret going.
