I did not know there's so much to study about trash, but I realize it's only natural that geology and mineralogy would include man-made objects that get mixed into nature. Stories like Shouko's make me anxious about becoming some kind of teacher. Some small, thoughtless action like "let's throw that way and go back inside" can discourage a child from "choosing their path" and maybe change the course of their lives for the worse... |
| After last week’s weak episode, this one was a big step up. Hori directed his first TV episode, and Uchiyama did his first solo AD work. The result was great, the episode looked fantastic. Hori brought Shinpei Sawa’s SB to life, and Uchiyama’s style was clear from start to finish. Hori and Uchiyama, who often worked together on Madhouse projects, brought in a strong crew, which you can see in the credits. To top it off, they made a special ending for this episode, featuring some amazing drawings by Ryo Imamura. |

| Seto Shoko now gets to be a main character and I like her. Her parents suck trying to push on her even as a kid what she should do for a career based on what brings in money. Capitalism tries to hinder souls. I like different bottle designs too so Id probably enjoy finding neat little old bottles. Maybe I should remember this might be possible if I ever am near a beach some time. |

| Beautiful episode right from the start till the finish ✨💖💙 Too many breathtaking scenes. I guess Studio Bind did a better job with the animation for Ruri Rocks than Mushoku Tensei. Two seasons back, Studio Bind did a splendid job with Flower and Asura and now Ruri Rocks. They are growing as a fine studio..❤️❤️ Shoko is such an adorable kid. Finally, Imari got an episode to shine and ended up being a role model for Shoko like Nagi did for Ruri. Even Ruri and Shoko have their names named after Glass ❤️❤️ And that new ed was a nice finishing touch. Shoko and Ruri are gonna Rock as friends.. This show makes me wanna drop my career and choose mineralogy as my new path xD |

| Little Shouko was absolutely adorable. It was so heartwarming to see Shouko discover that the world of minerals that fascinated her as a child is not a dream and she can study it, and that there are others who share her interests. With her addition, the group has grown and Ruri now has a new companion. Just as Nagi got Ruri to be her future kouhai, it looks like things could go the same way for Imari with Shouko. |

This episode finally made Imari shine, as she was basically the star of the episode alongside Seto.
| @MadanielFL Great point! Somehow I missed that while watching, but it completely makes sense now why I had struggled to connect with Imari in previous episodes. Ruri thinks of her as too bookish and so that's how she came across to me before, but Seto admires her for that quality and I finally feel like I can understand Imari's motivations, now. |
| Another perfect episode in a truly standout show! Loved the intro of our new mineralogist in the making! Great simple backstory too along with interactions on the beach with our main cast. Continuing to appreciate the learning aspect of the show. Can't wait for next episode! |

| The episode is beautiful visually, but the message is even more beautiful. This is the kind of show teenagers need to watch to get fired up! I'm an adult these episodes especially this one has been really inspiring. Of course not everyone has the privilege to chase their dream let alone make it come true, but for those that do, it's life changing. As they say "find a job you enjoy doing, then you will never have to work in your life".  |

| How does this show keep producing gems in every episode! Seto was teased quite early in the series but she finally makes her appearance now. I absolutely love her character design. She appears to be stylish person in general. Something about this show just strikes a chord with me. In this episode we find out Seto's passion for precious rocks and gems as a kid but no body understands her. Not even her own parents. She gets pulled by her Sensei back to the "Norm" with everyone else. This relates to a lot of us. Growing up I was really in anime, movies and video games but people found that to be too wierd. Eventually I found people with similar interests and was at peace. I'm still satisfied with the fact that I do what I want and not other everyone wants me to just to "conform" to society. Wew that was something. Back to the topic at hand. This ep dealt more with man made materials and forces of nature at play. The focus of the ep was Seto ofc. Glad to see her make like minded friends. It was great to see her breaking out of her shell or glass..? I was annoyed at the fact that Ruri was so busy doing her usual shenanigans that she forgot to tell who the hell they even were! But it made for a great reveal at the end. I loved the fact that when she asked Mari if it's difficult she replies by saying It's not EASY but if you're something passionate about it, just go for it. Most people including myself do shit that we're not exactly excited about for various reasons. Don't think I can blame myself too much about it since the job market has gone to whack in where I'm at. This show is about rocks but talks about so much more and it's beautiful, even philosphical. In that regard it reminds me of Orb: On the Movements on the earth on how it turns a niche and mundane topic into something profound. Loved the montage from her growing up with made her happy and getting to be friends with Ruri and joining the team at the lab! Also loved the fact things went well with her family even tho they weren't in bad terms. They seem to a couple of loving parents which sure is rarity in anime and irl too lol. |

| Proper beach episode! Im surprised Ruri went with her friends, she seemed to spend too much time on the sapphire hunt before! Also since they went right after school.. in my headcanon they wore the swimsuits under their school uniforms. We certainly did back in school lol. Proper response to "they are just rocks"  Dont worry Imari, you might not find glass shards at the beach in the future, but you will find plastic in your own blood! Fun! Ruri just cant stop throwing shade at Imari, poor girl. Atleast Seto looks up to her (for now).. They make finding glass at the beach all romantic, but am I the weird one for not liking glass shards where you go bare footed? Maybe that one time I got a glass shard stuck in my feet as a kid when I went to a local beach made me sensitive.. I thought they drove off without Imari because she was talking too long lmao Loved the ED! |
