| I know nothing about this anime, just heard some of the hype. They had me from the OP, the art and vibrant colours are a visual feast. The story and characters are very interesting so far. The tone is more upbeat than I expected from the synopsis. Maomao is a wonderful protagonist, her calm demeanor reminds me of Frieren. |

| Maybe one of the episodes of the year. I liked all, animation, the beggining of the history, the characters. It was a long of time since I didnt watch an opening and an ending complete to be honest. |

@ryzxgum I read the manga as well and it's always been Lihua and Xiaolan for me.... I guess it must be because I read the volumes published by Square Enix. But yh really solid episode. They really nailed Mao Mao's wanting to live a stress-free life attitude and how it conflicts with her "poison fanatic" attitude lol.
| @samsince04 Lihua and Xiaolan is also how it is in official Light Novel translation and how the author presumed the names to be transliterated. Same with a bunch of other characters. |

| One of the popular japanese pop rock band Ryokuoushoku Shakai! 🔥 I'm glad they've been in charge with this shows' opening theme. As expected it's really good. ❤️ And Maomao dancing ❤️❤️ And studio OLM 😭❤️ Aside from Pokemon, Inazuma, Yokai Watch etc... They've been getting in charge with amazing shows this past years (Komi-san, Odd Taxi, Summertime Render etc.. And now this!! | One of my most favorite LNs finally has an anime and what a brilliant adaptation this is! I had the widest grin on my face throughout the episode. OLM really delivered |

| Not gonna lie but they had me with the opening. What was that? And then this (amazing) first episode. Usually it takes me a while to see if an anime is for me but I already love this (and Maomao is awesome ♥). But I feel like I will end up disliking Rifa. I giggled when Maomao thought Jinshi was a girl :D |

| For a girl who got kidnapped and sold off, Maomao sure doesn’t seem too bothered. If she was just gonna keep her head down and work her way out of this servitude, she probably shouldn’t have gotten involved with the princes and their illness. |

| Excellent first episode, just like what i am expected from watching the Trailer. Music by Kevin Penkin, you know it's gonna be good. and we got 24 episodes airing back to back? Hell YES!! also they released first 3 episodes for the Premiere? More Anime should keep doing this trend. |

| Soundtrack is awesome, we have a good OP, ED and Kevin Perkin. Nothing to complain about. Maomao is adorable. And that beautiful Eunuch. Are we sure he's ... actually an eunuch? Starts out with an interesting story about the toxic minerals found on cosmetics, most likely lead as that also killed a lot of nobles in Eurupe back when folks didn't realize the price of beauty was death. |

| The manga is pretty good, but I'm not convinced by the adaptation so far. I don't like the color palette, I don't like the music, the animation is average and the direction is uninspired. No doubt many people will like it since the stories are really good, but as of now, this show doesn't bring much on top of the manga, apart from the voice acting which is fine. |
| For someone who got his dick cut, this Jinshi dude sure likes to act like he's the big deal. OK start, I guess. Honestly watching this only because of the colourful visuals, Kevin Penkin and Aoi Yuuki. |
| The art was really beautiful. The setting definitely sets this apart from most other shows I have watched recently. Maomao is equally as refreshing. To the point where her character felt very odd at times. Not in a bad way, but like others have pointed out, she didn't seem too fussed about getting kidnapped. She also had several other atypical reactions throughout the episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit even though it was mostly just introduction and set-up. I'm mostly looking forward to more Maomao screen time. Not really feeling the rest of the characters yet. Also, found it interesting that there were so many health concerns with the traditional face powder. I never knew that was the case. |

| Is it possible for a man to become an eunuch without ever being castrated? I mean MaoMao is right, he's too beautiful and it's a pity he can't have offspring. The ladies are fangirling over him, hahah. To be honest, it's a bit weird to see MaoMao just give up when she was kidnapped, why didn't she try to scream on the way to the palace? Oh but maybe she tried and no one noticed.... anyway, it's only the first episode so I haven't found anything interesting for me yet but I like the color palette, and it's very popular too so I'll keep watching it. |
