Ok this episode was good. Finally luffy shows that he is not messing around. Boa just becomes more of a bitch the more i see these episodes. She is a horrible person placing judgment on those girls. Unfortunately for her that is something luffy won't stand for.
Boa hancock: It is because im Beautiful
Luffy: Your pissing me off
EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC EPIC!!!!
That dialogue was just epic. Now i think I understand why Kuma sent luffy to this island. He has no weakness to girls what so ever. Maybe because kuma's intentions were for luffy to meet this girl and he would only be the likely candidate. But hell i don't know, just thinking ahead again.
Em i the only one that thought luffy's ability to not be weak to girls was inspiring. I always knew this to be a fact, throughout the entire series, luffy never shown any weakness to women or even was interested in love or anything like that. He of course wanted to protect his nekama in any way. Maybe those were oda's intentions from the start. Finally its realized in this arc and challenged.
they seriously thought that little kitten would take down luffy. (laughs)

But man, I really hate the 1 episode per 1 chapter thing. Boa walking down those steps took a good minute. Argh.
honestly you are the most critical person i have seen in these discussions about one piece. Took a minute to walk down the stairs??? i mean come on lol. The anime focused more on her in different angles, well walking down the stairs. That isn't necessary a bad thing. I liked seeing all the reaction to everyone when she got up to. It if it was like a 4 second thing like in the manga, i wouldn't of been as intrigued by it.
Something you have to understand is there is a large difference between manga and anime ok. If they synchronized each page of artwork into each clip of anime. The pacing would be so incredibly fast and quick, it would be like watching pages with no fluid motion picture what so ever. In animation they have to take pages of art work or scans and give it life. Other people might be able to explain this alot better then i can. But ive seen some posters like you on this discussions, you except each individual art page to be exactly the same as the production in animation and that does not happen when your transitioning something with images to fluid animation.
Great episode, definitely the best one since 405. Luffy reminded me why he's my favorite male character EVER and was in complete awesome mode this episode. The line link9us quoted was sweeeeet. But, yeah, Boa did a horrible thing to Margaret and the others..
But, I think they bit off way more than they can chew by picking a fight with Luffy. It's to bad they didn't read that paper the elder had.
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."
About time we got some action! LOL at the mention of Noro noro beam with mistakenly hearing Mero mero mellow haha Haha And I it looks like Hancock is hypnotizing all the ladies on this island.. Hopefully Luffy can knock some senses in Boa Hancock!
hahaha i love luffy. completely honest and un-corruptable.
this arc has been really interesting too, just because luffy and a bunch of girls are the worst match up ever. he's not eloquent so he can't get himself out of trouble with explanations, and he's pissing off hancock by being resistant to her charms. love the whole fight-before-the-empire thing because it's one more chance for luffy to kick ass.
i do wish the peanut gallery of girls would shut up, though.
Behold of my awesomeness~
controversial and/or sensitive topics likely devolve into the same repetitive, derogatory, abusive, and harassing comments can no longer be posted.
But my feels.
i think luffy is too pure to be affected by boa hancock's powers. it's a good and bad thing i guess? in this case a good thing?
either way i think they're exploring reverse sexism in this arc, whereas women look down upon men when it's usually the other way around. really interesting!
i'm sure Luffy can still beat those two snake women.

Honestly though whenever Boa says, "People forgive me because I'm beautiful." I would say the same thing that Luffy says.
"You're starting to annoy me."
That or, "Your starting to piss me off lady."
Yeah me too! Enough with the "I am beautiful" bullshit. I am guessing she has a very dark past (like almost everyone at One Piece) but that's not an excuse to become a bitch, sorry.
I get an "all men are a******s" attitude but she is cruel even to her subjects, so..
I love how naive and simple minded Luffy is though....
ClearSinz said: LOL XD great episode
well it's bout time that he is finally captured
lolz when she fired the Mero Mero beam and Luffy thought it was the noro noro beam XD
I am hopeful for Boa. I hated Nami's selfishness in the beginning, I said similar things that are being said in this thread, she may not be a bad person but her actions are not forgivable. Then I hated Franky. I knew he would join the crew but I was telling my friend that I hoped to God he wouldn't. Later he became one of my favorite Straw Hats. Just think about a common message in One Piece, we've seen it since episode 1 and 2, not all pirates are bad, not all navy are good, judge people for who they are not their first impressions or status. And we can rightfully judge Boa as a bad person by that logic but I think we shouldn't assume who she is from these few actions we've seen. She's very mysterious.
This thread has so many spoilers in it. =_= One guy said something that was only partially spoiler tagged and only one thing makes sense there so now I know
Kuma sent Luffy here to learn Haki and that Kuma is obviously a good guy. It makes sense but I wish that guy spoiler tagged his post better. God darn it.
It seems Luffy is getting his second Eneru treatment where he naturally isn't affected by the bad guys overpowered ability. Like I predicted it was the devil man gag from Dragon Ball and I was so okay with that. Maybe it's lazy to have this occur twice but this time is different enough. It's not that Luffy could never be hit by it, if he was truly charmed he could be turned to stone, however he is mostly asexual and a goal oriented person, when he's thinking about one thing it's all he thinks about. He couldn't care less about Boa's beauty. I think he may never care about it. But, it's not entirely off the table. Also, this is a personality thing that makes Luffy immune to love love beam. For Eneru it was just good luck with the devil fruit power he had. So, it's different enough and I like it a lot. It brings a new idea to the forefront, Luffy's sexuality. If Boa's attacks rely on charming the opponent it will be interesting to see if she ever finds a way to charm Luffy.
That teeth crushing punch on the panther was wonderful. The whole scene where he lost it was especially great. Yet again people who came to his side have been hurt because of him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's especially mad since he wants to make sure he can help his newfound comrades this time, something he failed at before being sent here. I LOVE how he didn't care about anything other than saving Margaret and the others the second they turned to stone onwards. Boa’s charm didn't mean anything to him and that panther was one shot by an angry Luffy who didn't have time to bother with him. I love how he screamed to the crowd that they are disgusting for allowing their friends to be hurt like this. Speaking of the crowd, that mob is so frustrating, there's not much more infuriating than an anime mob yelling at the main character.
Margaret is awesome and strong and her nakama are pretty great in how they sacrificed themselves for her too. Margaret got to see the sincerity and kindness in Luffy and she values helping an innocent man over her own life. Righteous.
Boa is so hard to understand right now. I'm interested in seeing more of her. Her expressions and reactions feel so fake to me. In an anime where shock comes in the form of Eneru or Perona's dropped jaw, eye popping out faces, Boa simply shouted in a way that seemed like poor acting and then decided she hated his very existence. She's weird and hard to pin down. I was really hoping Luffy would just wind back and punch her in the face when she was trying to say everyone forgives her. Luffy punching the bad guys in the face for the first time whether it was Crocodile or Bellamy or whatever are some of the most satisfying moments and I hope we get it this time too.
The mob noted that Luffy has crazy brute strength without using haki, meaning if he learns haki he presumably will be insanely stronger. Perhaps this is a needed skill out there in the new world! And most importantly, as Boa says, strength is beauty here. Luffy is being tasked to fight two of the strongest Kuja warriors at once. If he manages to win or show that he can keep up with both, I wonder if they will give him the same treatment and respect his strength. Perhaps if he shows them his strength they will teach him haki? HMM?
Luffy mistaking Boa's charming attack for an unpleasant Foxy's Noro Noro Beam was absolutely hilarious and it not working on him at all made it even funnier.
Now that Boa's straight-up mentioned her surprise towards finding a man where her feminine charms do not work on, I've just realized that this mini-arc would've ended a lot more differently if it was Sanji who ended up flying into Amazon Lily lmao
I feel bad for Margaret and pals for getting turned to stone after standing up for Luffy... It looks like that dreadful Snake Princess need a good humbling and Straw Hat Luffy's just the right guy for the job!
Im curious to see how Haki impacts future battles. Maybe there’ll be new strategies because their fighting style has to make a drastic change. Either way this power seems interesting; I want to learn more about it.
Another satisfying punch from Luffy!! This Boa character is really pissing me off now.. no you can’t treat people however you please just because you think you’re beautiful. It’s your actions that define who you are as a person, not your appearance.
bet this will turn Akame ga Kill and she will fall for the one who doesnt show her any interest .
btw does Luffy's character seem a little small and scrawny after he arrived here.idk may only me
If Boa's power doesn't work for someone like Luffy, then there might be people out there who are immune to her power too! Which makes Boa not as strong as I thought she was.
She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!
So Boa powers seem to be only people who think she beautiful. Not everyone she meets. So some strong willed people like Luffy, shanks, and the admirals probably won’t be impacted. Shurly she has some other powers.
I don’t think boa knows how much she messed up by turning those 3 to stone. Luffy now has big motivation
