| You already know an anime is epic if the music is being done by Hiroyuki Sawano. The same person who composed for Attack on Titan and Kill La Kill. I swear when that explosion happened on New Orleans and that sountrack kicked in, I was having an eargasm and my hype level went way up. I also love how the MC just nonchalantly said "A missile is coming," all badass like with a straight face hahah. Loving this anime already, hopefully it doesn't disappoint. |

| WHat did I watch ! I thought this is going to be another mecha anime like captain eath and buddy complex. However, I'm wrong, this was way better than I expected. I hope they keep up the quality as this episode. I think the princess is alive because she a main character |

| First episode was great, especially the end. Amazing OST made by Hiroyuki Sawano! He did good job. I still have got goosebumps :o |

| I was afraid my own hyped up expectations for this series was going to ruin it for me, but it actually turned out to be pretty interesting. I'm interested in seeing the role Slane will play in all this since he's with the aliens at the moment and because of his dedication to the princess. It'd be nice in its own way if he sided with the humans in all this. Gotta wonder if the princess is still alive though. MAL isn't absolute, but she's still listed as a main. And the aliens predicted--wanted--her to be attacked as an excuse to start a war so they probably had measures to save her? And of course there was the decision not to actually show us if she was in the car. And the scene with the little kids making a wish for peace at the end was tragic. x_x |

| Well...it feels familiar...why do i get the feeling that the oh-so-damn-cool-and-calm MC is going to pilot a mecha and save the day? Then then...there will be his girl classmate who like/admire/love him but he's ignorant about her feeling. Well i hope it doesn't turn out to be something cliche like that. I respect Urobuchi for his Pscho-Pass, so i'll try a few more episode before i decide to continue watch or drop it. |

| Lots of potential here. Thoughts: -strong soundtrack -Slaine seems like he could turn out to be a good character, this whole thing with the princess will light a fire under his ass -the princess is a very typical character, but I quite liked her. I wouldn't mind her surviving. -well shit the story actually seems somewhat interesting -dat end of the episode -MC and his friends are boring as fuck, that's my one worry |
| The slow start was necessary, and extremely worth it. I expected nothing less from Hiroyuki Sawano the god! I assume that if the ending scene with the two children ended with their faces blown off from the explosions, there would be a larger response to this first episode. |

| This was actually pretty nice. We have a good setting, a good atmosphere, a good OST but meh character designs. My impression based from the trailer was this would be a MLA rip-off, but it's pretty obvious now that I'm off the mark. I'm looking forward for the next episodes. This will be at least decent. |
| Lets see how many characters we start to care about die in the second episode. I`m saying...2 or 3, at least. Anyways, looking forward to how they resolve everything, but 12 episodes? Isn`t that a little short? Or is this adapted from something that can be fit into 12 episodes. Well, don't leave me hanging. I have medium-high expectations of this anime. |

| Has anime fallen so much in the past few years that an ok start at best is being called epic. The anime has potential but it doesn't reveal much and only the last few minutes was any good. |

| The Sawano drop was the pinnacle of the episode, very nice start. But 12 episodes only? Also, those 3D CGI mechas was terrible, definitely not gonna watch this from the mecha fanboy side, but I still have high expectations on this. |

| So far from the first episode, i love the tone of the series. Its not entirely original but it didn't bug me while i was watching. Most mecha anime have great 1st episodes and then devolve into a mess of plot and cliche twists, so here's to hoping this one avoids that! Everyone else be damned, I liked Gargantia! |

| Only good thing was the ship impacting New Orleans :) This can all be resolved if the people weren't f*cking stupid :( Princess coming = no security :O lol And where are the nukes? they didn't use any when they struck in the past? :( Hell even a barrage of big missiles is enough, did they not have WW1 and 2 ? tch :( |

That would be enough to repel an attack by the weapons you'd expect most terrorists to use (AK-47s and/or RPG-7s). You don't normally expect terrorists to bring along an MLRS disguised as an ambulance. |

| And once again we start a new Mecha anime where its some type of humanoid extraterrestrial race who is on the brink of war with Earth. People on earth sure are dumb (unless they were undercover Vers and actually wanted to start the war like that knight dude said) blowing up the princesses' car and starting a war with what seems to be a far technologically advanced Mars. So far seems okay, music was awesome. The CGI seems a bit uninspired and so far not a fan of Inaho's personality, he seems a bit dull, but we will see. 4/5 first episode. |
