| Great, it's not about school. I liked the way Haiji tricked everyone to join the club. Very promising start, and considering it's 23 episodes for 50 manga chapters, I hope we'll see a full story. Oh, and it's from the same author as Fune wo Amu, yeah, definitely high hopes. |

| Didn't know I would open the season with this but anyhow, good opener. Wasn't stunningly gripping, but did a good job introducing the characters- despite the large cast, it didn't feel cluttered at all! Some scenes very impressive, like the first and last scenes and the fast forward flashback. Visually flawless too, I'm sold so far |
| it is a good first episode. they executed the premise very well. This series will remind you to Haikkyu and Ballroom e Youkoso (all by Production I.G.). Because this series has same character designer as Haikkyu (Takahiro Chiba), same sound director as Haikkyu and Ballroom (Hiromi Kikuta) and same composer as My Hero Academia and Haikkyu (Yuuki Hayashi). So i think this series has potential especially production value. Now how great this series will be depend on story from source material. Personally i like how this series take place in college, not in High School as Haikkyu, KnB or Eyeshield. i wonder how college theme will combine with sport anime |

| UNISON SQUARE GARDEN always provides us such quality OPs! This show's art style reminds me of Ballroom e Youkoso...then i checked...of course its from Production I.G.! 1st episode starts a calm and slow but i'm up for it! 4/5. |

Yeah that was COMPLETELY a scam  It's rare to see a 23 episodes show I needed a good track & field anime... the only show about "running" I saw is Prince of Stride, maybe beautiful but kinda lame + the otaku alias "Prince" lmao |
| That was very overwhelming. I had to watch the episode twice to understand what was going on. Still, it was interesting. I think I will watch this one. This already looks like it would be better than the sports animes I've seen till now. Something about the way the story was told really made me want to know more. Though, I feel like this episode itself wasn't very good. That doesn't even make sense. Also, Kageyama look alike!! Their personalities were quite different, though. |
| The way they paced this episode felt very interesting to me. Also the fact that this is a sports anime with the drama tag listed makes it all the more promising to me most sport anime I've seen all were comedy after all. I hope it delivers, then again it's Production I.G. ... they always try their hardest to deliver <3 |

| This looks quite promising! The music and animation were both beautiful and I'm interested where they're taking this plot. My only complaint is the fact the episode seemed pretty fast-paced, but other than that it was pretty good. |

Heck, I might even be missing the intonation and it could be "brewer's high school" (醸成高校) if such a thing exists (idea for groundbreaking new anime here! cute high school girls learning to make sake! /slaps self) instead of "girl's high school" (女性高校). The translator left it as "josei". Glad to know that you've already seen this ep so we can debate best boy later. ^_~ |

| I found some of the running scene animations looked extremely gimpy. Almost like whoever was animating it had no idea how someone that supposedly has good running for would look when running. Don't get me wrong, in other scenes it looked pretty good, and the bike scene animation was obviously great, but sometimes the running animation looks like an incredibly awkward half jog. All the being said, it seemed like a pretty straightforward introductory episode, and we'll just see how it turn out. I actually kinda like the run down inn vibes that their dorm has going for it. Feels very cozy (hole in the floor aside). |
| It was a an okayish first episode in my opinion. I didn't mind the straight way used to introduce all the characters considering the huge cast, even though I would have preferred a more natural introduction of their personal characteristics, for example during the party or even in later episodes. This episode has also raised my scepticism about the story telling, because of the same reason mentioned by @TheServant: TheServant said: Though I am still worried about writing quality overall. Especially with how the first episode's handled the storytelling order, it's weird that they decided to tell it a bit out of order when there's nothing to be had there. There's no interesting revelation because of it, there's nothing evocative. It would've been the same if they told it in chronological order. The not chronological order didn't add anything to the atmosphere.Initially, it confused me due to the time lap and when I thought that it was done to save time, the scenes were shown anyway. |

| I really liked this first episode! I knew that I could expect something good since the source is a novel, and the setting wasn't the saturated high school one; but this start was even better than what I expected, and it's looking gorgeous too! I really liked the main characters, and I can't wait to know more about their circumstances. The rest of the cast is nice too, and I love stories with twins so this is also a plus for me. Oh, and I really liked the OP, and the ED too! |

| At first I am huge fan of the Haikyuu! Series so I am very excited about this anime. I really enjoyed the first episode but I am scared it just will be a cash grab to all haikyuu! fans that will watch the show because of some hot boys. It could turn in to something good but also very boring or mediocre. At least I must say: "THE SOUNDTRACK IS FUCKING AMAZING! JUST LISTEN TO THE LAST OST AT THE FIRST EPISODE THAT PLAYS AROUND 19:05 ITS SO CHILL." |

| It's funny how some people had difficulties watching this show. I think everything worked quite smoothly and i was soo positively surprised to find a sport anime i knew nothing about. Maybe it's a funny quirk of every sport anime. Even Slam Dunk had Rukawa Kaede. I wonder if there's a similar picture of all the similar characters who have boyish style brown hair and are main characters.. Too many characters to count.. |

I felt like the character introductions were a little fast-paced. In fact, I felt like the whole episode was fast-paced. However, I can't exactly tell how the writers are wanting this to play out which is awesome. I guess I'll give it a chance, then! Also, here's a pretty good screenshot: |
